ColourQ #275 & Pals Paper Arts #236

Hey Everyone

I had a fabulous day on the weekend helping my mum with her market.  If it wasn’t for her and her stall, all of my cards would sit in my craft room probably getting ruined as I just dump them in a box after I take a photo of them.  I had a couple of requests for kids cards and realised I had none to sell.  I looked around for a challenge to rectify my lack of kids card and found I could combine my card for the sketch challenge at Pals Paper Arts and the colour challenge at colourQ.

Pals Paper Arts #230 & Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #332

Hey Everyone

I saw the challenge at Create with Connie & Mary was to make a Gift Card Holder and decided I could make a head start on my Christmas gift card/money holders.  I’ve combined this challenge with the colour challenge at Pals Paper Arts – they’re the perfect colours for Christmas!

I have a confession – I’ve never used this retired Stampin’ Up! Christmas Stocking Die before. I’m hoping I’m not the only one that buys products thinking I’m going to use them – only for them to sit in the cupboard for possibly 3 years??? I made sure I used my new Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlits Dies.  I stamped the envelope with Endless Wishes in Baked Brown Sugar and the sentiment is from my Wondrous Wreath Framelits Dies. Quick and easy!

And look! I made more than one!

Pals Paper Arts #222 & Retro Sketches #135

Hey Everyone

I’m back with another card I made today.  This time I’ve combined my card for the following challenges – Pals Paper Arts and Retro Sketches where you can use any past sketch.  Here’s PPA’s colour combo and the fab sketch I chose from Retro Sketches.

I’ve had Stampin’ Up!s Choose Happiness sitting unopened on my bookcase for a little while now and decided it was time to ink it up.  I’ve used my Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight blendabilities to give the flower some colour and the leaves are coloured with my Old Olive blendabilities.  I know Old Olive isn’t part of the challenge colours, but I’m hoping the DT at Pals Paper Arts won’t mind.  I finger walked Dictionary through Early Espresso ink and then stamped it off once on photocopy paper to dull the colour.  I then finger walked it on my cardstock so you can see bits of the print in the background.  The sentiment is from Petite Pairs and I’ve used Banner Blast for the banners. Here’s my card:

Pals Paper Arts #218 & Mojo Monday #361

Hey Everyone

I managed to make another card today for two challenges today.  The colour challenge at Pals Paper Arts and the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday.  Here are their inspiration pics:

I pulled out a favourite retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set of mine – French Foliage – for my card. I’ve also used a retired set called Lovely and Lacy and the sentiment is from a set that the name kind of escapes me at the moment.  Here’s my card:

A Belated Challenge Win Post

Hey Everyone

I now know I am getting old as my memory is totally leaving me. I kept meaning to write this post but would sidetracked and then forgot all about it while I had my couple of week break with my fractured elbow.

The news I’m belatedly sharing is that I won the Pals Paper Arts 20oth Challenge a little while ago.  I was totally thrilled!!!  The prize that I would received was all 20 of the talented Design Team cards.  It felt like Christmas as I received a card or two pretty much every day for about a month.  I want to thank the Design Team for sending them all the way over to Australia as they have done this at their own expense.  I even received congratulations cards and notes tucked away which truly made me smile!

Here’s a photo of my monochromatic card that I won with.

Pals Paper Arts #200

Hey Everyone

I had a bit of a chance to craft today so I jumped at the chance to play along with Pals Paper Arts 200th Challenge – Happy 200th PPA!  This week Margaret has designed this fab sketch and PPA has also given us a twist – to create a monochromatic card.

PPA200sketch I decided to go monochromatic black before I really thought HOW black it would look when finished.  Not sure how many black flowers and black leaves you see together, but oh well, that’s what I get when I don’t really think things through!  Someone out there will probably like it – if not, then this one’s for you mum (mums have to like everything you do! lol)

Pals Paper Arts #194 & Retro Sketches #105

Hey Everyone

I’ve had a wonderful long weekend –  did lots of relaxing and a bit of card making.  One of the cards I made was combined for two challenges – the colour challenge at Pals Paper Arts and the sketch challenge at Retro Sketches.  Here are their inspiration pics:

Do you ever have those days when one card will work for you and then the next one doesn’t?  That was me today.  The card I’m sharing was the one that didn’t quite work for me – not sure why, but I’m just not feeling it…..  I did a bit of colouring on this card that I enjoyed.  Stampin’ Up!s Happy Watercolour is perfect if you want to have a go at it.  I then fussy-cut my stems out and raised them up on my card.  It was then that I realised I’d forgotten to add Smoky Slate to my card. So up my flowers came so I could sneak Smoky Slate in by adding some water splotches to the background.

Now you’re going to have to come back on Friday if you want to see the card I made today that I love!

Mojo Monday #322 & Pals Paper Arts #182

Hey Everyone

I’m loving the colour Smoky Slate at the moment.  The design team at Pals Paper Arts have a challenge with Smoky Slate and Elegant Eggplant in it, so I knew I had to play along.

PPA2182pic

I’m entering my card into Mojo Monday’s sketch challenge as I have used their layout for my card.  Don’t you just love this sketch?

Mojo322Sketch

The stamp sets I’ve used are Stampin’ Up! ones Evergreen and the cute little reindeer and sentiment are from a Hostess Stamp set called Warmth & Wonder.  I’ve almost run out of all my Elegant Eggplant DSP in my stack so I found some offcuts from a long ago retired pack called Lap of Luxury.  You’ll probably notice that I’ve used Whisper White instead of Very Vanilla? Well that’s because I didn’t study the challenge colours before I whipped up my card – sorry ’bout that!  My bow doesn’t quite look like Elegant Eggplant, but it is.  I don’t have an Elegant Eggplant re-inker so I had to run the seam binding over the ink pad with my fingers and by the time it dried, it came out with slightly pinkier tones.

Pals Paper Arts #180 & Dynamic Duos “Triple Threat Challenge” #80

Hey Everyone

This is my second post today – to see my earlier post you can click here.  The challenges I’m entering my card into are Pals Paper Arts and Dynamic Duos “Triple Threat Challenge”.  Here are their inspiration pics:

It’s been ages since I’ve used Stampin’ Up!s Secret Garden, so I’ve dusted it off and used it today.  The flowers are stamped in Raspberry Ripple and lightly coloured with my blender pen. The sentiment I’ve used is also a Stampin’ Up! one called Blooming with Kindness.  I found that when I went looking for some Blushing Bride DSP, I only had some off-cuts from a retired Hostess Gift pack (I think!).  I might have to get myself a new DSP stack in my next order.
