Create with Connie & Mary #173 & Inkspirations #93

Good Evening Everyone

I’m not gonna lie – the colour challenge at Create with Connie & Mary threw me. Because I was completely daft and couldn’t get a card started with the colours alone, I decided to team their colour challenge with the sketch challenge at Inkspirations Challenges.

This is what I came up with:

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #83

Hey Everyone

I’ve learnt my lesson from the last two weeks where I’ve missed the Inkspirations Challenges because I was too late – even though the linky thing said it still had 15 hours to go both times.  I got my A in gear and finished my card early so I don’t miss out again.

I received some pre-order stuff from the new catalogue which is available to order from 1st September.  I’m lovin’ having new colours and a couple of new stamp sets.  The colours I’ve used are Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder which are some of the new In-Colours. I think Pool Party could be my next go-to colour when I want to add some softness to the Basic Black that I always use.  As I don’t have any DSP in Pool Party as yet, I’ve stamped the flourish from Vintage Vogue in Pool Party to give it a little something.

This is what I came up with:

Thanks for stopping by.

Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder
Ink: Black Stazon, Pool Party

Inkspirations Colour Challenge #80

Hey Everyone

I made this card on the weekend but ran out of time to enter it because of another busy weekend. This week at Inkspirations Challenges is a colour challenge using the following colour palette.

Not my usual colours, but I found they still look very pretty together.  I think I may need an intervention on my use of Fifth Avenue Floral, but it’s my go-to stamp set when I want something flowery.

Thanks for stopping by.

Products Used:
Cardstock: Concord Crush, Pear Pizazz, Peach Parfait DSP, Whisper White
Ink: Concord Crush
Stamp Sets: Fifth Avenue Floral, So Swirly Wheel, Fast & Fabulous
Other Products: Concord Crush Ribbon, Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Dots Embossing Folder

Hey Everyone

My card tonight is for the Inkspirations Sketch Challenge and guess what? I’ve make something other than a female card!  I wanted to try out my Baby Tees Jumbo Wheel and have a baby’s card up my sleeve.  Of course I’ve made it in my neutral colours but I think they still work.

Here’s my card:

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #77

Hey Everyone

This week at Inkspirations we used the following sketch as inspiration to make our cards.

This is what I came up with:

This is a close up of the flower. For the leaves I’ve cut Basic Black cardstock into a leaf shape (yes black, I think I’ve created a new species of leaf but that was the colour that went the best!), crimped it and ran my bone folder down the middle to give it a crease.

Thanks for taking a look.

Products Used:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Basic Grey DSP
Ink: Black Stazon, Cherry Cobbler
Stamp Sets: Fifth Avenue Floral, Very Vintage Roller, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Other Products: Black Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Basic Pearls, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #75

Hey Everyone

If you have time this week there’s a fantastic sketch challenge over at Inkspirations Challenges. To play along, click here to take you to their challenge

I’ve used my favourite colours again – Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla. These are the colours I keep coming back to when I’m having a mental block and can’t think of a new colour combo.  As usual, I’ve daubed, torn and background stamped with the words from French Foliage with Crumb Cake – you can tell I love this effect coz I use it all the time.

Here’s my card:
