Viva la Verve Sketch, Shabby Tea Room #215 & The Friday Mashup #157

Hey Everyone

I’ve had such a productive card making weekend but haven’t had a chance to post anything until now as my son took over my laptop for pretty much the whole weekend.  I wrestled it from him tonight so I could get my posts done.

The challenges I’m entering my card into are Viva la Verve Sketch Challenge, The Shabby Tea Room Pastel Goodness Challenge and The Friday Mashup’s Challenge Seeing Dots Challenge.

I feel like I’m using the same stamps all the time so I reached for a little flower from Stampin’ Up!s Simple Stems that I haven’t used before now.  The leaves are made with my Stampin’ Up! Little Leaves Die and Crisp Cantaloupe DSP.  The dotted DSP in the background is from Fresh Prints Designer Series Stack and my sentiment is from Petite Pairs.  Here’s my card:

The Deconstructed Sketch #140, Create with Connie & Mary #292 & Friday Mashup #149

Hey Everyone

The card I’m sharing today I managed to sneak in for three challenges – The Deconstructed Sketch, Create with Connie & Mary and The Friday Mashup.

The challenge at the Friday Mashup is to create a project with flowers.  The flower I’ve used is from Stampin’ Up!s Flower Shop and the leaves are from Secret Garden.  The extra green foliage I’ve added was created by my new fabulous fringing scissors.  The scallop border was created by using my scallop border punch that I wrapped around the circle of Summer Starfruit DSP.  To get it to bend neatly I cut little knicks into the edge.

Stampin’ Royalty #208, SUO Challenge #87 & Friday Mashup #141

Hey Everyone

I am LOVING that I am on holidays and can head out to my craft room on a weekday! It’s so nice to not be rushing around on the weekend trying to get all my housework done and then make time for my cards.  I even got a couple of hours of shopping in this morning – (are you even more jealous Karren???).  I’m going to be quick with this post as I’m now off to watch a movie 😉

The card I’m sharing I managed to sneak in for 3 challenges – Stampin’ Royalty sketch challenge, SUO challenge where we create a project using the colours I think of when I think of January and the Tic Toc challenge at Friday Mashup where I create a project with the Theme of Time.

When I think of January, I think of my sisters birthday.  Her birthstone is a Garnet and because of this, red is her favourite colour – so that’s the main colour I went with on my card.  I was initially looking to use Clockworks for my card, but decided to ditch that idea when I came across Sense of Time first.  It is still one of my favourite retired Stampin’ Up! sets.  I then added the blossom from Morning Meadow and was really happy with the end result – I’m hoping my sister will be too! Retro Sketches #75 & Friday Mashup #121

Hey Everyone

I’m on a roll today as this is my second post.  I’m combining challenges again – this weeks sketch challenge at Retro Sketches and the inspiration challenge at The Friday Mashup.

How cute is this polka dotted beetle?  I think I want one!  I just received a new Stampin’ Up! order and in it was my new In-Colour DSP stack.  I think this spotted Strawberry Slush DSP works well for the challenge.  The second part of this challenge is to use the word “Happy”.  This was an easy addition for me.

Friday Mashup #42 & The Sweet Stop Sketches #142

Hey Everyone

The challenge at The Friday Mashup this week is to:

  • Make a project using “Paper Piercing”.
  • Or Make a project using the colors “Blushing Bride, Riding Hood Red & Early Espresso”.
  • Or “Mash it Up” and create a project with the “Colour Combo & Paper Piercing”.

I’ve combined this challenge with the sketch challenge at The Sweet Stop this week.  They’ve also given us extra challenge of creating a Valentine’s Day Card with a twist – use a non-traditional Valentine’s Day stamp.  I’ve whipped out my Favourite Teddy stamp set again as I don’t use it often enough. I inked up the balloons from Up, Up & Away and “tied” them to the teddy cart.  In the Favourite Teddy stamp set there’s an envelope with a heart that I inked up with Riding Hood Red with my blender pen – this seemed perfect for a Valentine’s Day card.

I was made a Mashup Glamette this week at The Friday Mashup with this card.

Colour Throwdown Challenge #174 & Friday Mashup #41

Hey Everyone

This card I’ve made is for the Colour Throwdown Challenge and for this weeks Friday Mashup Challenge.  These colours threw me for a while as they’re not colours I would normally combine – that’s what challenges are great for, making me get out of my comfort zone and try new things.

The challenge at Friday Mashup is to:

1.  Make a “Thank You” themed Project.

2.  Or Make a project “Using Designer/Patterned Paper”.

3.  Or “Mash it Up” and create a “Thank You project with Designer/Patterned Paper”.

Here’s what I came up with:
