Freshly Made Sketches #385

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  This weeks sketch has been designed by the wonderfully talented Kim Singdahlsen.

Stampin’ Up!s Everything is Rosy Product Medley will be available for demonstrators and customers to order from 1st May.  I’ve used the Everything is Rosy Stamp Set for my card and stamped the flowers and leaves in Melon Mambo, So Saffron, Pear Pizzaz and Old Olive Inks.  The sentiment I’ve used on my card is also from this stamp set – don’t you just love the words in this sentiment?

The die cut running down the side of my card is from the matching die set called Everything is Rosy Dies.  I’ve cut this in Whisper White Cardstock so the flowers stood out as the focal point on my card.

Here’s the card I created with the sketch:

We would love it if you could play along with Kim’s sketch.  Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and link up a card.  While you’re there, take a look at the wonderful inspiration that has been created by the design team.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #384

Hey Everyone

Welcome to the latest challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week our sketch has been designed by the uber talented Linda Callahan.

Can you believe I only recently received First Frost?  What was I thinking in not purchasing this when it first became available?  These flowers are just the sweetest! I’ve inked the smaller flower in Gorgeous Grape Ink and the larger flower is stamped in Highland Heather Ink.  The leaves are cut with dies that match the stamp set called Frosted Boutique Framelits Dies.  The sentiment I’ve used is from First Frost and the DSP I’ve added to the background is from Floral Romance Speciality Designer Series Paper.

Freshly Made Sketches #383

Hey Everyone

Welcome to another Wednesday and a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week our fab sketch has been designed the amazing Jen Mitchell.

I gave myself a challenge with this card.  On the corner of my desk, I have a pile of unused bits and pieces that I hold on to just in case I might use them on a future card. My mission was to see if I could create a card using only discarded products.  Every image, die cut, DSP and sentiment was taken from this pile, layered and adhered to my card. Card done in less than 10 mins!

The butterfly I used for my card was fussy cut from Botanical Butterflies DSP.  The spotted DSP was also from this DSP pack.  The Mossy Meadow fussy cut leaves are from Jar Of Love – I had just the right amount for my card leftover from another project.  I was thrilled that I had a Mossy Meadow sentiment from Petal Palette also sitting in the pile that I could use.  The little round doily type diecut was cut with Chase Your Dreams Framelits Dies.  The Highland Heather scalloped edge was cut with my Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies.

I’m sure if I tried this again, I couldn’t match a thing. I had fun doing it and it was actually quite satisfying dipping into this pile.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created wonderful cards.  Head over to the challenge and take a look at their gorgeous cards that will no doubt inspire you.

Freshly Made Sketches #382

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday, so that means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. This weeks sketch has been designed by the amazing Jennifer Timko.  We all adore her and love everything she creates.

This card came together so easy – mainly because I had this image already coloured on my desk discarded from a previous project. I then tied in my DSP and colours from the colours I’d already used on my flowers.  I took a piece of DSP from Botanical Butterflies and a sentiment from Needlepoint Nook.

The team have created wonderful cards. Pop over to Freshly Made Sketches and take a look.

Freshly Made Sketches #381

Hey Everyone

We have a new sketch for you to try at Freshly Made Sketches.  This weeks sketch has been designed by the wonderfully talented Lee Ann Barrett.

This weeks sketch lends to clean lines and lots of white space.  I’ve added a strip of DSP from Botanical Butterfly DSP matted with some Basic Black Cardstock to my Whisper White Cardstock base.  I then fussy a butterfly from the same DSP to place on my leaves cut with my Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies. These were made with Pear Pizzazz Cardstock.  I then adhered the sentiment with some Braided Linen Thread and some Basic Black Cord underneath. A very quick and clean card for once!

Freshly Made Sketches #379

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week our sketch has been designed by the talented Judy Rozema. Take a look at her fab sketch:

As soon as I saw the sketch, I knew I wanted to use Graceful Garden.  The roses match the sketch and gave me another chance to play around with colouring.  The colours I’ve used for my roses are Highland Heather and Elegant Eggplant Inks.  The leaves and stem are coloured with Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive Inks.

The base of my card is stamped with the background stamp from Graceful Garden in Black Stazon Ink.  I layered a strip of Basic Black Cardstock and a strip of spotted DSP from Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper.  I then took two pieces of Basic Black Bakers Twine and placed them across my card. I tied a bow with some offcut twine and adhered it to my card with a Glue Dot.  The sentiment I’ve used on my card is also from Graceful Garden – don’t you just love the font in this sentiment?

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have gorgeous cards with this weeks sketch.  Head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.  While you’re there, we would love it if you could link up a card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #378

Hey Everyone

Welcome to a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week our sketch hostess is the wonderfully talented Amy O’Neill.  I absolutely adore everything she creates.

After playing around for about an hour with different stamp sets and colour combinations, I finally went with Rooted in Nature for my card. The main reason it took me an hour to decide was because I was re-watching Stranger Things on Netflix, so my focus wasn’t initially on my card…..was too busy watching Eleven do her thing……

The colour combination I chose to use on my card was Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Sahara Sand.  I stamped the circular timber piece in Sahara Sand Ink and my leaves and trees are stamped with Bermuda Bay and Pool Party Inks.  This fab sentiment I’ve used on my card is also from Rooted In Nature and is stamped in Bermuda Bay Ink.  I added a strip of Bermuda Bay Cardstock that I offset under my sentiment.  I wrapped some White Bakers Twine around the end of my sentiment strip and then added some tiny Needlepoint Nook Buttons.

You can see that my layering is slightly off from Amy’s sketch, so I hope she’ll forgive me.

Here’s my card:

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created awesome cards with Amy’s sketch.  Head over to the challenge see what they’ve created.  You will be totally inspired to join in the challenge.
