Create with Connie & Mary #262 & Deconstructed Sketch #112

Hey Everyone

The design team at Create with Connie & Mary have a colour challenge that is new to me and luckily I received another Stampin’ Up! delivery today so I was able to join with my new Bermuda Bay ink.

The layout for my card is for the sketch challenge at The Deconstructed Sketch.  Love the layers on this sketch, so I’ll be using this one again.

I don’t have any Bermuda Bay designer series paper as yet (wish I could order the whole catalogue at once, then I would have so many choices at hand) so I created my own by swiping my ink pad over the de-bossed side of the spotted embossing folder and then ran some Very Vanilla cardstock through my big shot.  The Smoky Slate DSP is from Eastern Elegance and the Basic Black DSP is from Modern Medley.  Here’s what I came up with:

The Deconstructed Sketch #110 & Dynamic Duos #62

Hey Everyone

Jen at The Deconstructed Sketch has a great sketch this week that really challenged me – but I was really happy with my card in the end.  Here’s the sketch:

DS110sketch

I’ve combined the sketch challenge with the colour challenge over at Dynamic Duos.  Their black tie challenge this week is to create a card using Basic Black and Calypso Coral.  The option for us is to use Butterflies – I was up for the challenge to use them.

Stampin’ Royalty #181 & Deconstructed Sketch #106

Hey Everyone

I’m back for the third time today! I’ve been having a wonderful play in my craft room.

The design team at Stampin’ Royalty have an inspiration picture challenge this week that I found would work well for a masculine card.

SR181pic

I’ve combined the colours from the inspiration pic with this weeks sketch challenge at The Deconstructed Sketch.  Here’s Jen’s fabulous sketch:

DS106sketch

I’ve left the bow off from Jen’s sketch but have replaced it with a starfish that I moved slightly to the left.  Because the inspiration pic was very nautical, I’ve used Stampin’ Up!s Sail Away stamp set again.  You may not recognise a couple of the DSPs I’ve used.  I’m pretty happy with myself as I printed them off MDS.  The stripey one in the background is from a designer kit called Number One.  I’ve got no idea what the name of the burlap looking one is as when I went back to find the name of it, I couldn’t find it!  Oh well, it was one that was pre-loaded on MDS when I brought it. I was really chuffed with how they printed and know that if I have more time to look around MDS, I’ll be using it more often. Here’s my card:

Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #57 & Deconstructed Sketch #105

Hey Everyone

The card I’m sharing today is probably about a week late.  I started this card before I got my migraine and didn’t finish it until today.  Luckily for me the challenge at Inspired by Stamping is a two week challenge.  Here’s their inspiration pic:

IBSIC57pic

Also Jen at The Deconstructed Sketch leaves her challenge open for ages so I can still link it up.  Although I’ve just now realised I’ve left off the 3 embellishments on the bottom of the card – oops!

DS105sketch

I going through a Primrose Petals phase and found I love it teamed with Pear Pizzazz.  I’ve used my blender pen to lightly colour the flowers from Secret Garden – it also gives them more definition. Here’s my card:

Stampin’ Royalty #179 & The Deconstructed Sketch #104

Hey Everyone

I’m back with a second card today.  This time I’ve created a masculine card.  My nephew had a birthday yesterday and my brother-in-law’s birthday is next weekend.  I went into my man card stash and found that after I give them their cards, I have a total of zero cards left.  When I saw the challenge at Stampin’ Royalty was to create a masculine card, this spurred me into action to create one.

I’ve combined their masculine themed challenge with the sketch challenge at The Deconstructed Sketch.

DS104sketch

The designer series paper I’ve used is a retired Stampin’ Up! one called Well Worn that I have barely used.  The image I’ve used is from a retired Stampin’ Up! one called Classic Convertibles.  I thought the grunginess of the papers paired really well with the vintage car.

Deconstructed Sketch #99 & Stampin’ Royalty #173

Hey Everyone

I’m back with a second post tonight (can you tell I had the day off work and had time to play in my craft room? – love it when this happens!).

I’m combining a couple of challenges for my card – Deconstructed Sketch and Stampin’ Royalty.

SR173pic

I entered a challenge with these colours just last week, so these colours were a breeze to work with again. In fact I had my DSPs in these colours still on my desk – shows you I don’t clean my desk in between cards very often!  The roses I’ve created are made from Summer Starfruit DSP and cut with my largest circle punch.  I then loosely rolled them and stuck them together with Crystal Effects. Here’s what I came up with:

Inspired by Stamping #49 & The Deconstructed Sketch #92

Hey Everyone

If you love a challenge with really soft and pretty colours, the challenge over at Inspired by Stamping is for you. Their colours this week are Kraft, Light Pink & Green.

IBSIC49pic

I don’t make enough tags, so when I saw the sketch challenge at The Deconstructed Sketch I knew I would have to play along.  As soon as I sat down at my desk I reached for a tag I had made previously to get some inspiration and spilt my extra large latte all over it – grrrrrr not happy! I letting it dry to see how it looks – if it dries ok, then I may tell the person I’m giving it to that I meant to have a coffee stained look 🙂

The Deconstructed Sketch #84

Hey Everyone

The card that I’m sharing with you today is made for this weeks challenge at The Deconstructed Sketch:

DS84sketch

Gee I love this sketch – it’s so “me” with all those layers, so I knew I had to play along.  The colour combination I’ve gone for is Perfect Plum, Basic Black and Very Vanilla.  My card started off with the seam binding.  I’m going through a phase of dyeing my seam binding to match my Stampin’ Up! cardstock.  I then chose my designer series papers and stamp sets from there.  The stamp set I’ve used is called Summer Silhouettes and I’ve Rock’ n’ Rolled the flowers in Perfect Plum and Black Stazon to give them a little something extra.

Dynamic Duos #5 & Deconstructed Sketch #54

Hey Everyone

So everyone I know is at our Stampin’ Up! Convention this weekend.  I tried to ignore it because I’m spewy I couldn’t make it.  This didn’t work so I searched everyone’s blogs and stalked facebook just so I could get snippets of information of what’s been happening.  I decided this made me sadder I couldn’t attend, so I headed to my craft room to enter challenges instead – this has cheered me up!

Anyway enough about me, over at the Dynamic Duos their theme this week is Bold and Sassy.

I’ve probably never used these colours together ever, so when I started my card I figured I’d go safe with a feminine florally card – that didn’t work. So I browsed a few challenges and found this weeks Deconstructed Sketch.

As soon as I saw this sketch I changed my mind from a feminine card to a masculine card and because the sketch has so much going on, it was perfect for a man card.  I struggle with man cards purely because I can’t tizz them up with bows and bling.  This sketch was able to give me the “fullness” I like in a card

Here’s my card:
