Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #344, The Deconstructed Sketch #190 & SUO Challenge #117

Hey Everyone

Don’t you just love it when a card comes together with ease?  This was my card today.  I think it helps when you get inspiration from three different challenges – the colours from Create with Connie & Mary, the sketch from The Deconstructed Sketch and the “Create a Teen Card” from SUO Challenge.

I love these funky colours for a teen card and of course it has to have bling! Here’s my card:

The Deconstructed Sketch #164 & Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #85

Hey Everyone

After a bit of a slow start to my Sunday morning I headed out to my craft room to get myself inspired to create a card.  Sometimes cards just come together with ease and this was one of those cards.  The challenges I used to inspire me are The Deconstructed Sketch and Inspired by Stamping

I absolutely love this sketch of Jen’s. The layers are so me! The Stampin’ Up! stamp sets I’ve used are Happy Easter (don’t think I’ve actually used these tulips for an Easter card) and my sentiment is from a retired set called Simply Sketched. Here’s my card:

I got on a bit of a roll and even created a second card (which is a bit unusual for me!).  Must’ve been a bit gee’d up after a chat to a friend on Facebook this morning. ❤  I’ll be back later with that card once I fix it up a bit.

Thanks for stopping by.

The Deconstructed Sketch #155

Hey Everyone

I’m back with my second card today – click here to see my earlier card.  I find by the end of a day crafting, my last card is always a bit of a struggle.  My drained brain just doesn’t work as well by the time I get to my fourth card.  The challenge I’m entering my card into is the sketch challenge at The Deconstructed Sketch.

DS155sketch

Jen’s sketch is fabulous and it’s one I know I’ll be using it again.  I reached for some 2014 Stampin’ Up! SAB DSP called Sweet Sorbet and the flower is from Everything Eleanor. The background stamping I added is from Gorgeous Grunge and I also inked up my Hexagon Embossing folder and pressed it directly onto Whisper White cardstock. I then added the little butterfly from Kindness Matters.

The Card Concept #7, The Deconstructed Sketch #144 & IBSIC #80

Hey Again Everyone

I’m back with my second post tonight and this time it’s for The Card Concept.  Our challenge for you is to create a card with a butterfly theme – easy peasy right?

I found a retired Stampin’ Up! set called Nature Walk that had a butterfly in it that reminded me of the butterfly in the inspiration pic.  The layout for my card is from this weeks Deconstructed Sketch and the colours I’ve used are from the colour challenge at Inspired by Stamping.

The Deconstructed Sketch #141 & Colour Me Create Challenge #10

Hey Everyone

The card I’m sharing today is combined for two challenges – The Deconstructed Sketch and Colour Me Creative Challenge.

DS141sketch

CMCC10pic

I love a monochromatic card, but today I really struggled.  Old Olive is not a colour that I use much anymore so finding Old Olive designer series paper that worked for the sketch had me stumped.  In the end I’ve added Crumb Cake cardstock as a sort of buffer for the green.  The designer series papers I used is a retired Stampin’ Up! one called Cottage Walls DSP and the stamp set I’ve used is a Stampin’ Up! one called Blessed Easter.

The Deconstructed Sketch #140, Create with Connie & Mary #292 & Friday Mashup #149

Hey Everyone

The card I’m sharing today I managed to sneak in for three challenges – The Deconstructed Sketch, Create with Connie & Mary and The Friday Mashup.

DS140sketch

CCMC292pic

The challenge at the Friday Mashup is to create a project with flowers.  The flower I’ve used is from Stampin’ Up!s Flower Shop and the leaves are from Secret Garden.  The extra green foliage I’ve added was created by my new fabulous fringing scissors.  The scallop border was created by using my scallop border punch that I wrapped around the circle of Summer Starfruit DSP.  To get it to bend neatly I cut little knicks into the edge.

The Deconstructed Sketch #136 & colourQ #226

Hey Everyone

I just love Jen’s sketches from The Deconstructed Sketch as I think they fit my over-layered card style.  I’ve combined this sketch challenge with the colour challenge at colourQ.  Here are their inspiration pics:

DS136sketch

I’ve gone with some really old Stampin’ Up! designer series paper that I had stashed away in my cupboard.  I found some Pink Pirouette DSP back from when you could buy a whole pack of one colour and the chevron DSP is from a retired pack called Urban Oasis. I’ve also added a bit of Fan Fair DSP in there.  The flower stamp I’ve used is a new one from a set called Happy Watercolor and the sentiment is from Blooming with Kindness.  Here’s my card:

Stampin’ Royalty #210 & The Deconstructed Sketch #134

Hey Everyone

I said I wasn’t going to get out to my craft room until the weekend but it got the better of me and I decided to head out there first thing this morning.  I figured how hot could it be at 8.30am???  Let me tell you it was extremely hot – 36°C.  It’s going to hit 44°C before the change comes through at about 8pm tonight – I can’t wait!  Although I shouldn’t be sooking – it’s not like I’m one of the tennis players playing in the Australian Open at the moment.  I can’t believe they’re still playing in the heat!

I’ve combined challenges for my card – inspiration picture at Stampin’ Royalty and the sketch challenge at The Deconstructed Sketch.

Stampin’ Royalty #203 & The Deconstructed Sketch #128

Hey Everyone

Do you ever make a card that comes together really easy and that you feel really happy about?  This happened to me with this card.  Although my photo doesn’t really show the brightness of the Coastal Cabana DSP – it looks prettier in real life.

SR203 & DS128

The colours for my card where from taken from this weeks inspiration picture at Stampin’ Royalty.  I’m so in love with this colour combo!  I dug up some retired Stampin’ Up! DSP called Spice Cake and teamed it with some current Stampin’ Up! DSP called Aftrnoon Picnic.  The fabulous layout for my card came from this weeks sketch over at The Deconstructed Sketch.  Here are their inspiration pics:

Stampin’ Royalty #196 & The Deconstructed Sketch #121

Hey Everyone

I’m back!!!  We’re at the end of our school holidays in Melbourne and I’ve spent the last two weeks vacationing on the gorgeous Gold Coast.  Did you miss me???  We’ve just had the BEST time and have had probably had the most perfect weather ever in all of our years of holidaying there.  The theme parks are always fun (yes, I’m a theme park girl) and got to spend many hours lounging by the pool.  I better stop writing about my holiday because it making me want to go back – more so now because it’s raining outside as I type this post.

It felt like ages since I’ve made a card and initially I just sat waiting for inspiration to hit. I needed guidance for my card, so I found a colour challenge and a sketch challenge to get me going.  I’ve used the following inspiration pic from Stampin’ Royalty:
