Stampin’ Royalty #244 & Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #319

Hey Everyone

I love both of the challenges at Stampin’ Royalty and Create with Connie & Mary this week so I combined them for my card.  The challenge at Stampin’ Royalty is to create a Black and White card with a pop of colour.  Here’s the fabulous sketch from Create with Connie & Mary.

CCMC319sketch

I had a bit of a play with my blendabilities today.  Not sure if I’m much of a colourer but I’m persisting with them for the time being.  The Stampin’ Up! stamp set I’ve used is Bloom with Hope – it’s a great one for colouring.  The DSP I’ve used in the background is from Back to Black and I’ve used a smidge of Basic Black DSP.

Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #316 & Retro Sketches #128

Hey Everyone

I’m back with my second card today.  Bit proud of myself that I actually made two cards in one day!  I’ve combined my card for two challenges again – the colour challenge at Create with Connie & Mary and the sketch challenge at Retro Sketches.  Here are their inspiration pics:

Think I said it last time I used Blackberry Bliss, I’m in love with this colour!!! I’ve only used a smidge of Soft Sky, but it is there in centre of my flowers.  To give my flowers some definition and height, I squeezed each of the petals together.  Stampin’ Up!s Flower Patch is a fabulous set to use – it has matching dies so not much fussy cutting for once!  Here’s my card:

Create with Connie & Mary #306

Hey Everyone

The challenge at Create with Connie & Mary this week is a colour challenge.  Colour challenges always test me as I tend to overthink them.  I didn’t give myself a chance to overthink it as I was running out of time today and my card just fell together.  I might have to do that more often!

CCMC306pic

I’m trying out my clean and simple again.  The background dots and leaves are from my new Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Kinda Eclectic and the banners are from Amazing Birthday – both of which I received at Convention.  The flowers are from Petite Petals and my sentiment is from Petite Pairs.  Here’s what I came up with:

The Deconstructed Sketch #140, Create with Connie & Mary #292 & Friday Mashup #149

Hey Everyone

The card I’m sharing today I managed to sneak in for three challenges – The Deconstructed Sketch, Create with Connie & Mary and The Friday Mashup.

DS140sketch

CCMC292pic

The challenge at the Friday Mashup is to create a project with flowers.  The flower I’ve used is from Stampin’ Up!s Flower Shop and the leaves are from Secret Garden.  The extra green foliage I’ve added was created by my new fabulous fringing scissors.  The scallop border was created by using my scallop border punch that I wrapped around the circle of Summer Starfruit DSP.  To get it to bend neatly I cut little knicks into the edge.

Dynamic Duos #75 & Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #273

Hey Everyone

I’m back with another post.  This time I’ve combined my card for two challenges – Dynamic Duos where their challenge is to create a card using Tangerine Tango and Basic Black with the option of Halloween.

DD75pic

I’ve used this gorgeous sketch from Create with Connie & Mary for the layout of my card.

CCMC273sketch

I chose not to go with the option of Halloween (as I think I Halloweened myself out with my earlier projects – you can find them here) but I have used some retired Stampin’ Up! Halloween DSP called Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP.  I really love this striking striped DSP and am almost at the end of it which is a bit sad.

Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #271 & Pals Paper Arts #174

Hey Everyone

I’m back with another card.  This time I’ve combined my card for two challenges – Create with Connie & Mary Challenge and Pals Paper Arts.  Here are their pics:

I found this colour challenge a bit tricky so I decided to stick with the flowery sort of card I always end up making.  The stamp set I’ve used is a Stampin’ Up! one called Summer Silhouettes and the sentiment I’ve used is from Simply Sketched.  Here’s my card:

Mojo Monday #308, Create with Connie & Mary #266 & Stampin’ Royalty #191

Hey Everyone

I’ve managed to combine three challenges for my card today.  The sketch challenge at Mojo Monday, the colour challenge at Create with Connie & Mary and Stampin’ Royalty’s challenge is to create a project using circles.  Here are their inspiration pics:

I pulled out one of my favourite retired Stampin’ Up! sets called French Foliage.  You may be wondering where the Tangerine Tango is from Create with Connie & Mary’s colour challenge.  It’s there – I managed to sneak it in as sponging on my leaves to give them a more authentic leafy look.  The designer series paper I’ve used is from Eastern Elegance and the sentiment is from Express Yourself.  The ribbon I’ve used is a retired Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon – it’s amazing how many retired ribbons I’ve found when I went looking for this one.  Here’s my card:

Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #264 & Mojo Monday #306

Hey Everyone

I’m in love the colour combo over at Create with Connie & Mary this week!!!

CCMC264pic

I’ve teamed their colour challenge with the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday.  Here’s their sketch:

Mojo306Sketch

When I first saw Stampin’ Up!s 2013-2014 In Colours I seriously didn’t know if I was going to like them.  Not sure why because I am totally loving them now, especially Pistachio Pudding.  I tend to jump to the wrong conclusion on some products – ie. when I first saw Artistic Etchings, I said to a friend that I wouldn’t be ordering it as I didn’t think I’d use it.  How wrong could I be? – it’s one of my favourite vintagey sets. I need to learn to give things a go before I judge them.

I don’t have any new Blushing Bride DSP so I’ve used some retired off-cuts that I found in my stash.  I dyed my seam binding with Pistachio Pudding ink so that it matches my papers, added some leaves from Papaya Collage and the butterflies are from Papillion Potpourri.  I’m loving the softness of these colours and am really happy with my card.

Create with Connie & Mary #262 & Deconstructed Sketch #112

Hey Everyone

The design team at Create with Connie & Mary have a colour challenge that is new to me and luckily I received another Stampin’ Up! delivery today so I was able to join with my new Bermuda Bay ink.

CCM262pic

The layout for my card is for the sketch challenge at The Deconstructed Sketch.  Love the layers on this sketch, so I’ll be using this one again.

DS112sketch

I don’t have any Bermuda Bay designer series paper as yet (wish I could order the whole catalogue at once, then I would have so many choices at hand) so I created my own by swiping my ink pad over the de-bossed side of the spotted embossing folder and then ran some Very Vanilla cardstock through my big shot.  The Smoky Slate DSP is from Eastern Elegance and the Basic Black DSP is from Modern Medley.  Here’s what I came up with:
