Pals Paper Arts #319 & Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #425

Hey Everyone

I’m back with the second card I created today.  I’ve combined my card for two challenges – the colour challenge at Pals Paper Arts and the sketch challenge at Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.

This is such a pretty colour combination and one I haven’t used before.  I’ve lightly watercoloured the flower from Stampin’ Up!s Birthday Blooms after I embossed it with white embossing powder.  I’ve used the watercolour and droplet type stamps from Timeless Textures in the background.  Here’s what I came up with:

Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #421

Hey Everyone

I spent a lovely day yesterday wandering around Paperific (a great craft show in Melbourne) and met up with one of my fellow Just Add Inkers, Rochelle Blok. Rochelle is not only super creative, she is also a lovely person to chat to. I also caught up with a few of the Stampin’ Up! demos on the SU! stall. One of them was Simone Bartrum who is always lovely and even found a demo in Simone’s downline who lives about 10 minutes away from me. Her name is Rose and she is super sweet.  I mentioned that I’m having a bit of a lull in my creating so I decided that after a bit of a clean up of my desk, I would enter a challenge just to get my juices going again.

I found this fabulous sketch at Create with Connie & Mary.  I love everything about this sketch.

I seem to only use the black and white side of Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I thought was time to use the Melon Mambo side – even if it’s only a smidge of it. My flowers and leaves are created with Botanical Builder Framelits. The sentiment is one I had sitting on my desk and for the life of me, I can’t remember what set it’s from. If my craft room was in any sort of order, I might’ve found the stamp set! The background spots are from Swirly Bird. The centre of my flowers are Basic Pearls that I coloured with my retired blendabilities – had to use a variety of them just to get a colour similar to Melon Mambo.   Here’s my card:

Mojo Monday #447 & Create with Connie & Mary #406

Hey Everyone

A couple of people have asked me why I don’t make many of my vintagey over-layered style of cards anymore.  I think it’s a combination of time (well, lack of time – they really do take me longer to finish them) and also the negative comment that was left on my blog last year that all my cards looked the same in this style.  I’m going to try and find the time to mix up my cards so that I have a combination of both clean and vintage.

I’ve combined today’s card for two challenges – the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday and the colour challenge at Create with Connie & Mary.  Here are their inspiration pics:

Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #381

Hey Everyone

Today I’m playing along with Create with Connie & Mary Challenge where they have given us the following sketch to create our cards.

CCMC381sketch

The card I’ve created is kinda vintage-y with not only the retired Stampin’ Up! products I’ve used but with the colours and the distressed edges I’ve given it.  The colours I’ve used are Crumb Cake, Basic Black & Very Vanilla.  I dragged out my crimper again just for a bit of texture to the background and found some long-ago retired Stampin’ Up! DSP called Love Letter DSP for the stars. I’ve stamped a Christmas greeting from a retired set called That’s the Ticket.  To finish it off I’ve added some sequins, button, linen thread and a bow. I can’t even remember the last time I tied a seam binding bow! I have used quite a few old school products here but I can’t go past them for that vintage-y feel.

Mojo Monday #422, Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #380 & Stampin’ Royalty #302

Hey Everyone

Gee cleaning up your craft desk does wonders for your mojo!  I couldn’t wait to get in my craft room today and I even left it the same way as I found it – all nice and clean and ready for me next weekend!  I banged out my cards for my design team commitments for the week and then managed to create a card just for fun.  The challenges I’m entering my card in to are: Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge, Create with Connie & Mary Colour Challenge and Stampin’ Royalty’s Challenge where their theme is Stars.

As you know, I LOVE stars so this one was an easy one for me to put together.  Here’s what I came up with:

Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #344, The Deconstructed Sketch #190 & SUO Challenge #117

Hey Everyone

Don’t you just love it when a card comes together with ease?  This was my card today.  I think it helps when you get inspiration from three different challenges – the colours from Create with Connie & Mary, the sketch from The Deconstructed Sketch and the “Create a Teen Card” from SUO Challenge.

I love these funky colours for a teen card and of course it has to have bling! Here’s my card:

Pals Paper Arts #230 & Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #332

Hey Everyone

I saw the challenge at Create with Connie & Mary was to make a Gift Card Holder and decided I could make a head start on my Christmas gift card/money holders.  I’ve combined this challenge with the colour challenge at Pals Paper Arts – they’re the perfect colours for Christmas!

CCMC332pic

I have a confession – I’ve never used this retired Stampin’ Up! Christmas Stocking Die before. I’m hoping I’m not the only one that buys products thinking I’m going to use them – only for them to sit in the cupboard for possibly 3 years??? I made sure I used my new Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlits Dies.  I stamped the envelope with Endless Wishes in Baked Brown Sugar and the sentiment is from my Wondrous Wreath Framelits Dies. Quick and easy!

And look! I made more than one!

Hey Everyone

The card I’m sharing today is made for two challenges – Mojo Monday and Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  Here’s their inspiration pics:

I really love this colour combination and think it works so well for Christmas.  I’ve dragged out one of my favourite retired Stampin’ Up! stamp sets – Watercolour Winter.  I’ve combined it with a current sentiment from Ornamental Pine.

Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #323 & Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #86

Hey Everyone

I hope you’re all having a fabulous weekend.  It’s Sunday evening here in Australia and we have had the most beautiful weather over the weekend.  I almost didn’t to leave the sun to head into my craft room.  The card I’m sharing today is for the sketch challenge at Create with Connie & Mary and the colour challenge at Inspired by Stamping.

These are colours that you probably don’t expect for Christmas, but I thought I’d give them a go. I’ve used Stampin’ Up!s Ornamental Pine and the sentiment is from a retired set called Tiny Tags.  Here’s my card:
