Hey Everyone
Look at me! Posting twice in two days – I’m totally on a roll!
The card I made this afternoon is for two challenges – the sketch challenge at TGIF Challenges and the inspiration picture challenge at The Card Concept.
Here are the pics for their challenges:
My style of cardmaking changes all the time but I think this card might fall into the Classy and Elegant style. This card took me a couple of hours to make…..lucky I had that much time today to get it just right. The reason for my getting it just right is that I have a special someone in mind for this card and I always take extra time layering, colouring and messing around with placement when I’m putting together a card for someone who I know will cherish it.
I am in love with these roses from Graceful Garden and have watercoloured them and then used my markers to add definition to the deepest part of the petals. The colours I’ve used are Berry Burst and Powder Pink. The leaves are coloured with Old Olive and Always Artichoke.
I smooshed the background with Powder Pink and Crumb Cake Ink. After drying it off with my heat tool, I then stamped the ink splatters from Swirly Bird in Basic Black Ink. The pretty DSP I’ve used in the background is from Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper and my heat embossed sentiment is from Better Together. There is a lot of woodgrain in the inspiration pic but I have only used a strip of it under my sentiment. I’ve stamped Hardwood in Tip Top Taupe onto Crumb Cake Cardstock.
Here’s my card:
Thanks for stopping by.
Cheers
