Colour INKspiration #29

Hey Everyone

Welcome to another Colour INKspiration Colour Challenge Blog Hop!

If you have been hopping along you will have come from Mel Pagano’s awesome card.  If not, don’t worry you can follow the hop and start again.  Colour INKspiration is a Facebook Group where you can share your card and be inspired by the creativity there.

Take a look at these gorgeous colours we have for you to create your projects:

I was in love with these colours as soon as I saw them – they called out to my past vintage style.  After I completed my card I was trying to work out if my card still fit in the category of vintage……I’ve decided it could be considered “clean vintage” (if there’s such a thing!).

These roses from Graceful Garden definitely fit vintage.  They were the first set I thought of when I saw the inspiration pic. The sentiment and background stamp are both from Graceful Garden too.  For once I have used stamps from the one stamp set on my card!  The flowers and leaves are lightly watercoloured with my Aqua Painter.

The next hop along the way is the wonderfully talented Jacque Williams.  You’re going to love her project!

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

Just Add Ink #364

Hey Everyone

This weeks challenge at Just Add Ink is an inspiration picture.  I adore this photo – there are so many on trend elements you can use on your project.  I especially love the copper jug.

I tried to carry over as many of the elements from the pic as I could.  I’ve had my Stampin’ Up! Copper Foil Sheets sitting on my desk for a while now and thought this weeks challenge was the perfect time to use them.  Does anyone else not want to use products as you don’t want to waste them?  That’s me with these sheets – even though I know I can buy more…..

For the background of my card I ink up Hardwood with some Smoky Slate Ink and finger-walked the stamp over Whisper White cardstock.  The DSP paper is from a retired pack called Urban Underground Specialty DSP.  I’ve cut this circle with my Circle Framelits. The Whisper White circle is cut with my Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies.

The copper sentiment is a cut with a new-to-me die called Happy Birthday Thinlit Die. I know I will be getting a lot of use out of this one!  The leaves are cut with Stylish Stems Framelit Dies (retired) and Flourish Thinlits Dies.  The little yellow flowers are from Garden in Bloom and they are stamped in So Saffron.  I’ve used a strip of Copper Foil and Burlap Ribbon under everything, but you can only see a smidge of them.  I really must learn to cut a small piece for each end, rather than the whole piece…..that way I wouldn’t have to worry about wasting them! 😉

Here’s my card:

My Mummy’s 70th!

Hey Everyone

This week my mum has turned the big 70!  My mum is a huge lover of my vintage-y type cards so I made her this card to celebrate her special day.

The colours I’ve used on my card are Mint Macaron (oh I will miss this colour), Basic Black, Powder Pink, Crumb Cake and of course Whisper White.  The designers series paper I’ve used is now retired.  It’s from Urban Underground Specialty DSP.  The flowers, as you will have seen from the many times I’ve used it, is from one of my favourites and now retired sets called Penned & Painted.  The sentiment and numbers are from Memorable Moments.  The diecut leaves are made with Flourish Thinlits.  I had lots of fun going back to dirty and tatty edges with this card.  Anything for my mum!

Here’s my card:

Happy Birthday Mummy!  Hoping you have another fabulous 70 years ahead!

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #354

Hey Everyone

We have a gorgeous inspiration picture challenge at Just Add Ink for you this week:

I thought “vintage” as soon as I saw this photo and dragged out an old favourite retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Bloom with Hope.  I watercoloured the flowers with Blackberry Bliss and a touch of Hello Honey.  The leaves are coloured with Pear Pizzazz and Always Artichoke.  To add woodgrain to my circle I stamped Hardwood in Crumb Cake onto some Crumb Cake cardstock.  For the background, I applied my Crumb Cake Ink pad directly to my mat and spritzed it with water. I then put my cardstock directly onto it and heated it with my heat tool to dry it off.

Just Add Ink #342

Hey Everyone

This is our final challenge at Just Add Ink for 2016.  Our challenge for you is to:

Just Add N

I could’ve scrapbooked a page with just my on it, but as I’m not a scrapbooker I’ve gone with a couple of N’s on my card – I’ve used Night of Navy DSP and used N sentiments. I love this vintage Santa from Stampin’ Up!. He’s from a set called Father Christmas.  He and vintage go together, so I have created a vintage Christmas card.

Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #339

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink.  This week I designed the sketch and as usual, I stumbled when it came time to sit down and put something together…..  Don’t know why I don’t design a card without the pressure of a sketch and then take the sketch from that! Does that make sense???

I wanted to use Stampin’ Up!s Father Christmas – a set that hadn’t seen ink until this card. Do you ever really want to use a set and then when it comes time, you don’t know how to use it? That was me with this card.  The background trees and sentiment are from a set called Christmas Magic.  Here’s what I came up with:

ColourQ Challenge #360 & Viva la Verve Sketch Challenge

Hey Everyone

I managed to organise myself this weekend and found time to play along with some challenges.  I’ve combined my card for the following two challenges – the colour challenge at colourQ and the sketch challenge at Viva la Verve.

It’s been ages since I’ve gone with a worn and torn/vintagey type card.  I forgot how messy I get my fingers when I sponge! Here’s my card:
