Freshly Made Sketches #397

Hey Everyone

This weeks sketch at Freshly Made Sketches has been designed by the super talented Kim Singdahlsen.  I used her fab sketch to design a 1st birthday card for my great-nephew Cooper.

I’ve had Animal Outing sitting on my bookcase waiting to be inked up for a while now.  I knew straight away that it would be perfect for lil Coopy boy and his birthday card.  It turned out to be super perfect as my niece organised a jungle themed birthday party and my card fit the theme – without me even knowing the theme!

I gave each of the animals a quick colour (and a mean a very quick watercolour) and punched out the images to fit the circles from the sketch.  The embossed sentiment is also from this stamp set.  I fussy cut the sentiment and layered each one next to an animal. I added some strips of Smoky Slate and Mossy Meadow Cardstocks. I then added a Mossy Meadow leaf and some Linen Thread to finish off my card.  In the end it was a really quick and easy to create.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches has designed awesome cards using this weeks sketch.  Head over to the challenge and take a look.

Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team – Sale-A-Bration Coordination Blog Hop

Hey Everyone

This time of year is an always exciting time of year. Why? It’s Sale-A-Bration time!  As you all know Sale-A-Bration products have been available to us for a few weeks now.  Well now there is more exciting news! Sale-A-Bration Second Release Items and Sale-A-Bration Coordination Products are coming your way!

The Stampin’ Up! Artisan Team are featuring products from both the Sale-A-Bration Coordination Promotion and Sale-A-Bration Second Release items with a blog hop. The coordination promotion features brand new products that coordinate perfectly with select Sale-A-Bration items. These products are only available for a limited time. As a demonstrator we can pre-order these goodies from 1st February – 28th February.  So think about purchasing them early to start planning for your classes or workshops. You can let your customers know that these products are available for them to order from 1st March – 31st March.

From the Sale-A-Bration Coordination Promotion I’m featuring Call Me Cupcakes Thinlits Dies on my cards.  These dies coordinate with the Hello Cupcake Stamp Set.  Matching stamp set and dies are the perfect products to showcase at a workshop or class. Any level of crafter will find the images easy to stamp. Once the images are run through the Bigshot, they can layer them together to create cupcake goodness!

I chose the colour combination of Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Whisper White for my cards.  The base of the cupcake is stamped with Crumb Cake Ink.  The icing image is stamped with Bermuda Bay Ink and the bottom layer of icing is stamped in Pool Party Ink.

My first card has lots of layers.  I stamped the confetti stamp randomly on Pool Party Cardstock and placed it on the base of my card.  I then embossed a piece of Bermuda Bay Cardstock with my Lace Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder and placed a circle of Vellum Cardstock over it.  I then diecut those cute little candles and used my Watercolor Pencils to give them life.  How cute is the little cupcake topper?  This little topper was created with one of the dies from Call Me Cupcake Thinlits Dies. The cake stand is make from a piece of Silver Foil Sheet.  The sentiment I’ve used is also from the Hello Cupcake Stamp Set.  I fussy cut the sentiment out and placed it over the base of the cake stand as it looked a little bare when I had it placed higher.

What’s better than one cupcake? Two cupcakes of course!  I used the confetti stamp this time randomly on the card base this time.  I layered the cupcakes over Bermuda Bay and Pool Party Cardstocks and added the same sentiment from Hello Cupcake Stamp Set.  I used the circle cupcake topper from the die set on this card and also the same candle die as my previous card.

The next blog to hop to is my fellow Artisan Design Team Member from Melbourne, Rochelle Blok.  Rochelle is all about elegant layering and all things pretty.

If you get lost along the way, I’ve listed all of our fabulous Artisan’s links to their blogs below.  All you need to do is click on their name to visit their blogs and their fabulous creations.

Just Add Ink #433

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge for you at Just Add Ink.  This week is colour challenge week and we have the following fun colours for you to try.

These colours said teen girl card to me as soon I saw them.  The combination is really pretty and a fresh change from my constant love of neutrals.  The Berry Burst and Whisper White circles are cut on my Bigshot with Chase Your Dreams Framelits Dies.  I also cut my feathers with the dies from this set.  The sentiment I’ve used is my favourite for this size circle punch – the sentiment is from Picture Perfect Birthday.  The Berry Burst ink splatters in the background are from Timeless Textures.   I used some Linen Thread to the base and tied a bow to anchor down the feathers.  I then finished off my card with a Share What You Love Artisan Pearl.

The team at Just Add Ink have all used this colour combination in different ways.  We would love to see how you use them on your project.  To see all the wonderful inspiration the JAI girls have come up with, and to link up a card, head over to Just Add Ink.

Fusion – Galaxy Challenge

Hey Everyone

I challenged myself this weekend to clean my craft room so I would have some idea of just how much craft stuff I have in my room.  I’ve lost a stamp set, and quite possibly my dog, so it’s essential I get it in to order.  I failed my clean up challenge as I made this card instead.  I will try and clean my room tomorrow…..

The card I made is for a cool challenge at Fusion Card Challenge .

I’ve chosen to use both the sketch and the inspiration pic for my card.

We dream at night, right? This starry themed DSP from Twinkle Twinkle DSP made me think of dreams. So I figured Follow Your Dreams Bundle was the perfect choice for my card.  Also, I have no alien/space type stamp sets, so a dreamcatcher was all I had to go with…..

The dreamcatcher in the background is stamped with Smoky Slate Ink. I ran the image and my framelit through the bigshot to cut the image out.  I then took some Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock and cut out the smaller dreamcatcher. I layered this diecut over the stamped image and stuck them together. For the centre of the catcher, I added a tiny Artisan Pearl.  I stamped three feathers in Pool Party, Night of Navy and Lemon Lime Twist Inks and adhered them to the side of the catcher with some Pool Party Bakers Twine.

The intricate circle to the side of my dreamcatcher is also cut with framelits from Chase Your Dreams Framelits Dies.  For this, I used Pool Party Cardstock.  I then stamped the row of flowers and gave them a very light watercolour with Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party Inks – to keep with the same colour theme.

I added some strips of Whisper White and Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock under my sentiment.  I keep all my cut offs for occasions just like this. It always feels good when you can use them up instead of throwing them away.

Oh and don’t worry about the dog.  She appeared from my messy space once she got hungry! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #348

Hey Everyone

I am always thrilled when it’s Wednesday. Mainly because we get to play along with a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, but also because I’m closer to the weekend and that means craft room time!

Our sketch hostess this week is Jennifer Brum.  If you haven’t been over to her blog, you need to so you can see her gorgeous cards.  But first, take a look at her wonderful sketch:

In my last Stampin’ Up! order I received Follow Your Dreams Bundle.  The dream catcher is cut with my Chase Your Dreams Framelits Dies and has two layers – one in Whisper White and one in Silver Foil.  The feathers are also cut from the dies in this Framelit set.  I initially cut and stuck down a Silver Foil sentiment, but felt it didn’t stand out enough from the background, so I then cut one in Basic Black Cardstock and offset it slightly from the Silver Foil to create a silver shadow.  I like how the sentiment stands out more now and ties in with the black feather.

The designer series paper squares are from a pack that I just cracked open and am already loving called Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper.   The papers in this pack are sooooooo pretty and I can’t wait to create a baby card using some of these papers.

Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #417

Hey Everyone

For two nights last week I tried to create a card for this weeks Just Add Ink challenge – I failed, until now.  The challenge at Just Add ink for you is to:

I tried two different types of tree cards and even gave the images I’ve used on my card below a try and for some reason a card using something with a T wasn’t happening.  I was determined to create a card and tonight I finally finished off a card.

The theme I’ve chosen is a teen card.  The cool images I’ve used below are from a 2018 Sale-A-Bration stamp set called Epic Celebrations – perfect for a teen card.  I’ve added lots of layers and background stamping to fill up my card – no CAS card here….

There’s still time to play along with our challenge at Just Add Ink.  Pop over to the challenge and see the fabulous inspiration the design team have created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #401

Hey Everyone

How about a sketch challenge?  We have a great one for you at Just Add Ink!  Take a look at this weeks fabulous sketch:

I’ve stayed away from a floral stamp set – just to prove to myself that I can! Florals will always be my first choice when I sit down to create a card.  This week I’ve chosen to create a fun birthday card with candles.  The candles and sentiment I’ve used are from Stampin’ Up!s Picture Perfect Birthday.  The inks I’ve used for my candles are – Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral and Lemon Lime Twist.

The Pool Party Cardstock in the background is stamped with the confetti like stamp in Bermuda Bay Ink.  Initially I just had the cardstock uninked, but it looked a tad plain to me.  I kind of think it looks like a DSP and was able to match the colours in the candles.  This card would be a good card for a class as it can show your class that you can create a card without buying DSP to match.  I added some Pool Party Bakers Twine and some Gold Sequin Trim under my circle layer to give my card a fullness and details that I like to give my cards.

Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #385

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge at Just Add Ink for you. This week is inspiration picture week. How pretty is this one?

You’d think I would automatically think flower card with this challenge, but I decided to change it up and go for a fun birthday card using colours from the pic in my cardstock and images.

My balloons are from a stamp set called Birthday Bright and my party blower (if that what’s it’s called?) and my sentiment are from Picture Perfect Birthday.

As always, the team have created cards that will surely inspire you.  Head over to Just Add Ink and take a look.

Freshly Made Sketches #321

Hey Everyone

I’m back today with a card for the latest challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  This weeks sketch has been designed by Jen Brum – my friend who creates gorgeous clean cards with striking colour combinations.  Here’s her great sketch:

I have a great niece (that I love to bits) who is going to turn 2 soon, so I used Jen’s layout to create her birthday card.  I’ve been hanging to use Perfect Pandas and thought Jen’s was a perfect opportunity to give these sweet panda’s some ink. The designer series paper I’ve used in the background is from Bundle of Love Speciality Designer Series Paper.

The number 2 that I stamped in the balloon is from a retired Stampin’ Up! set call Memorable Moments.  The 2 fit perfectly in my balloon.

Here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #316

Hey Everyone

Time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  This weeks sketch has been designed by the uber talented Jennifer Timko. She creates fabulous sketches and uh-mazing cards.  Head over to her blog and take a look at her wonderful creations.  Here’s this weeks sketch:

One of great things about attending a Stampin’ Up! Onstage Event is seeing and receiving products from the upcoming Occasions Catalogue.  The stamp set I received for attending Onstage is called Picture Perfect Birthday.  This set is all about birthdays and I’ve chosen the candles, bow, confetti background stamp and sentiment from this set.  The candles are a two step stamping image.  The first one is stamped in Blushing Bride and Berry Burst and the second one, as well as the bow, is stamped in Pool Party and Bermuda Bay.  The confetti in the background is stamped in Blushing Bride.  I then added a strip of Vintage Crochet Trim across my card.  The “cue the confetti” sentiment is embossed on Basic Black cardstock and the sentiment on my circle is stamped with Basic Black Archival Ink.

Here’s my take on Jennifer’s sketch:
