Freshly Made Sketches #272

Hey Everyone

So it seems my bad week from last week has carried on to this week.  I completely forgot to schedule this post for Wednesday!  I’m going to blame being on holidays as I have totally lost track of days.

This weeks cool sketch at Freshly Made Sketches has been designed by the very talented Cecile Ribon!

I’ve used Stampin’ Up!s Balloon Adventures for my card.  It gave me another chance to use my new Watercolor Pencils.  Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #337

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge for you at Just Add Ink. Our challenge for you is to:

Just Choose Two –

Doily or Die Cut or Designer Designer Paper

This is going to be an easy one to play along with!  I’ve chosen two patterns of designer series papers from Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack.  I’m in love with these papers!  They will be available from the new Occasions Catalogue in January.  I’ve paired the papers with a stamp set that will also be available next year called Balloon Adventures. This stamp set coordinates with Balloon Pop Up Thinlits.  From these thinlits I’ve used the loopy present topping die and cut two of them to create a doily effect.

Here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #232

Hey Everyone

It’s my turn to host the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  Whenever it’s my turn, I plan the sketch with no thought of what card I want to design.  When it comes time to put a card together, I struggle with designing a card!  I kept the sketch simple (for once) but it still took me forever to finish my card. Here’s my sketch:

Freshly Made Sketches #230

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is the super talented Jen Brum.  Head over to her blog and take a look at her gorgeous cards.

I used this sketch to create a card for my niece who had a birthday last week.  The colours I’ve used are Whisper White, Basic Black and Calypso Coral.  To create the black thread I donned some gloves and inked up some Stmapin’ Up! Linen Thread by running the thread with my fingers over a Basic Black ink pad.  It’s a messy job if you don’t use gloves!

Just Add Ink #303

Hey Everyone

We have a challenge at Just Add Ink for you that will help you if you need to create your Easter projects. Or if you’re like me, and don’t need any, go with something completely different.   Our challenge for you is to:

Just Add E

As I don’t really do Easter cards, I looked around in my stash until I found something else I could use that started with the letter E. I came upon this retired Stampin’ Up! stamp called Elebration.  I’ve had it for a few years and never mounted it!  In fact I accidentally bought two of them and have had them sitting in my hardly-ever-used stamp set cupboard ready to sell one day.   Now that I’ve used it, I think it’s a very sweet elephant and had my very sweet great-niece in mind when I made this card.  She’s going to be 3 this year and even though it’s not a Peppa Pig card, I think she’ll like it. Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #301

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink. Nikki has suggested this fun challenge. Our challenge for you is to:

Just Add Numbers

I found I haven’t been using a lot of DSP on my cards lately.  I’ve been going for cleaner style of card and I’ve been forgoing the layers of DSP I once used.  The stash I have never seems to get smaller.  I chose this retired DSP from Go Wild Designer Series Stack and designed my card around it.  The number was cut using my Large Number Framelits and the “You” was from the Stampin’ Up! stamp set For You.  The word “Celebrate” is from a retired set called Express Yourself. I repeatedly stamped it using a ruler as a guide (trying to get it as straight as possible).

Here’s my card:
