The Challenge #27

Hey Everyone

I’m here with a card that I created for The Challenge – a bi-weekly challenge where I am featured designer for the month of March.  You can use the colours or sketch from the pic below or you can combine both.  I chose to combine both:

The Challenge #27pic

I thought it was time to create a baby card.  I really don’t make them enough and I thought these colours would work well for little girls card. I tried to keep it simple and I think I achieved this (for once!). The sweet bunny and sentiment are from a Stampin’ Up! set called Baby We’ve Grown.

Mojo Monday #372

Hey Everyone

I’ve had such a busy weekend but somehow I have managed to complete all my Design Team commitments for the week, design cards and cut cardstock for a class next weekend AND create two cards for fun! Don’t you love it when things just fall into place?

The card I’m sharing today I made for the sketch challenge at Monday Monday.

I’ve seen this retired Stampin’ Up! teddy stamp around for years and thought he would be  perfect for colouring.  I was browsing around on Ebay a couple of weeks ago and found it quite cheap.  I decided I needed it for future baby cards as I always get requests for them and never have any up my sleeve.

Just Add Ink #203

Hey Everyone

Paula’s sketch at Just Add Ink this week is a great one! Take a look:

JAI203sketch

I haven’t made a baby card in ages so I thought it was about time I added to my stash.  Coastal Cabana is probably one of my favourite In-Colours at the moment (you could probably tell that with how much I’ve used it lately!).  I decided it would be a fab colour for a neutral baby card.  I’m a bit surprised that with how much I love this colour that I haven’t yet purchased matching ribbon.  Normally I would throw a bit of ribbon on my card to finish it off, but as I’ve been slack in ordering, I’ve used my new fringing scissors to add a border for a bit of interest.  I also got to use my new Stampin’ Up! set called Baby We’ve Grown. How cute are these little owls? The designer series paper I’ve used is a new one too from Stampin’ Up!s 2014 Occasions Catalogue called Retro Fresh DSP.

Freshly Made Sketches #101

Hey Everyone

This weeks sketch at Freshly Made Sketches is brought to us by the fabulously talented Linda.

FMS101sketch

My niece came to see me a little while ago and told me she was having her first baby – of course I cried (I’m sure they’ll never let me forget that!).  I’ve use this weeks sketch to create a card for her baby shower.  The colours she’s having for her party are pink and purple so I’ve used some Strawberry Slush and Wisteria Wonder DSP and the stamp set I’ve used is a retired Stampin’ Up! one called A New Little Someone.  Here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #84

Hey Everyone

Another Wednesday is here so that means a new sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week Linda Saurez is our hostess. Here’s her great sketch that at the start had me thinking…

FMS84sketch

In my effort to try and mix up my cards so that I’m not always creating feminine florally ones, I decided to make a baby card.  I felt that Linda’s sketch was the perfect choice for to create one. The designer series paper I’ve used is a from a retired Stampin’ Up! pack called Nursery Nest.  The card base is Elegant Eggplant and I’ve teamed this with a bit of colouring with Pear Pizzazz ink on the babies toys.  The stamp sets I’ve used are retired Stampin’ Up! ones called Favourite Teddy,  Best Yet and A New Little Someone.

We’d love for you to join us this week at Freshly Made Sketches, so head over to the challenge and link up a card.  While you’re there, check out the gorgeous inspiration from the Design Team.

Just Add Ink #159

Hey Everyone

This weeks Just Add Ink Challenge was suggested by the talented Kim.  Our challenge for you is to:

Just Add…….A Bunny

Now, you can create any project as long as you add a bunny.  I don’t actually give out Easter Cards so I created a baby card for this challenge.

We are given our challenges in advance so I knew this challenge was coming up – do you think I thought about ordering a stamp set with a bunny in it so it would get here in time?  No, I forgot until last week so I’ve been stalking the postman.  A box arrived and before I could open it, my husband told me it wasn’t mine.  It belonged to someone else in our small court of 24 houses.  Imagine my surprise, when I went to deliver her box, that I found there’s another Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator living in the same court!  Stampin’ Up! demos are so supportive of each other – she offered to lend me her Everyday Bunny stamp set without even knowing me! I thanked her but said mine would probably arrive the next day. It didn’t 😦  Instead of bugging her, I asked my sister-in-law Jules if I could borrow a retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set I knew she had called A New Little Someone. I just love this bunny in this set.

Here’s what I came up with:

Just Add Ink #133

Hey Everyone

Nikki has come up with this weeks challenge at Just Add Ink.  Our challenge is to create a project using Mustard and Metallics.  It’s not my week for my design team duties but I decided to play along to test myself with a colour that I don’t often use.  I’ve chosen to make a baby card using More Mustard as I think it’s a neutral kind of colour that can be used for a boy or girl. My favourite baby set at the moment is a retired Stampin’ Up! set called Bundle of Joy.  I’ve lightly coloured the giraffe and teddy using a blender pen and ink and fussy cut them out.  I raised them up to add dimension to my card and finished it off with brads, a balloon and Very Vanilla satin ribbon.

Here’s my card:

I hope you can join us this week at Just Add Ink – head over to the challenge and check out the fabulous cards the girls have created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #43 & Create with Connie & Mary #210

Hey Everyone

I’m back with another card tonight!  Tui provided us with this fabulous sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week:

I’ve flipped this sketch on it’s side to create my card and I’ve also used the challenge colours from Create with Connie & Mary to finish it off.

I used a retired Stampin’ Up! baby stamp set that I have, called Bundle of Joy – I think this giraffe is the cutest!

Thanks for stopping by.

Dynamic Duos #9

Hey Everyone

My card tonight is my second entry into this weeks Dynamic Duos challenge and it’s my second baby card for this challenge – unusual for me to make one baby card, let alone two!  One of my friends at work is having her first baby so I was asked to make a card for her last day on Thursday. I was more than happy to make a card for Erin and her husband as she’s the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet.

In case you were wondering about the size of this one, it’s a big one – we have a lot of staff in our Emergency Department so I needed a big card to get everyone’s congratulatory (is that a word?) comments on there.  Just need to find an envelope to fit it in now……..

Thanks for taking a look.
