CAS(E) This Sketch #183

Hey Everyone

I have no man cards in my stash!  I needed a card today and though I had at least one in the piles and piles of cards I have in my craft room – but there were none!  In the timeframe I had to make my card, I decided clean and simple was the way to go.  Case This Sketch is always the perfect place to start for my CAS cards.

The stripes in the background are from a stamp set called Work of Art.  The colours I’ve stamped them in are Early Espresso, Tip Tope Taupe and Crumb Cake.  The starfish is stamped in Early Espresso and Crumb Cake.  This stamp is from Picture Perfect and the sentiment is from Sunshine Sayings.  I’ve heat embossed this sentiment on Early Espresso cardstock.   Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #290

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge at Just Add Ink today.  Our pretty colour challenge has been suggested by Chantell. I can’t wait to see what you create with this combo.

Whenever I need to combine more than a couple of colours, I’ve found the easiest way is to start with a white background.  I managed to squeeze the majority of the challenge colours on to my card by stamping stripes from Stampin’ Up!s Work of Art set.  I then only had to add some flowers and the final challenge colour, green, for my leaves.  I have used a black sentiment (not a challenge colour) but a black sentiment stood out better.

Here’s my card:

I’ve opened a new-to-me Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Happy Hooray for my card today – the feathers are stamped from this set.  The inky smudge and sentiment are from Work of Art and the butterfly is from Kinda Eclectic.

Freshly Made Sketches #145

Hey Everyone

It’s time for another sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and this week our hostess is me! I finally mastered a sketch using MDS (with the help of Jennifer – thanks Jennifer!). I have tried to use it before but have always ended up chucking it in and ended up creating my sketch in Powerpoint instead. This time I persisted – yay for my persistence!

As usual my card started off with one theme and totally ended up with another theme.  I’ve had a few requests lately for masculine cards and I thought the sketch would work just as well for a man card as the feminine florally card I originally had in mind. The stamp sets I’ve used are Positively Chevron, The Open Seas, Gorgeous Grunge the sentiment is from Work of Art – I’m loving it at the moment.
