Global Design Project #245

Hey Everyone

I had some time today play along with the latest challenge at Global Design Project.  Their challenge is to create a project with three fabulous Stampin’ Up! 2020-2022 In Colours.

Timeless Tropical Stamp Set was my set of choice for this challenge.  I gave my Frangipani images the old rock and roll technique.  For this, I inked up the image first with Bumble Bee Ink and then rolled the edges of the stamp in Magenta Madness Ink. The leaves have been stamped with Just Jade Ink – a colour that I think I may be in love with.

The sentiment I’ve added to my card is from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set and has been stamped in Black Memento Ink. The DSP circle I applied to my card is from the 2020-2022 In Colour 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper pack. I then added a Whisper White Cardstock embossed with my Scripty 3D Embossing Folder. Three 2020-2022 In Colour Enamel Dots in Just Jade were adhered to the card in a triangle-type shape.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #430

Hey Everyone

We have a new sketch for you at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week our sketch has been designed by the talented Jacquie Southas.

Before I started my card, I’d decided to use a different colour combination for me.  I chose Petal Pink and Call Me Clover – a combination I haven’t used before.  In fact, Call Me Clover would be the only green that hasn’t seen much ink on my projects. In order of greens, I would reach first for Pear Pizzazz, then Old Olive, Mint Macaron and then Soft Sea Foam.

I like to rotate my floral stamp sets so they all get a bit of love from me and so you don’t see the same images over and over on my cards. It was time that I used the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set and especially this Hibiscus Flower image.   I stamped the flowers in Black Memento Ink and then coloured the petals with Petal Pink Blends and Mango Melody Blends.  I took my Smoky Slate Blends and added colour around the centre of the flower to create depth to the image. The leaves have been coloured with my Call Me Clover Blends.

I used this script piece of DSP from Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper, because it’s Petal Pink and because I love it so much!  I added a Call Me Clover Cardstock diecut, cut with my Stitched Nested Labels Dies. I love me some bling, so I added some Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels. Finally, I had a wood edgelit from the Country Club Elements sitting on my desk, so it got added to my card.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created wonderful cards using this weeks sketch.  Pop over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Just Add Ink #491

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge at Just Add Ink for you.  This week is inspiration picture week.  I am loving the softness to this photo and it makes me want one of those pink beach houses!

The created I card has palm trees and pink/purple tropical flowers.  I daubed the background with Sahara Sand Ink to mimic the sandy beach.    The stamp set I used is for my is called Timeless Tropical Stamp Set. The reason I chose this set is because of the palm trees and hibiscus flowers – it matched the picture perfectly!

To create longer palm trees, I cut the stems and hid the joins with my flowers and sentiment. To colour the palms, I applied Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Early Espresso Markers directly to the stamp.  I used my breath to huff on the stamp before stamping it on to Whisper White Cardstock.  I repeated this process so I had two sets of palms to fussy cut out.  I then inked up my flowers with Black Memento Ink and coloured them with Flirty Flamingo and Purple Posy Blends.

The sentiment I used on my card is also from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set.  I cut this sentiment into two before placing them amongst my layering. I added some Linen Thread to finish off my card.

The team at Just Add Ink have created wonderful cards using the picture for inspiration.  Head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #415

Hey Everyone

Sketches are my favourite way to start creating a card.  Sketch challenges were the first challenges I entered after I started my blog.  Freshly Made Sketches always has awesome sketches if you need ideas on a layout for your projects.  This weeks awesome sketch was designed by me!  Actually, I may’ve thrown this sketch together at the last minute, so not sure if it’s all that awesome…..

The card I’ve created uses a new-to-me stamp set called Timeless Tropical Stamp Set.  I coloured my hibiscus flower with a combination of Real Red and Mango Melody Blends.  I then added some shadows with my Smoky Slate Blends.  The leaves and palm trees have been stamped with Pretty Peacock Ink and fussy cut out.  As the palm tree image is actually shorter than what I wanted for my card, I trimmed of the lower stems and lengthened the look of the trees by hiding the gap under the flower.  The sentiment I’ve used is also from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set.  To give my background a beach-y theme, I daubed Balmy Blue Ink from top to bottom of my card.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have made my sketch look GOOD! Pop over to the challenge and see how creative they are!
