This weeks Pals Paper Arts Celebrity Colour Challenge is to make a masculine card. When I saw the colours I initially thought I would make a nautical themed card, but as I debated about the layout I changed my mind and came up with the following:
It was only after I finished my entry did I realise I’ve used more brads in this card than I used in last weeks PPA brad challenge! Could’ve entered this one last week!!!
Thanks for taking a look.
Cardstock: Night of Navy, More Mustard, Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard DSP
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Stamp Sets: Sense of Time, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Other Products: Antique Brad, Hemp Twine, Jumbo Brads, Tag Punches, Circle Scissor Plus, Lattice Embossing Folder
The challenge over at Mojo Monday this week is Round or Square. I chose square this week from the design below. I love design challenges as all the hard work is done for you.
The colours I’ve used are Basic Black, Very Vanilla & Elegant Eggplant DSP. I haven’t used Elegant Eggplant for ever – this has been my mission lately to re-visit colours I’d put aside when the new catalogue came out last year.
Thanks for taking a look.
I held a workshop in January at my Aunt’s house – thanks Bev! – and thought I would show you the photo of one of the cards we made.
This was one of the cards I made for my Aunt for having the workshop at her house.

On Saturday I had my “day of play” by heading off to my Aunt’s house in Torquay for a workshop. We had a great day of making cards and this was one of the cards we made. I know, I’ve used Sense of Time again, but it’s what I’m loving at the moment.
The colours I’ve used again are basic black, concord crush and whisper white. My upline, Pam, recently made a bookmark using Sense of Time, En Francais and Elements of Style. I loved this effect so I CASEd this look for my card.
I recently purchased the square scallop clear die for my big shot, so I wanted to give this a go. This is the card I came up with – hope you like it.

I’m back to give this another go. I had a River Rock Day a couple of weekends ago. It was one of those days when I decide on a colour, I run with that colour for the whole day. My sister in law, Julieanne – her new blog can be found by clicking here – recently told me she’d been using her circle scissor plus. I had to admit I hadn’t even used mine. My mission for the day was to master it. In the end I can report that I am getting pretty good at making circles without messing them up!
I was pretty happy with this card, even though it was a bit busier than what I usually come up with. It’s also vitagey (not sure that’s a word) which is what I can’t seem to get enough of. Along with the circle scissor plus being used for the first time, I pulled out my unopened pack of river rock. Every time I looked at the packet previously I couldn’t see how I would use it. Anyway this is what I’ve come up with.
Hope you like.
