Just Add Ink #257

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge for you at Just Add Ink.  This week is inspiration picture week and I found the following pictures that I hope will inspire you.

JAI257pic

I LOVE these colours and knew I wanted to make a vintagey tag.  I found some scrap pieces of DSP that I could use.  No matter how much DSP I try and use, my piles of it never seem to diminish.

We would love to see what you create with this challenge – head over to Just Add Ink and take a look at the inspiration from the Design Team.

Just Add Ink #256

Hey Everyone

Time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink.  This weeks sketch has been designed by Tina.

JAI256sketch

I really love Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla together but I can never photograph it really well.  I originally had some newsprint rolled roses on my card but when I tried to take a photo of it, they were kind of lost with my neutral colour scheme.I decided to take them off and substitute them with Coastal Cabana rolled roses.  I then tied in a blue butterfly to finish it off.  It was only when I started to write this post did I realise that I put my sentiment in the wrong spot – oops! Here’s my card:

The Card Concept #31

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge for you at The Card Concept.  Take a look at the yummy looking inspiration pic:

CC31pic

I haven’t used a cupcake on my card – mainly because I don’t have one that I felt worked for my shabby card.  Instead I’ve taken inspiration from the pretty pinks in the frosting and berry.

The Card Concept #28

Hey Everyone

I’m back with my second post today – this time it’s for our new challenge at The Card Concept  Here’s our inspiration pic for you this week:

CC28pic

I’ve gone with rolled roses (haven’t done these in ages) as I wanted to duplicate the roses from the picture.  I’ve also added a woodgrain panel as I love the box the roses are presented in.  I have a basket sitting on my desk that I throw bits and pieces in that I have left over from other projects. I keep them there in case I might use them, but very rarely do.  I finally used some on this card. The stamped ticket, travel post sign, lace, leaves and burlap have all been recycled.  Here’s my card:

Mojo Monday #329 & IBSIC #73

Hey Everyone

The card I’m sharing today is inspired by this gorgeous shabby creation by Julie Gearinger.  I love how Julie has used the vintage sign from Stampin’ Up!s Fan Fair DSP as the main focus on her card so when I saw that the colour challenge at Inspired by Stamping was Pink, Red & Cream – I decided to use the same piece of DSP.  I then unintentionally covered it up with my spray of flowers, but you can see the edges of it 🙂  The second challenge at Inspired by Stamping is to create a project using a tag – so I have created a tag and placed it on my card.

The layout for my card comes from this weeks Mojo Monday sketch.  This is such a versatile sketch that I’ll be using again.

Mojo329sketch

At the start of my holiday I mentioned that I had been asked to create two cards for one of my friends at work – a 30th birthday card for her sister (click here if you’d like to see it) and a 60th birthday card for her mum.  I think I might offer her this one for her mum.  Do you think this card works for a 60th birthday?

Mojo Monday #287, Stampin’ Royalty #170 & Just Add Ink #160

Hey Everyone

I had a bit of play-time today with my mum so I thought I’d enter some challenges that I combined all in the one card – Mojo Monday, Stampin’ Royalty & Just Add Ink.

Here’s the sketch for Mojo Monday:

It’s my off week for Design Team duties at Just Add Ink but I thought I would whip up a card with the inspiration picture colours and enter just for fun. Don’t you just love these earthy colours?

JAI160_InspirationPhoto

Stampin’ Royalty’s challenge this week is to create a project using Ribbon & Pearls.  This was easy for me as I tend to add them to all my cards!

Here’s what I came up with:

Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #241

Hey Everyone

What I love about challenges is that I get to try layouts and colours combinations that I wouldn’t normally try. This sketch from Create with Connie & Mary is a layout that I would never have come up with myself, so I probably would never’ve made this card if it wasn’t for this great sketch!

CCMC241sketch

I’ve been wanting to use this gorgeous Stampin’ Up! Eiffel Tower paper since I opened the pack.  I’ve never found the right sketch – until now…..  As you can see I’ve really let this fabulous Fan Fair DSP do all the work on my card. The sketch worked best when I flipped it on it’s side – this way you get the full effect of the Eiffel Tower.  I stamped the three images from Postage Due and punched them out with my 1 inch square punch. I then matted them with Sahara Sand cardstock punched with my Postage Stamp Punch.  The fourth square is stamped with French Foliage and then I added a single flower from Stampin’ Up!s Flower Trim with some Sahara Sand leaves.  I joined all four squares with Vintage Trinket brads and finished it off with a big Very Vanilla seam binding bow.

Seize the Birthday #1

Hey Everyone

Seize the Birthday is the new challenge in town created by my blogging friend Lesley.  She is amazing and very creative to have thought of so many different ideas for challenges.  This new challenge is a great one – week one is a sketch for a feminine card. The same sketch is used for week 2, but it will then be for a masculine card. How cool is that?

STB1sketch

My idea of “girlie” is lots of pink, so that’s what I’ve gone with for my card.  Stampin’ Up!s  Fan Fair DSP has the perfect colours for a girlie card and I’ve teamed this with my new stamp set Secret Garden (I can’t believe my Stampin’ Up! pre-order finally arrived! I think I’m the last SU demonstrator in Melbourne to receive theirs!).  Oh I love new products, especially a leaf stamp that has it’s own die – I’m in heaven. You’ll probably get sick of me using these….

Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #40

Hey Everyone

I’m back to share a card that I made for the inspiration challenge over at Inspired by Stamping.  Here’s their inspiration pic:

IBSIC40pic

This colour combination is a new one for me so it took me a while to create this card.  And I only just managed to squeeze in blue and that was for the sentiment.  I broke open a packet of Mellow Moss cardstock for my card that I found pushed to the back of the drawer. As I don’t have light purple seam binding I dyed some Very Vanilla seam binding (and my fingers!) with some Pale Plum ink. The sentiment is stamped in Brocade Blue as I think it was the closet blue I had to the challenge colour.  As I mentioned in my previous post, I’m trying to use Postage Due as it has been severely neglected.  I’ve used it in the background behind my flowers (just in case you can’t see it in the photo).

Here’s my card:

Stampin’ Royalty #157

Hey Everyone

The Design Team over at Stampin’ Royalty have given us a great colour challenge this week:

SR157pic

Straight away these colours sang “vintage” to me. My mum and I love tags, but I’ve only just recently made my first one. Postage Due was one of the first stamp sets I wanted when our catalogue came out last year.  Since I got it, it’s been one of my least used stamp sets – I’m aiming to rectify that.

This one’s for you mum – here’s what I came up with:

SR157

Thanks for stopping by.

Products Used:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Night of Navy
Ink: Soft Suede
Stamp Sets: Postage Due, Take a Ticket Wheel
Other Products: Very Vanilla Seam Binding, Hemp Twine (retired), Ticket Duo Punch, Circle Punches, Little Leave Die, Postage Stamp Punch, Pennant Die, Spritzer Tool

Cheers
