Artisan Design Team – Ornate Garden Blog Hop 2

Hey Everyone

Welcome to my blog!  The Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team have are hopping again with projects created with the Ornate Garden Suite.  This suite has been available to demonstrators to buy for a couple of weeks now.  But as of 1st April, 2020, customers can now order this suite or any of the products separately!  This suite is an early release from the upcoming 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue – so make sure you take advantage of getting your hands on these goodies before the cattle comes out!

This is our second hop creating projects using the gorgeous products from this suite.  The cards I made for the previous hop can be seen by clicking here.

My previous projects featured the amazing floral image from Ornate Garden Stamp Set and Ornate Border Dies.  This time I wanted to change things up and feature the Ornate Layers Dies with the Ornate Garden Stamp Set.

The products in this suite really are versatile. The samples I’ve created show how you can keep a card quite simple by letting the image be the main focal point and how you can a create a layered and more detailed card by adding diecuts to the image.

The first card I created has a strip of the pretty gold embossed Mint Macaron DSP, from the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper, along one side.  I kept the card pretty clean as I wanted the detailed image from the Ornate Garden Stamp Set do all the work.  The flowery image has a variety of blooms and leaves.  I added colour to the flowers with a combination of Purple Posy, Highland Heather and Smoky Slate Blends. The leaves have been coloured with my Mint Macaron and Smoky Slate Blends.  I tend to use my Smoky Slate Blends to add shadows and definition to creases of the images, but this time I also coloured the smallest flowers with them.

The sentiment I added to my card is from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set.  I used the smaller sentiment as I didn’t want to cover up too much of the image. I spent way too long colouring to hide my work!  I added a diecut from the Ornate Layers Dies in Whisper White Cardstock under the image.  This diecut has been cut in half with just the edges peaking out from under the cluster of flowers.  I added some Gilded Gems, three as always, to add some bling to my card.

The second card I created is layered and features die cuts from the Ornate Layers Dies as well as some of the pretty DSP I added to my first card. I like to create cards in ranges and keep them consistent.

I took some Purple Posy Cardstock and diecut the first layer.  The die I used gives the cardstock a really pretty frame around the edge. I added another diecut cut with Whisper White Cardstock and layered it under the image.  The image has again been coloured with a combination of Blends.  The sentiment I added to my card is simple and one that I could give to so many people in my life at the moment.  Because of the many details on this card, I only added one Gilded Gem.

I hope you like the cards I’ve created using the products from the Ornate Garden Suite.  Don’t forget this is a special early release suite from the upcoming catalogue. It feels a bit spesh to be able to get a sneak peak of a catalogue item this early!

Artisan Design Team – Ornate Garden Blog Hop

Hey Everyone

I’m so excited to be sharing this post with you.  The Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team have had the pleasure of getting to play with the Ornate Garden Suite.  The Ornate Garden Suite is an early release from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. Demonstrators are able to get their hands on these gorgeous products from the 3rd March as part of the preorder.

As you can imagine, as soon as I saw this suite had flowers, I couldn’t wait for my order to arrive.  Any level of crafter can make these samples. The beginner crafter will be able to practice their colouring with blends and the avid crafter will enjoy the layering and adding many of the pretties available in this suite.

The pretty designer series paper I’ve added to both of my cards is from the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Initially I thought that these papers were Calypso Coral in colour, but no, I was wrong – it’s Terracotta Tile.

My first card has been created with the single daisy image from the Ornate Style Stamp Set as well as from the main flower image.  My daisies have been stamped with Black Memento Ink and coloured with my Daffodil Delight Blends.  I also took my dark Smoky Slate Blend and added definition to the centre of the daisies.  I purposely left the centre of them uncoloured to give them a more realistic look – kind of like the sun is reflecting on them.

I took one of the edgelit dies from the Ornate Border Dies and created a border using Whisper White Cardstock.  I then added a strip of ribbon from the Ornate Garden Ribbon.  There are two ribbons in this ribbon pack – Old Olive and Terracotta Tile.  The sentiment I’ve added to my card is from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set.  To finish off this card, I added a Gilded Gems Embellishment.

For my second card, I coloured the main image with a combination of blends – Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral.  The leaves have been given a quick colour with Mint Macaron and Smoky Slate Blends. I fussy cut this image as I enjoy the time spent slowly cutting around the lines.

I then took another border die from the Ornate Border Dies and layered it under the DSP.  I added Dimensionals under the DSP and raised the DSP pieces up so that the border is a feature. I added three adhesive backed Gilded Gems Embellishments to add some bling to my card. I kept the sentiment simple as I wanted to let the flowers shine.

As a demonstrator, you get early access to Ornate Garden Suite products. During preorder, products are limited to one per demonstrator for non-consumable items and two per demonstrator for consumable items.
