Freshly Made Sketches #203

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  Our sketch hostess this week is the very talented and creator of beautiful cards – Jen Mitchell.

When I first saw this sketch I knew straight away that I wanted to go with a shaker card – a shimmery shaker card. As I’m determined not to get behind with my Christmas cards, I used this weeks sketch to add to my stash.  The image I’ve used is a retired Stampin’ Up! set called Santa’s List and the baubles are from Jolly Bingo Bits (also retired).

As always our team has created wonderful inspiration for you. Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and check them out. We would love for you to join us with our challenge.

Merry Monday Challenge #71

Hey Everyone

Lesley’s sketch at Merry Monday had me stumped for a bit this week as I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with all those circles.  In the end I found it a great sketch to use up some of the scrap pieces of DSP that I’ve been hoarding.

Merry Monday Challenge #69

Hey Everyone

Lesley’s back from her July break so we’re back to sketch challenges at Merry Monday.  Here’s her fabulous sketch this week:

MMC69sketch

I’ve gone with non-traditional papers for my card today and used some papers from Stampin’ Up!s Etcetera DSP. I’ve teamed them with Midnight Muse cardstock and used retired Stampin’ Up! stamp sets called Jolly Bingo Bits and Merry and Type.

We’d love for you to join us in this weeks Christmas card challenge, so head over to Lesley’s blog and join in the Christmas card fun.

Merry Monday Challenge #43

Hey Everyone

Where has the year gone? It feels like the year rocketed by, don’t you think?  One good thing is that I’m actually organised with Christmas cards (for once!) – thanks to my weekly Merry Monday Challenge.  This is our last Merry Monday sketch for 2012, but don’t worry, we’ll be back in 2013.  Here’s Lesley’s sketch this week:

And here’s my card:

Lesley, the Merry Makers and I will be back to start a new stash of Christmas cards on the 7th January – but for now head over to Lesley’s blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team have created this week.

Merry Monday #30

Hey Everyone

Ok, so for those who are new to my blog you’ll probably notice I don’t really make a lot of punch art cards.  Generally because I’m lazy and also because crystal effects and I don’t mix! So for my last week of Guest Designing at Merry Monday (thanks heaps Lesley for having me – I’ve had a ball! Where did those 3 months go?) I decided to give punch art another go.  Here’s the sketch that Lesley has provided this week:

I made my card as a follow up to this card that I created a few weeks ago. So somewhere down the chimney Santa has 180’d to end up coming feet first – but for all we know he may’ve limbered up with a pilates class in the Christmas off-season! 🙂  I made my tinsel by cutting a piece of cardstock into the shape and added heaps of crystal effects and some retired chunky glitter.  I think the crystal effects ended up more on my hands than on the cardstock.

As I’m writing this and taking another look at my card – I realised I may’ve gone back in time with this 70’s looking fireplace and mission brown wallpaper.  It probably isn’t the most modern of fireplaces these days, oh well – a bit of render will fix anything lol.

Anyway I had fun making this card and even more fun playing along each week with Lesley’s challenges.  I hope you can join us at Merry Monday – click here to take you to the challenge blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team have created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #46

Hey Again Everyone

I’ve had a busy day creating in my craft cave this morning and this evening and loved every minute of it! In the afternoon we went off to the football to watch my son’s friends play in the finals and froze our toes off.  It was belting down rain and all I could think of was getting back to my warm room and which card I would make next!

My last card tonight is for Lesley’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches – here’s this weeks sketch:

And here’s my card:

Why is it that when you upload your photo you realise only then that one of your tiles is a bit crooked?  It looked fine when I took the photo and now looking at it, one’s slightly off.  Does that happen to anyone else? I’ve just fixed it up but I ran out of time to take the photo again!

Thanks for stopping by!

Merry Monday Challenge #26

Hey Everyone

I didn’t get much of a chance to craft last week so I tried to make up for it over the weekend.  I was surprised to see my last post was exactly a week ago for Lesley’s Merry Monday Challenge.  Here’s Lesley great sketch this week – so many possibilities with this one:

I had Sahara Sand cardstock out on my desk for a workshop that I had on the weekend, so this is the colour I’ve gone with for my Christmas card.   Here’s my card:

I hope you have time to pop over the Lesley’s blog and check out what the Merry Makers have created this week.

Thanks for stopping by.

Merry Monday Challenge #17

Hey Everyone

I’m late posting tonight as I’ve had a busy weekend.  This card I’ve made is for Lesley’s Merry Monday Challenge – the idea behind this challenge is to create a card a week so by Christmas time I’ll have a big stash.  So far I’m 17 out of 17 – patting myself on the back right now for keeping up!

Here’s my card:

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #86

Good evening again everyone

My next card is for the sketch challenge at Just Add Ink.  You may wonder why I’ve gone with Basic Black, Very Vanilla & Cherry Cobbler for Christmas? – it’s because this card didn’t start out as being Christmasy.  I changed it up three times before I went with my new Jolly Bingo Bits stamp set.  The jury’s still out for me on this one as it’s not my usual style – apart from the bow :).  Anyway thanks for taking a look.

Products Used:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler
Ink: Black Stazon, Cherry Cobbler
Stamp Sets: Jolly Bingo Bits, Baroque Motifs, Christmas Greeting
Other Products: Basic Black Satin Ribbon, Crystal Effects, Circle Punches, Corner Punch

See ya

Narelle
