Just Add Ink #362

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge at Just Add Ink for you:

When I saw these colours, I wasn’t sure what kind of card I was going to make.  In the end I decided to keep a lot of white space and use the colours for my flowers and leaves.  I was really pleased how the card came together by keeping it simple.

I’ve used my favourite flowers from Penned & Painted on my card – so sad it’s retired (sniff).  I love them stamped in Peekaboo Peach and paired with Bermuda Bay leaves.  The centre of flower is coloured in black but I didn’t love that look so I added some white dots with my white gel pen.  I really like this effect and I think it makes the centre of the flowers pop.  To add Pool Party to my card, I stamped the leaves from Jar of Love directly to my card base.  I also used a strip of Pool Party cardstock and Pool Party Bakers Twine.  The sentiment I’ve used is from Blooms and Wishes.  The little sequin is actually Bermuda Bay but for some reason it’s photographed black….

Here’s my card:

Happy Birthday Gorgeous Card

Hey Everyone

I have a new flower stamps to play with!!! Thank you Stampin’ Up!

I initially purchased Happy Birthday Gorgeous from the Stampin’ Up! pre-order JUST for these flowers……I don’t think I even looked at the sentiments that come in the set when I ordered it.  I was thrilled when I looked past the flowers and found all the sentiments that come with it.  It’s a great set with tons of great stamps.

My background watercolour skills are still needing work so I’ve used the watercolour smooshing technique to add a little interest behind my flowers.  I must say – I totally love the effect this technique gives my card. The colours I used for my smooshing were Berry Burst and Powder Pink – two of the new InColours from the 2017-2018 Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalogue.  The flowers were stamped with Berry Burst and Sweet Sugarplum.  The leaves are from Jar of Love.  I stamped these in Old Olive and spent the next 20 minutes fussy cutting them.

Here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #275

Hey Everyone

It’s that time again where it’s my turn to design the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  As always, I feel the pressure when it’s my turn to come up with a card.

So my idea for this card started off with Blushing Bride and hearts, but this is how it ended up…..not pink and no hearts. The Stampin’ Up! stamp set I’ve used is Jar of Love and I’ve used a sentiment with Greetings Thinlits.

Freshly Made Sketches #255

Hey Everyone

Goodness, 255 is a lot of sketches! I remember when Lesley started Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.  I played along with the very first sketch.  I looked back at my card and I totally wished I hadn’t – it sucked! Think I’ve improved along the way – well I hope I have 😉

Our resident Stampin’ Up! Artisan Designer, Amy O’Neill, is our sketch hostess this week.  She is such a talented card maker and an awesome sketch designer. Take a look at her sketch:

As I’m on holidays, my husband organised for my mum to come for a sleep over.  She loves Stampin’ Up! as much as I do and as I don’t have Jar of Love yet, she let me have a play with hers.  I’ve now ordered it as I love it so much. Here’s my card:
