CAS(E) this Sketch #245

Hey Everyone

Look at me making another card and posting it during the week!  I am surprising myself like you wouldn’t believe!

The card I made today is a quick and easy CAS card for this weeks sketch challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch. Their sketch is super cool and as soon as I saw it, I thought “man card”.

The Stampin’ Up! set I’ve used is called High Tide.   The lighthouse is stamped in a combination of Bermuda Bay and Pool Party Inks.  The sun is stamped with So Saffron and the birds are stamped with Basic Black Archival Ink.  The water is stamped with Pool Party Ink.

The sentiment is one I haven’t used a lot as I sometimes find that I can’t fit it on my card.  This sentiment worked perfectly on this card as it didn’t cover up too much of my images.  As you will see I usually let my images be the focal point on my cards, rather than sentiments.  I then added some retired Soft Suede (I think it’s Soft Suede…..) Bakers Twine and stapled it to my card for a nautical kind of effect.

Here’s the card I created:

Just Add Ink #382

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink!  This week is a colour challenge.  Have a look a the fabulous colour combo we have for you:

Now you’d probably think I’d go with a flowery card for this colour combo, but I decided to change it up and use these colours for a man card.  It’s been a while since I’ve made a masculine card so I thought I’d challenge myself with these colours.

The Stampin’ Up! stamp set I’ve used on my card is called High Tide.  My lighthouse is stamped with Fresh Fig and Smoky Slate.  The strip of DSP I’ve used is from Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper.  I also added a strip of Basic Black cardstock, well because I really love to layer.  No sequins on a man card unfortunately, so I added some Black Bakers Twine to finish it off.

The design team at Just Add Ink have created gorgeous cards with these colours.  I love how different we have all used them.  Head over to the challenge and take a look.

Thanks for stopping by.

TGIFC #103 Sketch Challenge

Hey Everyone

I had trouble getting motivated cleaning up my craft room on Sunday as we had a break in early on Sunday morning.  Who breaks into a garage at 9am on Easter Sunday?  Apparently criminals in my area…..  Because I was so sidetracked and couldn’t concentrate on my tidying my craft room, I decided to whip up a quick card for the challenge at TGIF Challenge.  And I do mean quick……it took no time at all!

High Tide is fast becoming my favourite man card go-to stamp set.  The colours I have used on my card are Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Soft Sky.  The sentiment I have used is from Four You (I know, I use it all the time – but it’s the perfect size and I love the font!).  A bit of Linen Thread and a couple of Candy Dots and my card was done.

Here’s what I created:

Freshly Made Sketches #283

Hey Everyone

Two posts in one night! I’m on a roll!

This card is for the new sketch that the wonderfully talented Jen Brum has designed for us at Freshly Made Sketches.

Time for a man card.  I am loving Stampin’ Up!s High Tide and thought it worked really well with Jen’s sketch – it must’ve been the wavy line that had me thinking this.  The designer series paper I’ve used is from Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper. Here’s the card I created:

The design team have created amazing cards with Jen’s sketch. So head over to Freshly Made Sketches and take a look.  While you’re there, we would love it if you could link up a card!

Just Add Ink #350

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge at Just Add Ink for you.  This week is a sketch challenge that has been designed by Chantell.

The beachy background on my card was inspired by this gorgeous card created by the fabulously talented Michelle Zindorf.  I’m not much of a sponger (not a fan of the inky mess I make on my fingers), but I decided to give a scenic background a go.  I thought it worked well with the sketch.  I had the lighthouse from Stampin’ Up!s High Tide already stamped sitting on my desk, so my card came together quite quickly.

Here’s my card:

January means new product time at Stampin’ Up!.  I’ve used a new-to-me stamp from the up-coming Occasions Catalogue set, that I know is going to be a favourite of mine, for masculine cards.  The set is called High Tide.
