Just Add Ink #548

Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge over at Just Add Ink to play along with. This week is a sketch week. Take a look at the cool sketch we have for you:

The Geared Up Garage Stamp Set is retiring soon and I was reminded I needed to stock up on masculine cards. The vintage car image was stamped in Black Memento Ink and watercoloured with light shading of Mossy Meadow Ink. I’ve adhered a piece of Basic Black Cardstock to a Crumb Cake Cardstock card base. I then stamped a piece of Whisper White Cardstock with the grungy stamp in Crumb Cake Ink.

Once the layered were stuck down, I added a strip of Mossy Meadow Cardstock, Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim, a Whisper White Cardstock circle and a die cut piece from the Garage Gear Dies. Once this piece was cut out, I took a Journalling Pen and drew a line around the edge of the cardstock. The sentiment, also from the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set, finished off the card.

As always, the team have created wonderful cards that will no doubt inspire you. Head over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #442

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  Our sketch designer this week is the talented Jacquie Southas.

The Geared Up Garage Stamp Set was my set of choice for this fab sketch. You can sort of see the sketch in my layers…. The vintage car image was stamped in Black Memento Ink and coloured with my Night of Navy and Seaside Spray Blends.  I’ve then cut a combination of cog dies from the Garage Gears Dies and added them to my card. The sentiment, also from the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set, was trimmed and layered over some Braided Linen Trim. The three little dots I’ve adhered to my card are pieces left over from the centre of the die cuts – I kind of think they look like enamel dots.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created wonderful cards using this sketch. Head over to the challenge and see what they’ve made – you’re going to love their projects.

Thanks for stopping by.

Stampin’ Up! Artisan Team – Classic Garage Suite Blog Hop

Hey Everyone

The 2019 Stampin’ Up! Artisan Team are back with a hop featuring projects made with the Classic Garage Suite.

We all have need for masculine cards at some stage throughout the year – whether it be for a birthday or for Father’s Day.  I’ve created cards for both occasions, but you can easily change out the sentiments as needed and swap the occasion.

I used to struggle with masculine cards, so to overcome my fear of them, I keep a mostly white card base so that I don’t overcrowd them with too many layers. You probably all know by now that I love my layers, but sometimes they just don’t work for man cards.

I decided to start off with a Father’s Day card.  I love the shape of this sentiment and love the fact that there’s a matching die for it! This sentiment was the starting point for my card.

On the card base I randomly stamped the three nuts as a background stamp in Smoky Slate Ink.   I then added two strips of DSP from Classic Garage 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and a strip of Basic Black Cardstock.  To add some colour I took some Crushed Curry Cardstock and cut out the car badge with a thinlit from the Garage Gears Thinlits Dies.  I also looped some Black/Silver 1/4″ Striped Metallic Ribbon and placed it to the side of the sentiment.  It still felt a little bare, so I cut some cogs in Basic Black Cardstock with various sized cogs from Garage Gears Thinlits Dies.

For my second card, I took the oil stain like background stamp and stamped it on card base with Smoky Slate Ink.  I then took some DSP from Classic Garage 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and the large cog die and ran it through the Bigshot.  I placed a strip of Crushed Curry DSP and a strip of Basic Black Cardstock across my card and then added a circle.  On the circle I placed my lightly coloured vintage card, from Geared Up Garage, and added the sentiment.  I was determined to add one of these cool Classic Garage Metal Elements on one of my projects.  This card will be the one I give to my husband for his birthday.  We have two vintage cars, so I know he will LOVE this card.

The Artisans have created amazing projects using this suite.  Make sure you visit the teams blogs and see what they’ve created.  The next talented cardmaker on the hop is my friend is Rochelle Blok.  You will absolutely love what she has to show you.
