Do you want to make easy cards with loads of details? Try using Stampin’ Up!s Shimmer Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper. It might be one of the things you overlooked when you first opened your Annual Catalogue. I know I did, as I generally start searching for all the new floral stamp sets to add to my growing collection of flowery sets.
I was thrilled when I saw how many panels and leaves you can cut out from this specialty paper. I’ve chosen this full card panel for my card today. I daubed some Pineapple Punch on my card base and attached the patterned laser-cut paper over the top of my daubing. This allows the Pineapple Punch Ink to peek through the cut outs.
I cut a circle of Vellum Cardstock and adhered my flowers and leaves – both of these are from the Floral Essence Stamp Set. The flowers have been stamped with Mango Melody Ink with one of them stamped off on to scratch paper to create a duller shade of Mango Melody. The centre of the flowers have been stamped with Pineapple Punch Ink and the leaves are stamped with Call Me Clover Ink. The leaves are punched out with my Leaf Punch.
The sentiment I’ve used is from the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set. I wanted a sentiment that I could cut out and layer over the flowers. This one worked perfectly for the look I was going for.

Perennial Essence Suite was one of the first suites I had on my wish list as soon as I saw the Stampin’ Up! 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue. I adore flowers and even more, I adore flowers and leaves that I can colour. Floral Essence Stamp Set not only has an amazing flower and leaves I can colour, it also has solid flower images for the times when I want a mix of both – as I’ve done with this card today.
The large flower has been watercoloured with Calypso Coral Ink and then I took my Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Marker to add some definition to the crease lines. The smaller flowers are stamped with Calypso Coral Ink and the centre is stamped with Memento Black Ink.
The leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz Ink and cut with the matching Leaf Punch. The sentiment I’ve used fit my 2″ Circle Punch perfectly. This sentiment has a mix of fonts that I found really pretty – it’s also from the Floral Essence Stamp Set.
I added a strip of Calypso Coral Cardstock across my card and then added some of this gorgeous Petal Pink 5/8″ Organdy Striped Ribbon – this ribbon is so soft and pretty I couldn’t resist heaps of it by bunching it across my card.
The designer series paper I’ve used in the background as my card base has a soft woodgrain pattern. The DSP is from Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper.
