Freshly Made Sketches #84

Hey Everyone

Another Wednesday is here so that means a new sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week Linda Saurez is our hostess. Here’s her great sketch that at the start had me thinking…

FMS84sketch

In my effort to try and mix up my cards so that I’m not always creating feminine florally ones, I decided to make a baby card.  I felt that Linda’s sketch was the perfect choice for to create one. The designer series paper I’ve used is a from a retired Stampin’ Up! pack called Nursery Nest.  The card base is Elegant Eggplant and I’ve teamed this with a bit of colouring with Pear Pizzazz ink on the babies toys.  The stamp sets I’ve used are retired Stampin’ Up! ones called Favourite Teddy,  Best Yet and A New Little Someone.

We’d love for you to join us this week at Freshly Made Sketches, so head over to the challenge and link up a card.  While you’re there, check out the gorgeous inspiration from the Design Team.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #136

Hey Everyone

At Just Add Ink this week Delys has given us the challenge of:

Just Add….. Children/Kids Cards

I don’t have a lot of these type of cards in my stash, especially girl cards, so I’d thought I’d make one for a niece’s birthday coming up soon.  I’m going to be organised for once!

I really do need to look at my stamp sets for girls as I’ve yet again resorted to using a retired stamp set called Favourite Teddy. My card design was inspired by an old Deconstructed Sketch Challenge.

We’d love to see you play along with us this week – click here to take you to the challenge and check out the gorgeous cards the girls have created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

Mojo Monday #254 & Create with Connie & Mary #214

Hey Everyone

Hope everyone’s had a wonderful weekend??? – I can’t believe it’s over already and I’m back at work tomorrow.

My card tonight is for two challenges – Mojo Monday and Create with Connie & Mary.

This is the sketch from Mojo Monday that I used to create my card:

And here’s the colour palette from Create with Connie & Mary:

It was a good thing I got a few pre-order items from the upcoming catalogue during the week- I was able to use the correct colours for this challenge.  One of the DSP packs I opened was Be of Good Cheer which happened to have the Gumball Green spotted paper in it and the Midnight Muse DSP was from Comfort Cafe DSP that I opened yesterday. I’m not generally a “blue” person, but I think that Comfort Cafe will be my new favourite! I’ve gone with two retired Stampin’ Up! sets for this child’s card.  The teddy is from a baby set called Bundle of Joy and the presents my teddy’s holding and the sentiment are from Favourite Teddy.

Thanks for stopping by.

Dynamic Duos #9

Hey Everyone

My card tonight is my second entry into this weeks Dynamic Duos challenge and it’s my second baby card for this challenge – unusual for me to make one baby card, let alone two!  One of my friends at work is having her first baby so I was asked to make a card for her last day on Thursday. I was more than happy to make a card for Erin and her husband as she’s the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet.

In case you were wondering about the size of this one, it’s a big one – we have a lot of staff in our Emergency Department so I needed a big card to get everyone’s congratulatory (is that a word?) comments on there.  Just need to find an envelope to fit it in now……..

Thanks for taking a look.

Dynamic Duos #6 & Deconstructed Sketch #55

I’m also entering my card into this weeks fabulous Deconstructed Sketch challenge. I’ve changed the shape a little from the sketch and gone with a square card because I could fit my teddy better – hope that’s ok?

Here’s my card:

Create with Connie & Mary #197 & Freshly Made Sketches #30

Hey Everyone

I’m back after a two week holiday from a little fishing town called Eden which is on the South Coast of New South Wales.  Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter – we had a wonderful holiday and probably ate to much chocolate! I managed to squeeze in two crates of my Stampin’ Up! supplies so I could craft on my hols. There was only so much I could take away with me and guaranteed I had all the wrong colours when it came to the challenges I entered over the last couple of weeks, so I practically walked into my craft room yesterday and kissed my desk! I was desperately in need of all my matching cardstock, ink, ribbons and stamp sets.

The card I made yesterday (but only had a chance to photograph today) is for two challenges – Create with Connie & Mary and Freshly Made Sketches.

I’ve gone with something other than a feminine card (shocking, I know) but I wanted to add a kids card to my collection. Here’s my card:

Thanks for taking a look.

Friday Mashup #42 & The Sweet Stop Sketches #142

Hey Everyone

The challenge at The Friday Mashup this week is to:

  • Make a project using “Paper Piercing”.
  • Or Make a project using the colors “Blushing Bride, Riding Hood Red & Early Espresso”.
  • Or “Mash it Up” and create a project with the “Colour Combo & Paper Piercing”.

I’ve combined this challenge with the sketch challenge at The Sweet Stop this week.  They’ve also given us extra challenge of creating a Valentine’s Day Card with a twist – use a non-traditional Valentine’s Day stamp.  I’ve whipped out my Favourite Teddy stamp set again as I don’t use it often enough. I inked up the balloons from Up, Up & Away and “tied” them to the teddy cart.  In the Favourite Teddy stamp set there’s an envelope with a heart that I inked up with Riding Hood Red with my blender pen – this seemed perfect for a Valentine’s Day card.

Here’s my card:

Thanks for stopping by.

I was made a Mashup Glamette this week at The Friday Mashup with this card.

See ya

CASE Study Challenge #72

Hey Everyone

Here’s my 3rd and final post for today.  My card tonight is for the challenge at CASE Study Challenges – click here to take you to their blog and check out the creativity going on there.  I pulled out an old favourite tonight – Favourite Teddy.  When I first heard about Stampin’ Up! I was shown this set and I HAD to have it.   It was retired by this time, so my SIL Jules found it on ebay in America for me. I can’t quite remember how much I paid for it, but it didn’t matter and I think I paid as much for postage as I did for the stamp set!

CASE Study Challenges muse this month is Jen Rzasa and this is her card that we used for inspiration:

Here’s my take on her card:
