Merry Monday Challenge #61

Hey Everyone

Lesley’s sketch at Merry Monday tested me this week – I guess that’s why they call them challenges!

MMC60

I think this may’ve been the first time I’ve used Stampin’ Up!s Medallion stamp.   It’s probably retired but I don’t even know (shocking of me not to know this, but I left my catalogue in the car and it’s too cold to go and get it!). I’ve used Silver embossing powder for the Medallion image as well as the baubles and to finish it off, I tied a bow with some Basic Black Taffeta ribbon.

Merry Monday Challenge #50

Hey Everyone

It’s time for another Merry Monday Challenge!  This weeks theme is Elegance.  Lesley’s challenge for us is to create an Elegant Christmas card.

MMC50pic

When I tried to think of what’s elegant, I automatically thought of Black and White – I figure you can’t go wrong with these classy colours. I heat embossed the Christmas bauble and my sentiment with Silver embossing powder to add that little bit of extra elegance. To finish off the card I added a large pearl and a big Satin bow.

Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #148 – Just Add….Christmas

Hey Everyone

Our last Just Add Ink Challenge for 2012 has arrived.  This week our theme is to:

Just Add…….Christmas

I’ve gone with a neutral vintagey Christmas card.   The designer series paper that I’ve used is a retired Stampin’ Up! pack called Brocade Background. I really love the pattern on this Christmas bauble and thought it really looks similar to the print on the designer series paper.

We’re taking a little break for Christmas but don’t worry, we’ll be back on 16th January for a whole new year of challenges. We’d love to see what you create for our Christmas themed challenge – head over to the challenge and check out the fabulous Christmas projects the Design Team have created.

Merry Monday Challenge #37

Hey Everyone

It’s Monday, so that means there’s a new sketch for Lesley’s Merry Monday Challenge!  With only a few weeks left until Christmas this is a great opportunity to get your Christmas cards underway.

Here’s Lesley’s fabulous sketch this week:

I wanted a two-tone bauble but couldn’t find my Always Artichoke marker. So I stamped the image in Always Artichoke Ink and then used my blender pen to wipe away the colour from the centre of the bauble.  I then coloured the centre with my River Rocker marker.  I may not’ve completely wiped away all of the Always Artichoke so the remaining colour has mixed with the River Rock and left a marbling sort of effect.  I kind of liked it, so I kept it and used it on my card.  Here’s what I came up with:

We have two new Merry Makers joining the team this week – Susan Joyce and Allisa Chilton.  I’m a big fan of theirs and am thrilled that I will be designing alongside them.  Head over to the challenge and check out the gorgeous cards the Merry Makers have created this week.

Thanks for stopping by.

Merry Monday Challenge #32

Hey Everyone

It’s Monday so that means it’s time for Merry Monday again.  Here’s Lesley’s sketch this week:

Can you believe it? – I’ve gone with more punch art.  I’m not sure what’s come over me, but I’m on a roll with punch art on my Christmas cards. This time I’ve gone with a pine cone.  I saw a pine cone card on Pinterest and loved the idea.  I’ve used my build a blossom punch and curled each of the cones with my bone folder to make them more 3D. I then used my dauber to ink Early Espresso around each cone to give them more definition.  And finally I cut some Always Artichoke cardstock thinly to make my pine cone needles.

Merry Monday Challenge #31

Hey Everyone

So last week I said my thank you’s and goodbye’s for my design team gig at Merry Monday.  I have something to tell you – I jumped the gun on my exit from the design team.  I’m staying on until the end of October!!! Thanks for keeping me Lesley!

So here’s the sketch for our challenge this week:

For my card, I’ve teamed some of my new DSP – Be of Good Cheer – with Basic Grey and Very Vanilla.  I’ve lightly daubed around each of the pieces of cardstock to soften the edges.   To finish off the card I tied a double bow with this gorgeous (but sadly) retired Basic Grey satin ribbon.  Here’s my card:

I hope you can join us this week at Merry Monday – click here to take you to the challenge and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team have created.
