Freshly Made Sketches #433

Hey Everyone

We have a new sketch challenge for you to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch has been designed by the super talented Lee Ann Barrett.

I knew I wanted to use the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set for this sketch. Had my colours worked out and even had the sketch in front of me the whole time, but somehow I ended up with this card….. Totally loved it and got to the point of uploading it on our page when I realised I’d completely go the sketch wrong! I’m blaming covid – or maybe it’s just age. So at the last minute I had to pull it apart and correct the my error.

And now I have the layers the right way around…… Here’s a tip for you – check and then re-check your sketch before you stick every down čÖé

The team is sure to have made their cards with the panels going in the right direction from the get-go…..Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see the gorgeous creations they’ve made.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

A Beautiful Friendship Card

Hey Everyone

It’s been a long weekend here in Melbourne this weekend and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it! After spending the last two weekends away, it was good to stay home and clean, cook and best of all – craft!

The Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set was inked up today for my card. ┬áThe flowers from this stamp set have been stamped in Highland Heather Ink. ┬áI fussy cut the flowers out and then took my Journaling Pen and added some dots to the centre of the flowers. ┬áThe flower stem images have been stamped in Gorgeous Grape Ink and also fussy cut out. ┬áThe leaves are from the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set – these have been stamped in Mint Macaron Ink.

I wanted to add some interest to the background so I took some Whisper White Cardstock and the Brick and Mortar 3D Embossing Folder to add a strip of texture. I added a piece of torn Mint Macaron Cardstock under the sentiment to tie everything together. ┬áThe three rhinestones that I’ve stuck to my card are from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels pack.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #394

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday! That’s means we have a new sketch for you to try at Freshly Made Sketches. ┬áThe fabulously talented designer of this weeks sketch is Jennifer Timko! ┬áTake a look at her wonderful sketch:

I couldn’t resist using my Mosaic 3D Embossing Folder again. ┬áThe texture it creates is sooooooo very effective and I find I don’t need to add a whole heap to my card to take it to a level of “fullness” that I like.

The flowers I’ve used on my card are from the Beautiful Friendship Photopolymer Stamp Set. ┬áI’ve stamped these flowers in two colours – So Saffron and Crushed Curry Inks. ┬áThe leaves are also from this stamp set. ┬áTo tie in with the colour scheme I was going for, I stamped them in Smoky Slate Ink. The centre of the flowers have been stamped in Black Memento Ink.

I was determined to use this sentiment (also from Beautiful Friendship) on my card, so to make it work best, I stamped it on a strip of Whisper White Cardstock and placed it across my card. ┬áThe strip of DSP I’ve used is from Woven Threads Designer Series Paper. ┬áThe DSP has been matted with Crushed Curry Cardstock. Under the sentiment I added a piece of Sahara Sand Woven Threads Trim.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created amazing cards with this weeks sketch. Head over to the challenge and see for yourself.

Thanks for stopping by.
