Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #23 & Stamping 411 #270

Hey Everyone

When I saw this weeks challenge at Inspired by Stamping I remembered a DSP that looked similar to the pattern on the tub in the inspiration picture.  I can’t remember what it was called (possibly Bella Rose?) but I got it when I joined Stampin’ Up! over 3 years ago and haven’t used it until now.  See Christine, hoarding is a good thing – if I didn’t hoard I wouldn’t have this DSP for this challenge! Here’s the inspiration pic from Inspired by Stamping – can you see the similarity between the tub and my DSP?

And I’ve also combined this with the sketch challenge at Stamping 411.  Don’t you love a sketch challenge? – most of the work is already done for me!

Just Add Ink #132

Hey Everyone

Mae has provided us with this great sketch for our challenge at Just Add Ink this week.  I had so many ideas running through my head when I saw this one – I was going with a man card, then a boy card and ended up with a kind of shabby chic feminine card. This sketch is so versatile that it could be used for any card type really.

Here’s Mae’s sketch:

Here’s my card:

I’ve gone with Basic Gray, Very Vanilla and Beau Chateau DSP for my card.  Instead of daubing with Crumb Cake as I normally do, I lightly daubed with Basic Gray.  I had the bow already tied in my ribbon off-cuts box so I gave it a bit of a squish in my hand to get it from the flat position and to give it some body again.  I wanted just the outline of the Apothecary Art stamp as border for my framelit so I used my marker to highlight the area I wanted stamped.

I hope you can join us at Just Add Ink this week – head over to the challenge and check out the beautiful cards the DT have created.

Thanks for stopping by.

CASE Study Challenge #86

Hey Everyone

I’ve been off work today as I caught what all my family has had throughout the school holidays.  For them it was called man-flu, but for me it’s a cold so all I’ve been able to do is sleep and laze on the couch.  I made this card on Sunday for this weeks CASE Study Challenge but haven’t had a chance to put this post on until tonight.

CASE Study’s talented muse for the month of April – Laurie Schmidlin – has created the following card.  How gorgeous is this vintagey creation?

Here’s my take on her card:
