Just Add Ink #249

Hey Everyone

We have a sketch challenge for you at Just Add Ink this week.

JAI249sketch

I had these hexy’s sitting unused on my desk from a challenge that I didn’t get around to enter and decided to put them to the good use on my card.  They’re not normally colours I would reach for but I’m trying combinations outside of my comfort zone.  I think this card would work well for either a female or a man.

The Paper Players Challenge #215

Hey Everyone

I had a day off work today so I headed out to my craft room to catch up on some design team commitments as well as make a card for this weeks sketch challenge at The Paper Players – take a look at Sandy’s fab sketch:

I felt I was overdue to make a man card and thought Sandy’s sketch worked perfectly for one.  Stampin’ Up!s Four Feathers is fast becoming one of my favourite stamp sets.  I’ve stamped the feathers in Mossy Meadow and Soft Suede.  I’ve used a retired stamp set called Off the Grid for the background and the sentiment is from a retired set called Afterthoughts.  My supply of these amazing buttons is slowly dwindling.  I was wondering if it would be rude to ask for the button back after I give the card to the recipient??? Or I might just have to give it to my husband just so I know I’ll get it back!  Here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #153

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday so that means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  Jennifer Brum has created this weeks sketch.  Love how quick this card came together with Jen’s fabulous sketch. Head over to her blog and check out her lovely creations.

I really do love a circle on my cards – you probably already know this as I tend to use them on so many of my cards.  I inked up Stampin’ Up!s Four Feathers for the first time in two colours – Basic Black and Strawberry Slush.  I then fussy cut them out and placed them on my circle.  It was then that I decided to add a banner or two because I couldn’t help myself.  I really love how the speckles in these feathers matches the flecks in this paper I’ve used from Confetti Celebration DSP.
