Sydney Onstage Live Event 2019 & My Exciting News

Hey Everyone

I’ve been spending the last few days in Sydney to attend the 2019 Stampin’ Up! Onstage Live Event with fabulous friends (and as you can see in this photo of the Opera House, about 3000 tourists…….) These events not only give me the chance to see and touch all the new products available soon in the 2020 Mini & Sale-A-Bration Catalogues, I also use this time to laugh, eat loads and maybe even have a gossip or two with my roomies.

You will probably all know that I was lucky enough to be chosen to be part of an amazing design team for this year.  I’ve been a member of the 2019 Stampin’ Up! Artisan Team creating alongside 15 other incredible crafters from around the world.  It was a dream of mine to be on the team and I’ve had THE best time!

I can now let you in on my news.  I was chosen for the 2020 Stampin’ Up Artisan Design Team! When the call came, I was almost a little teary and I can’t remember most of the conversation. This has been a sad year for me after losing my dad 5 months ago, so the call from Stampin’ Up! to let me know I was staying on the team for one more year, completely made my day.

Here’s a list of names of the talented Stampin’ Up! Artisans I will be creating with – I’m so looking forward to getting to know all of this team!

Some more good news is that I get to create alongside my Melbourne girl Rochelle Blok.  Rochelle and I have been on the current design team together and I’m super excited that we will be continuing on the team next year.  If only she learnt how to scooch for a photo ……. Massive congrats to you Rochelle!

Thanks for stopping by.

Artisan Design Team – Toile Tidings Suite

Hey Everyone

Welcome to my blog and the latest Stampin’ Up! 2019 Artisan Design Team Blog Hop.

The projects I’ve created feature cards and gift boxes using the Tidings All Around Bundle. I’ve designed matching cards and gift boxes to give to loved ones who I know will cherish them and all the details I’ve added to them.

I’ve used the pretty Real Red striped paper from Toile Tiding Designer Series Paper on this card and box.  The wreath on the card is has been cut with my All-Around Wreath Dies.  Initially I was going to go with a stamped wreath for the card, but I liked how the solid Mossy Meadow Cardstock stood out more.  I stamped the little flowers in Elegant Eggplant Ink and fussy cut them out. I then added some foliage cut with my All-Around Wreath Dies. I trimmed some Real Red 1″ Ruched Ribbon and bunched it together with Linen Thread and tied one of these cute Jingle Bells to it.

The gift box I’ve created starts with a Gold Mini Pizza Box.  After adding some Toile Tiding Designer Series Paper, I adhered my wreath from the Tidings All Around Stamp Set.  I may’ve then gone a little crazy with my ribbons….. I went for a looped double bowed Burlap Ribbon effect. Because you can’t have too much ribbon, I then added some Real Red Ruched Ribbon to the mix. If the recipient of this gift box, doesn’t intend to keep it, I think I’ll ask for the ribbon back…

Red or green for Christmas?  I can’t decide. I like both.

The next hop along the way is my friend Rochelle who has created gorgeous projects that I know will WOW you! Click here or on the badge below to take you to her blog.

Artisan Design Team – Christmastime Is Here Blog Hop

Hey Everyone

Welcome to my blog and the latest Stampin’ Up! 2019 Artisan Design Blog Hop.  The team have been busy creating more projects for you with the gorgeous products from the Christmastime Is Here Suite.

This exclusive, limited-time collection of festive, floral coordinating products has everything you need to share love, joy, and creativity this holiday season.

For out last hop I created the following projects that showcased the pretty Christmastime Is Here Specialty Designer Series Paper.  All of the roses were either fussy cut or die cut from the papers.

This time around I wanted to show you how I’ve used the rose stamp from the Christmas Rose Stamp Set.  You probably all know how much I love a flower stamp and fussy cutting…..so this stamp set is perfect for me.

I also wanted to show you the versatility of this suite, so in addition to a festive card, I created a card that can be given for any occasion.

The first card I created is a Christmas card.  I added a strip of this rich paper from Christmastime Is Here Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I then cut a Whisper White Cardstock lattice die cut under my floral image.  The flower image from the Christmas Rose Stamp Set was stamped in Black Memento Ink and coloured with the following Blends – Cherry Cobbler, Mint Macaron, Ivory and Shaded Spruce. I then used my Roses Dies to cut the image. As much as I love fussy cutting, I also love the ease of cutting this image with a die. To finish off my card, I added some Gold Glitter Enamel Dots and bunched up some Gold 1/4″ Shimmer Ribbon to place under the sentiment.

For my second card, I knew I wanted to make a card for any occasion. I embossed the splatters from Artisan Textures Stamp Set with Gold Embossing Powder for the background.  For something different, I stamped two images and fussy cut them down until I had just two roses.  I coloured them with my Cherry Cobbler Blends making sure I had a deeper colour around the petal lines to give the roses definition. The leaves for these roses have been fussy cut from one of the papers from the Christmastime Is Here Specialty DSP.  I also added a strip of DSP that was cut off at some point and was sitting on my desk.  I always keep these strips so I can use them on other projects. The small piece of Gold Foil you can see was cut with one of the label dies in the Roses Dies pack. To let you in on a secret, this is also an off-cut from another project but you can’t tell it’s not the whole label.  To make this card an any occasion card, I cut down the sentiment that I used on the festive card.

This suite has been available to demonstrators to buy for the last couple of weeks and are now available for everyone to purchase! These products are only available while stocks last, so make sure you get your order in soon so you don’t miss out on these bee-oot-iful products!

Artisan Team Blog Hop – Frosted Foliage

Hey Everyone

Welcome to my blog and the newest blog hop the Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team are sharing.  This month we are featuring projects created from the 2019 Holiday Catalogue.  The bundle I’m featuring is the Frosted Foliage Bundle.  This bundle consists of the Frosted Foliage Stamp Set and the Frosted Frames Dies.

Each of the design team have created projects using various products from the Holiday Catalogue and for a twist, we are creating projects outside of the suite colours. For this twist, I’ve used papers from the Woven Threads Designer Series Paper pack.  I also added some Pool Party Cardstock for a pop of colour behind the berry branches.

The berry branch images, from the Frosted Foliage Stamp Set, have been stamped with Black Memento Ink (my go-to ink for everything).  My Cherry Cobbler Blends gave the berries a very quick colour but the fussy cutting maybe wasn’t so quick….. The first card has a Pool Party leaf and Whisper White snowflake cut with my Frosted Frames Dies. You can never have enough bling on any project, so I added a rhinestone to each card from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones pack.

The tags I’ve created have been cut with my Frosted Frames Dies – a really quick way of creating some interesting tags that you can’t find in a shop. I added the background stamp of snowflakes in Pool Party Ink to the tags and stamped the sentiment in Black Memento Ink over the top.  For some prettiness, I added some Rococo Rose 1/2″ Scalloped Linen Ribbon tied together with 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim.  Pool Party snowflakes with Noble Peacock Rhinestones in the centre finished off the right amount of embellishments I needed for them.

The next hop along the way is my talented friend Rochelle Blok.  Click here to take you to her blog or on the button below.  You’re going to love what she’s created!

Artisan Design Team – Christmastime is Here Demo Facing Blog Hop

Hey Everyone

Welcome to my blog and a special Stampin’ Up! 2019 Artisan Blog Hop we have for you.

Christmas Is Coming Early This Year!

We hope you’re ready to make this holiday season magical, because the Christmastime Is Here Suite is, well . . . here! This exclusive, limited-time collection of festive, floral coordinating products has everything you and your customers need to share love, joy, and creativity this holiday season.

All demonstrators have exclusive, early access to pre-ordering these products from 1st October (that’s today!).  I’m thinking it’s a great time to sign up to be a demonstrator just so you can get your hands on these pretties asap!

Take a look at all the amazing products available in this suite!

I can’t even really explain to you how happy I was when I saw the products in this suite. A Christmas Rose!!! What could be better than that? The image in the Christmas Rose Stamp Set can be used for the festive season, but I can also see it used for a birthday card.  I played around with fussy cutting on the weekend and have some non-festive cards using the rose on my blog soon. LOVE me some versatile stamps!

My projects have been created by cutting the rose images from the gorgeous papers in the Christmastime Is Here Specialty Designer Series Paper pack. I’m always hesitant to cut into my designer series papers, but these papers are made for it – if I can do it, you can too.  The dies from the Roses Dies match the larger flowery image I’ve used on my card. This image from the DSP is coloured perfectly and great for your customers to show them that if they’re not fussy cutters, the die can do all the work for them.

For the background, I’ve added a piece of the gorgeous DSP and added a diecut made of Whisper White Cardstock under my image.  I layered a strip of Sahara Sand Cardstock under the sentiment to tie in a neutral colour.  Because I couldn’t resist using the ribbon, I added a loop of Gold 1/4″ Shimmer Ribbon to the side of my card.  The Gold Glitter Enamel Dots that come in this suite are right up my alley and, as always, I’ve added three of them around my card.

Gold Mini Pizza Boxes are a perfect gift to give that special someone.  For the inside I created 6 little note/gift cards as part of the gift. The top of the pizza box has been decorated with a square of DSP, a Whisper White Cardstock framelit cutout, a sentiment from Christmas Rose Stamp Set, a strip of Sahara Sand Cardstock and the gorgeous Gold 1/4″ Shimmer Ribbon.  I then fussy cut some flowers from the DSP pack and layered them under the sentiment.

The gift cards have all been decorated with the same details but a scaled down version of the box.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the projects I’ve created using this suite. Don’t forget to put in your order soon so you can be ready to churn out those Christmas projects

Preorder limits are as follows:

  • Limit one per demonstrator for non-consumable items (e.g., Christmas Rose Stamp Set, Charming Rose Bracelet, etc.).
  • Limit two per demonstrator for consumable items (e.g., Gold 1/4″ (6.4 mm) Shimmer Ribbon, Gold Glitter Enamel Dots, and Christmastime Is Here Specialty Designer Series Paper).

The next Artisan Team member on our hop is the talented, and super creative, team member Rochelle Blok.  Click here to take you her blog and to continue on the hop.

Artisan Design Team Blog Hop – Garden Lane DSP & Band Together Stamp Set

Hey Everyone

Woohoo! It’s time for another Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop. I’m always super excited the team gets to share what they’ve created.

This month I’ve created cards featuring the Band Together Bundle as well as the gorgeous Garden Lane Designer Series Paper. This is a great month to buy Designer Series Paper Packs, because if you buy three packs, you get one pack free!  This special is only available until 30th September, 2019, so you might want to think about putting in an order soon.

I like to design ranges of cards using the same products but all with a different look.

My first card has a strip of DSP from the Garden Lane Designer Series pack matted with Sahara Sand Cardstock across the centre of the card.  I tore the bottom of the Sahara Sand Cardstock for a vintage-y feel. I really, really love Stampin’ Up!s Very Vanilla 3/8″ Scalloped Lace Trim (as you can tell as I used it on all three cards!) and I think this works well with the vintage-y feel.  Because I can’t have enough details, I threw in some Linen Thread strips and tied a bow.

The pretty flowers from the Band Together Stamp Set have been stamped in Black Memento Ink and watercoloured with Elegant Eggplant Ink.  I added a heavier touch of ink with my Aqua Painter to the creases of the petals to add depth and dimension.  I then added Ivory and Daffodil Delight Blends to colour the centre of the flower. The stems were also lightly watercoloured with Mint Macaron and Old Olive Inks.

The sentiment I’ve used is also from the Band Together Stamp Set and is matted with Sahara Sand Cardstock.

For my second card, I added a rectangle of DSP and layered strips of Mossy Meadow and Sahara Sand Cardstock over the top.  And, as you can see, my favourite lace trim is there – it’s all about the details!  The flowers have been given the same treatment and the sentiment I’ve used is also from the Band Together Stamp Set.

My final card (and I think my favourite layout) has three strips of DSP, a Whisper White Cardstock circle, Mossy Meadow and Sahara Sand Cardstock strips, some Linen Thread and of course, THAT ribbon!  I chose the flower buds image from the Band Together Stamp Set for this card and added some Mossy Meadow leaves cut with my Detailed Bands Dies.

I hope you like what I’ve created!  The next creative Artisan along the way is my friend Rochelle Blok – she creates projects that I’m always in awe of. Click on her name or the button below to take you to her blog.

Artisan Team Blog Hop -Shimmer Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper

Hey Everyone

Welcome to my blog and the newest Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!

This month we are featuring projects using these amazing Shimmer Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper.  We’re pairing these detailed sheets with various stamp sets.  The stamp set I’m using is the Inspiring Iris Stamp Set.  This stamp set is soooooo very pretty and has a mix of flower single flowers and long stemmed flowers.

All  four of my cards feature backgrounds cut from the Shimmer Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper.  These squares are easy to cut out from the sheet and create a beautiful background for your cards.

For my first card I’ve stamped the single flower stamp three times and gave it them some watercolour with Highland Heather Ink.  I added more ink in the crease lines to give definition to the petals. I then added Daffodil Delight Ink to the centre of the blooms with my Daffodil Delight Blends.

The leaves I’ve used are a combination of leaves from the stamp set and also leaves that I’ve trimmed from the laser-cut sheet.  There are so many leaves that you can trim from the sheets with just a snip here and a snip there.  I gave these leaves colour with some Pear Pizzazz and  Mossy Meadow Inks.  The sentiment on this sentiment is from Beautiful Friendship. I layered the sentiment on a strip of Highland Heather Ink – a little bit off centre.

This second card was created with the long stemmed iris stamp.  I had fun colouring these flowers with Elegant Eggplant Ink and Daffodil Delight Blends for the centre.  The leaves have been lightly watercoloured with Pear Pizzazz Ink.  Again I added a strip of Highland Heather Cardstock under the sentiment.

These background laser-cut outs do all the work on my cards.  I matted this cut out with Highland Heather Cardstock so it shows through the intricate panel.  I then added flowers and leaves as created on my first card.  The sentiment is also from the Inspiring Iris Stamp Set.

For my final card, I daubed the background with Highland Heather Ink so it peaks through the cut out. I then layered the fussy cut irises as well as leaves with the sentiment from Rare Blessing Stamp Set.  Under the sentiment, I added a Whisper White Bakers Twine strip and bow.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the projects I’ve created.  The next Artisan in the hop is my amazingly talented friend, Rochelle Blok. Click on her name or the badge below to continue on the hop.  I’ve listed all the names of the team below if you get lost along the way.

Artisan Team Blog Hop – Perennial Essence Suite

Hey Everyone

The 2019 Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team are hopping again today.  We have beautiful products to show you from the Perennial Essence Suite.

Perennial Essence Stamp Set consists of gorgeous flowers and leaves.  One of the things that I love about the flowers in this stamp set is that there are flower petals that can be punched out with the matching Perennial Flower Punch, flowers with a solid image and flowers that are perfect for watercoloring.  I’ve created cards with each of the different flowers for you to see.

The first card has flowers on it that were made by stamping the image twice, giving them a light colour with Bermuda Bay Ink and then punching them out with my Perennial Flower Punch. I then adhered them together at different angles to create the flower. The centre of the flowers were given a watercolour with Crushed Curry Ink.  The larger leaves were stamped with Smoky Slate Ink and these were punched out with my Leaf Punch.  The smaller leaves were given a light watercolour with Bermuda Bay Ink.  The DSP I’ve added to the background is from Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper.  I am totally in love with the Petal Pink 5/8″ Organdy Striped Ribbon, so I made sure I added some to my card.  The sentiment I’ve used is also from this stamp set – it really makes me smile when I read this.

The next card I created has a background created with my Tin Tiled Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder. I brayered Petal Pink Ink over the folder before embossing.  The flowers I’ve used on this card are the solid image stamp.  I actually tried quite a few colours before I settled on Bermuda Bay.  I think they’re quite striking in this colour.  The centre of the flowers have been stamped in Crushed Curry.  I’ve used the same leaves and ribbon as my previous card and added some Basic Pearls.

My final card showcases the largest flower image and one that I like to watercolour.  Again I’ve used Bermuda Bay Ink and Crushed Curry Ink for the centre of the flower. For consistency to my cards, I’ve added the same leaves and the ribbon as my previous cards.  The main feature on this card is the pretty DSP in the background.  This gorgeousness comes from Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the cards I’ve shared today.  I know you’re going to love what the whole team have created.  To continue on the hop, click on the next button below to take you to my super crafty friend, Rochelle Blok’s, blog.

Artisan Design Team Blog Hop – Come Sail Away Suite

Hey Everyone

I’m always excited when it’s time for the Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop, but I’m super excited this month as we are using my favourite Suite at the moment – Come Sail Away Suite!

I’ve created two cards and a gift bag filled with Ferrero Rocher’s that I may or may not have eaten since I took this photo….

I’ve created these projects with a class or workshop in mind.  They’re very clean and simple and don’t use many products, so perfect for the stamper who’s just getting started.

For my first card, I’ve cut a circle out of my card base (I held on to the circle for my second card) and added this fabulous striped DSP from Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper under my raised card base.  I then stamped the lighthouse, compass and sentiment all from the Sailing Home Stamp Set.  I watercoloured the lighthouse and compass with Soft Suede Ink and Pear Pizzazz Inks and raised them up with Mini Dimensionals.  I then took the rope die and cut some Basic Gray and Night of Navy Cardstock edgelits.  Sail Away Trinkets are the perfect accessory to add to any project.  For this card, I added the little anchor and tied some Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine to it and adhered it all with Glue Dots.

It was only after I’d assembled my card, that I thought it looked a little bare on the top left side of the card.  Quite gingerly I stamped the trio of birds stamp and luckily I didn’t leave any Night of Navy Ink residue around them – I have a habit of not checking my stamp for excess ink and end up ruining projects….does that happen to anyone else?

For my second card, I daubed the card base with Pool Party Ink, added the circle I’d cut from my first card and a DSP circle.  To tie in with the first card, I also added Basic Gray and Night of Navy rope edgelits.  Because I like details on my cards, I added some Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine and placed it quite haphazardly across my card.  I then applied Night of Navy and Soft Suede Inks directly to my yacht stamp with my markers and stamped them on to Whisper White Cardstock.  The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy Ink and cut with a die from the Smooth Sailing Dies.

I like to create a matching gift box or bag when holding a class.  For this project, I’ve used a Gusseted Cellophane Bag and added a strip of the same DSP I’ve used on my cards.  I added a circle die and stamped the yacht and anchor and gave them a light watercolour.  I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy Ink and punched it out with my 2 1/4″ Circle Punch.  I’ve added a Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine bow to the top of my project that held everything together – until I undid the bow, of course, and ate the chocolates…..

The next hop along the way is Rochelle Blok who has created totally fabulous projects.  Make sure you check out all of the gorgeous creations the team have designed – I’m in love with the all!

Stampin’ Up! Artisan Blog Hop – Carry Over Event

Hey Everyone

Welcome to another Artisan Design Team Blog Hop and our May Carry Over Event. This month our team are creating projects to demonstrate at a class or workshop featuring products that have carried over to the Stampin’ Up! 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue.

I think it took me all of three minutes to choose my preferred stamp set for this blog hop.  First Frost Stamp Set is such a beautiful set and so very versatile with assorted sentiments.   Stamp sets with sentiments that cover more than one occasion is great, but when there’s three sentiments – I’m all in and that stamp set needs to be in my next order.

First Frost Stamp Set coordinates perfectly with Frosted Bouquet Dies.  I’ve demonstrated both of these products for my class cards and tags.

When I’m planning a class I use the same colour combinations and use the same stamp sets for all the projects I am demonstrating.  Why add more colours and stamp sets to the mix? The more you add, the heavier your load is to carry!

The colours I’ve used on my projects are:

  • Calypso Coral
  • Grapefruit Grove
  • Basic Gray
  • Crumb Cake
  • Black Memento Ink for sentiment stamping

I designed my cards for the following occasions:

  • Birthday
  • Wedding
  • Christmas

To start off this class, I will get the attendees to stamp the following images on an A4 piece of Whisper White Cardstock:

4 large flowers in Calypso Coral Ink

3 small flowers in Grapefruit Grove Ink

2 leaf stems in Basic Gray Ink

1 leaf stem in Crumb Cake Ink

Ink up 4 flower buds by applying Calypso Coral & Basic Gray Markers directly to the stamp, huff on the image and stamp on to cardstock

Wishing You All The Best Card & Tag

I used the two framelits to create a frame with Calypso Coral Cardstock.  I kept the centre of Calypso Coral Cardstock frame to use on my Christmas card. I then added a thin strip of Basic Gray Cardstock.  With my 2 ½ inch Circle Punch I cut a Whisper White Circle.  I then layered the flowers, leaves and diecut under the sentiment. For that little bit of sparkle, I added one Basic Rhinestone.

To create the tag I stamped the ink splashes stamp from Swirly Bird Stamp Set. I cut a Whisper White Cardstock circle with my 1 3/8 inch Circle Punch, added a strip of Calypso Coral Cardstock and layered everything together.  Because I can’t leave a tag unfinished at the top, I added some Braided Linen Trim and tied a piece of Linen Thread in a bow to hold the Braided Linen Trim place.

Congratulations – Wedding Card and Tag

For my second card, I created the Silver Foil frame in the same way as it was created for my first card.  As with the first card, I kept the centre of the frame for my Christmas card.  I added a thin strip of Crumb Cake Cardstock and layered the flowers, leaves and die cut around the sentiment. I then added a Linen Thread and Bakers Twine bow and three Basic Rhinestones. Wedding cards next that little bit of extra bling.

The tag was created with the same background stamp, layering, flower, ribbons and die cuts as my first tag.

Christmas Card & Tag

I took my two leftover frames from the previous cards and layered them to my card. I then took some Linen Thread and adhered a strip across my card.  Using the marker direct to stamp technique, I created the four flower buds and cut them out. I stamped the sentiment on Whisper White Cardstock and punched it out with my 2 ½ inch Circle Punch.  The girls in my class know that this is my most favourite and most used punch I own.  I then layered the leaf and flowers and added a Linen Thread bow.

To create the tag I added everything the same as my previous tags, except this time the sentiment has been stamped on a 1 3/8 inch Whisper White Cardstock circle. In addition to the Calypso Coral Cardstock, I added a piece of Whisper White Cardstock.

Rochelle Blok is the next Artisan on our blog hop, so be sure to head over to her blog and see what she has created. Click on the button below and you will be taken to Rochelle’s blog.  From there you can check out all the amazing projects the team have created.
