Artisan Design Team Blog Hop – Blossoms In Bloom Bundle

Hey Everyone

Welcome to my blog and the latest Stampin’ Up! Design Team Blog Hop!

This month we are featuring products from the really pretty Blossoms In Bloom Bundle. This bundle consists of the Blossoms In Bloom Stamp Set and the matching Many Layered Blossoms Dies.

I’ve created two cards with this bundle – my first card features both the stamp set and the dies and the second card features the dies.

For my first card I stamped the flower image in Pool Party Ink on Whisper White Cardstock.  I  took the outline flower die, the  stamped flower image and lined up my plate and only ran it through a part of the image.  This allowed me to create a partial die cut on the side of the image. I accentuated the partial die cut by raising this layer up, adding a strip of Basic Black Cardstock and a strip of Whisper White Cardstock that was embossed with the Brick and Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.

I ran a piece of Whisper White Cardstock with the outline flower die through my machine and layered this over the stamped flower image. To create a difference to the centre of the flowers, I cut another outline die cut of Copper Foil and trimmed the centre of them. I lined the centres up and adhered them to the middle of the blooms. A heat embossed sentiment with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black Cardstock was added to my card. The ends of the sentiment were trimmed and raised up with Dimensionals.

For my second card, I started off with an embossed piece of Whisper White Cardstock with my Brick and Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.  I daubed the background with Pool Party Ink and layered it over a piece of Basic Black Cardstock at an angle. I took the Many Layered Blossoms Dies and cut the inner flower with Whisper White Cardstock. I then took some Copper Foil and cut the outside layer. As the centre of the flowers popped out with the die cut, I cut small pieces of Basic Black Cardstock and put them behind the centre of the blooms.

I then heat embossed the sentiment (also from the Blossoms In Bloom Stamp Set) with Versamark and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I had a Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding bow siting on my desk, so this was added along with three Flowers For Every Season Gems.

I hope you like what I’ve created with this bundle. I know you’re going to love what the team have made. The next person on the hop is the very talented Nina Waldschmidt. Click here to take you to her blog or click on the button below.

Artisan Design Team Blog Hop – Flowers for Every Season Suite

Hey Everyone

I am so excited to share the cards I’ve made for the latest Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team blog hop.  You may’ve guessed that I LOVE anything floral, so when I saw that the suite we are featuring products from is the Flowers For Every Season Suite, I was beside myself!

All of my cards feature beautiful floral backgrounds. These floral backgrounds are from the Flowers For Every Season Memories and More Card Pack. I’ve cut them and created floating panels for each of them to showcase them with different layouts.

The first card I created features items from the Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle.  In this bundle you get the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set and the Sunflowers Dies. The sunflowers in the stamp set are gorgeous and perfect for colouring.  I gave my petals colour with a combination of So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake and Smoky Slate Blends. The Smoky Slate Blends were added to the centre of the petals to add shadows and create depth to the images. Instead of adding green leaves to my card, I added Whisper White Cardstock leaves created with the Sunflowers Dies. The sentiment is from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set and it created the third panel on my card. The last embellishment I added to my card was a bow of Misty Moonlight/Silver Bakers Twine from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack.

As well as a background from the Flowers for Every Season Memories and More Card Pack, my second card features products from the Jar Of Flowers Bundle.  I added three strips of the M&MCP that have been raised with Dimensionals.  In the Jar Of Flowers Bundle you receive the Jar Punch that coordinates with the Jar Of Flowers Stamp Set.  The stamp set has a jar image as well as four posies of different flower types. The posy I’ve used on my card has been coloured with a combination of the following blends: Real Red, Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo & Smoky Slate Blends. I added a strip of hand cut Basic Gray Cardstock that I thinly trimmed with my scissors.  I roughed it up with my fingers and hope it resembles the stick type things that you get sometimes get in flowers…..

The jar image has been lightly coloured with the Light Petal Pink Blend.  I took some more Misty Moonlight/Silver Bakers Twine from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack and looped it around the jar twice and tied a knot. The sentiment is from the Celebrate Flowers Stamp Set and again, I have created floating panels by raising it with Dimensionals and adding it to the side of my card.

For my third and final card, I’ve used a combination of products from both bundles. For a different floating panels layout, I cut four rectangles of card from the Flowers For Every Season Memories & More Card Pack.  I added a strip of Whisper White Cardstock across the centre of the card – initially for a sentiment, but I couldn’t make a sentiment fit. So instead, I stamped a sentiment and quickly trimmed around the sentiment and layered it over the image.

The jar image has been stamped and coloured lightly with my Light Seaside Spray Blend.  I then took the Jar Punch and punched out the jar. The lid of the jar is stamped with Black Memento Ink and fussy cut out.  I cut a strip of Whisper White Faux Linen Ribbon and the Misty Moonlight/Silver Baker’s Twine and tied them around the jar. When you google “decorated mason jars”, I see a lot of them have flowers added to the side of the jar, so I added a sunflower image coloured with Flirty Flamingo and Real Red Blends. The straw-like images have been stamped with Real Red Ink and fussy cut out – I couldn’t resist adding them for some height and for some interest. Whisper White Cardstock leafy die cuts were adhered to the mix as I had them sitting on my desk left over from my first card.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the projects I’ve created. I know you’re going to love what the Artisan Team have made using these fabulous products from the Flowers For Every Season Suite.  The next hop along the way is my creative friend Nina Waldschmidt.  Click here to take you to her blog or click on the button below. Artisan Design Team Blog Hop – Make A Splash

Hey Everyone

Can you believe it’s May already? I can’t. The Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team are hopping again.  The team are featuring projects that have been made with Hostess Stamp Sets from the Annual Catalogue.  I sometimes forget to look at these sets, so I have to remind myself to point them out to my hostesses and guests at the start of a workshop.

The set I got the pleasure of playing around with was the Make A Splash Stamp Set. Have a look at these cute lil fishies!

Check out the fun projects I’ve made with this set. My card and gifts cards feature watercoloured backgrounds with fussy cut fish and crab images raised up with dimensionals. I also took my Aqua Painter and flicked Bermuda Bay Ink to create ink splatters over each of the cards.

For my first card I created the watercoloured and ink splattered background.  I took my Heat Tool and quickly dried off the cardstock. Because the fibres in cardstock loosens once wet, I needed my Stamparatus to stamp the fishbowl image with Black Memento Ink. The image didn’t quite come out dark enough on the first go, so I was able to re-ink the stamp still on the Stamparatus and stamp again. This time it was dark enough to stand out against the Bermuda Bay watercoloured background.

I then stamped the plant images with Bermuda Bay Ink and fussy cut them out. The fish image has been stamped in Crumb Cake Ink and also fussy cut out.  I love my Braided Linen Trim and couldn’t resist adding this under my sentiment. I roughed up the ends of the trim and stuck it down with Glue Dots.  I had an off cut piece of Bermuda Cardstock laying on my desk.  I tore the edge of this and adhered it to my cardstock base. Three Rhinestone Basic Jewels finished off this card.

My little set of gifts cards are 7cm and 7cm in size. I created them with the same watercoloured background and fussy cut images. Braided Linen Trim was also added to these cards, because I’m addicted to it and I couldn’t help it. I added a mix of all the images with the various sentiments in the Make A Splash Stamp Set. These gift cards would be perfect to make at a workshop. They are quick and easy to put together and would wow your hostess with watercolouring and flicked background techniques.

I hope you’ve liked the projects I’ve made and I have inspired you to create your own fishbowl and fish-y themed cards. The next hop along the way is the talented Nina Waldschmidt. Click here to take you to her blog and make sure you check out all the wonderful projects the team have created.

Artisan Design Team – Country Club Suite & Mountain Air Bundle Blog Hop

Hey Everyone

Welcome to April already and welcome to the latest Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team blog hop.  This month the team have created projects showcasing products from the Country Club Suite and the Mountain Air Bundle. I’ve made two cards this month – both with the fabulous argyle print DSP from Country Club Designer Series Paper.

Masculine cards don’t come to me as easy as feminine cards,  However, I was surprised to find that it didn’t take too long at all to come up with these cards. Must’ve been the great products I was working with! 🙂

My first card was made mostly with goodies from the Country Club Suite.  I wanted to show off the wooden elements from the Country Club Elements pack. Even though I wanted to use them all, I only went with two so as to not overload the card. I used the golf club and the argyle type edgelit in my layering.  The two Smoky Slate Cardstock trees have been cut with the Majestic Mountain Dies. The golf ball image has been stamped in Black Memento Ink and coloured with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush – the photo doesn’t show how glittery the ball is though….. I added a little bit of colour to the grass with my Call Me Clover Blends. Basic Black Twine, from the Country Twine Combo Pack, was roughed up on the ends and layered under the sentiment – the sentiment is also from the Clubhouse Stamp Set. All of my layering is attached to a Whisper White Cardstock die cut with the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.

When it came time for a second card, I reached for the argyle print DSP again so that it tied in with my first card. I’d planned to run a class with these cards and by keeping the products the same, I won’t have to carry too items along – hopefully I’ll be seeing my class girls together again soon to run this class…..

I also wanted to demonstrate a different style of folded card.  This card opens under the label dies where the Basic Black Cardstock meets the Whisper White Cardstock. The card edges are held together with the tip of the WW die cut and the Basic Black Twine.  I punched two holes on the Smoky Slate Cardstock die with the Label Me Fancy Punch and threaded the Basic Black Twine through them and adhered it to the right side of the card.  The WW die cut has been stamped with the trio of birds stamp from the Mountain Air Stamp Set and adhered to the left side of the card.

Another way I matched this card to the first card was by using the same tree die cuts from the Majestic Mountain Dies. This time I cut them out of Bermuda Bay Cardstock.  The sentiment I’ve adhered to this card is from the Golfhouse Stamp Set.

As you can see, the card opens under the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. It’s a really easy fold and the card is held closed by the die cut and knotted twine.

The inside of my card was decorated with a strip of the DSP, a sentiment and the birds from the Clubhouse Stamp Set.  I always keep off cut strips of DSP just to decorate the inside to coordinate with the card front.

I hope you like the projects I’ve created. Make sure you check out the whole hop and see all the gorgeousness the team have created.  The next hop along the way is the talented Nina Waldschmidt.  Click here to take you to her blog or on the button below.

Artisan Design Team – Ornate Garden Blog Hop 2

Hey Everyone

Welcome to my blog!  The Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team have are hopping again with projects created with the Ornate Garden Suite.  This suite has been available to demonstrators to buy for a couple of weeks now.  But as of 1st April, 2020, customers can now order this suite or any of the products separately!  This suite is an early release from the upcoming 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue – so make sure you take advantage of getting your hands on these goodies before the cattle comes out!

This is our second hop creating projects using the gorgeous products from this suite.  The cards I made for the previous hop can be seen by clicking here.

My previous projects featured the amazing floral image from Ornate Garden Stamp Set and Ornate Border Dies.  This time I wanted to change things up and feature the Ornate Layers Dies with the Ornate Garden Stamp Set.

The products in this suite really are versatile. The samples I’ve created show how you can keep a card quite simple by letting the image be the main focal point and how you can a create a layered and more detailed card by adding diecuts to the image.

The first card I created has a strip of the pretty gold embossed Mint Macaron DSP, from the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper, along one side.  I kept the card pretty clean as I wanted the detailed image from the Ornate Garden Stamp Set do all the work.  The flowery image has a variety of blooms and leaves.  I added colour to the flowers with a combination of Purple Posy, Highland Heather and Smoky Slate Blends. The leaves have been coloured with my Mint Macaron and Smoky Slate Blends.  I tend to use my Smoky Slate Blends to add shadows and definition to creases of the images, but this time I also coloured the smallest flowers with them.

The sentiment I added to my card is from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set.  I used the smaller sentiment as I didn’t want to cover up too much of the image. I spent way too long colouring to hide my work!  I added a diecut from the Ornate Layers Dies in Whisper White Cardstock under the image.  This diecut has been cut in half with just the edges peaking out from under the cluster of flowers.  I added some Gilded Gems, three as always, to add some bling to my card.

The second card I created is layered and features die cuts from the Ornate Layers Dies as well as some of the pretty DSP I added to my first card. I like to create cards in ranges and keep them consistent.

I took some Purple Posy Cardstock and diecut the first layer.  The die I used gives the cardstock a really pretty frame around the edge. I added another diecut cut with Whisper White Cardstock and layered it under the image.  The image has again been coloured with a combination of Blends.  The sentiment I added to my card is simple and one that I could give to so many people in my life at the moment.  Because of the many details on this card, I only added one Gilded Gem.

I hope you like the cards I’ve created using the products from the Ornate Garden Suite.  Don’t forget this is a special early release suite from the upcoming catalogue. It feels a bit spesh to be able to get a sneak peak of a catalogue item this early!

Artisan Design Team – Best Dressed Suite & Sale-A-Bration Second Release Blog Hop

Hey Everyone

It’s time for another Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Hop.

Sale-A-Bration is an exciting time of the year—and it just got even better with more fantastic products to
earn! More products mean more creative possibilities to experiment with!  Sale-A-Bration would have to be my favourite time of year. For every AU$90 I spend from the Annual Catalogue or the January – June Mini Catalogue, I earn a free Sale-A-Bration item! Who wouldn’t love free product just for doing what I normally do?  Spending is pretty easy with the current catalogues we have.

Sale-A-Bration is available until 31st March and now there’s more items to choose from with a Second Release Brochure. The Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team have created one project using products from the January – June Mini Catalogue and the second project showcases items from the second release earned during the SAB period.

The card I created on the left has been made with the following items from the Mini Catalogue:

  • Dressed To Impress Stamp Set $31.00.
  • Best Dressed 6″ x 6″ .Designer Series Paper $20.00
  • Best Dressed Tassels $14.00
  • Thick Whisper White Cardstock $14.25
  • Petal Pink Cardstock $15.25
  • Petal Pink Ink $13.00.

By buying these products and spending AU$90, you then qualify for a Sale-A-Bration item free.  You can choose your free item from the first or second Sale-A-Bration brochure.

To create my card, I stamped one of the background stamps from the Dressed To Impress Stamp Set with Petal Pink Ink.  I then fussy cut a combination of flowers and perfume bottles from the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper.  The sentiment I’ve added to my card is from the Dressed To Impress Stamp Set also.  The sentiment has been stamped in Black Memento Ink. I added a strip of Petal Pink Cardstock under the sentiment to tie all the colours together.  One of the Best Dressed Tassels finished off my card.

For my second card I added a flower from the Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper. This pack of DSP is the item that I earned free for spending $90 before 31st March. As you can see, I fussy cut the flower and leaves directly from one of the papers. This pack of DSP is perfect for the avid crafter! The images and patterns on this DSP are perfect for adding colour to.  You can sponge, brayer, daub or use your Blends like I’ve done.

The flower is coloured with my Petal Pink Blends and the little buds are coloured with my Calypso Coral Blends.  I gave the leaves some colour with both of my Old Olive Blends. The bottle of perfume is from the Dressed To Impress Stamp Set. It’s been coloured with my Petal Pink Blends and Smoky Slate Blends.  You can’t quite see it in the photo, but I also gave some glitter to the lid of the bottle with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. I had one fussy cut bloom left over from my first project, so I added it to near the lid of the bottle.  To be consistent, and to tie it in with my first card, I added a Best Dressed Tassel to my perfume bottle.

Dont forget! The Sale-A-Bration earning period ends on March 31, 2020. To get your hands on these products, make sure you get your order in by then.

The next amazing Artisan Design Team member on the hop is the talented Nina Waldschmidt.  Click here to take you to her blog, click here or on the button below.  Make sure you check out the whole hop to see the wonderful designs the team have created.

Artisan Design Team – Peaceful Poppies Suite Blog Hop

Hey Everyone

It’s that time where the Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team are hopping! This month the products we are featuring are from the Peaceful Poppies Suite. I adore ALL of the products in this suite and was able to put my projects together as soon as I received them. The sentiments I’ve used on all of my projects are from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set that comes in the suite – or you can buy all of these products individually.

My first card has been layered with these gorgeous papers from the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper pack.  The colours in these papers became the colour combination for my projects.  After angling the papers, I added the basic black embossed circle from the Peaceful Poppies Elements. The embossed pieces from this pack are the perfect addition when you want to add an elegant element without having to get out your embossing powers and heat tool.

My flowers are from the Painted Poppies Stamp Set.  I gave them some ink by watercolouring them lightly with Rich Razzleberry Ink.  I took my Daffodil Delight Blends and added some colour to the centre of the poppies.  Under the poppies, I added some Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizzazz leaves cut with my Poppies Moments Dies.  I also cut some Whisper White and Rich Razzleberry die cuts from other dies in the Poppies Moments Dies to layer behind my poppies.

The second card I created uses the same Rich Razzleberry DSP from Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper.  I added an embossed trim from the Peaceful Poppies Elements.  I really love the effect this piece of edging gives my card.  It matches the embossed circle that I’ve used on this card too.  I added some more poppies and leaves and three sequins from the Peaceful Poppies Sequins.

For my last project, I created some tags that I attached to a 6″ x 8″ Cellophane Bag filled with chocolates.  The tags are made from the matching DSP to my cards and Whisper White Cardstock.  Both of these tags have been trimmer/hand cut and are attached to the bag with the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding. I added an edgelit and a strip of Basic Black Cardstock and layered my poppy and leaves together with the sentiment.

I hope you’ve enjoyed what I’ve created.  The team have designed amazing projects that will wow you! The next hop along the way is the talented Nina Waldschmidt.  Click here to take you to her blog or on the button below.

Blends on Vellum Tip

Hey Everyone

Welcome to my blog and Saturday morning here in Australia.

I’ve got a tip to share with you on how to use your Stampin’ Up! Blends on Vellum Cardstock.  I’ve watercoloured on Vellum Cardstock before with my Aqua Painter, but until recently hadn’t tried my Blends. Because of the slick surface to vellum, I found the result quick streaky and the ink didn’t dry for ages – if at all.

To get around the streaky finish, I did the following:

  • Start with embossing an image on the vellum with Embossing Powder and Heat Tool.  I’ve chosen Painted Poppies Stamp Set for my card.
  • Turn the image over and apply your Blend colour of choice to the back of the image.  I’ve added a light shade over the complete image and then applied a dark shade around the centre of the flower.
  • I then took my Journaling Pen and in a little zig-zag type motion, I added shadows around the centre of the flower.

As you can see with the flowers on the left, I truly haven’t been that careful with my colouring and shading.  When you flip the flower over, you will see the vellum is very forgiving and softens any lines you may have left.  Once you adhere your image to your card, the tackiness is face down and won’t be a problem.  I attached the poppies to my card with Dimensionals which are hidden under the embossed centre of the flowers.

Black, white and yellow is one of my favourite colour combinations and this strip of DSP from Golden Honey Speciality Designer Series Paper makes any card a stand out.  You can earn this gorgeous pack of DSP during Sale-A-Bration when you spend $90 here in Australia.

Thanks for stopping by.

Artisan Design Team Blog Hop – From My Heart Suite

Hey Everyone

Welcome to my blog and the newest Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!  This month the team have created projects featuring the products in the From My Heart Suite.  I’ve created a card, mini heart gifts cards and decorated a Heart Foil Tin for the gifts cards. There may or may not be chocolates still in the Heart Foil Tins. Not sure what happens to chocolates after I photograph them. They just kind of disappear when I’m not looking…..

The card I’ve created features images from the Heartfelt Stamp Set as well as one of these sweet Heart Doilies. The piece of DSP I’ve matted with Smoky Slate Cardstock is called From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I gave my Whisper White Cardstock some background stamping with my Versamark Ink and White Embossing Powder. Once I set the embossing powder, I layered it over my DSP.  I added one of the Heart Doilies and looped some Real Red 3/8″ Double-Stitched Satin Ribbon over a strip of Smoky Slate Cardstock before adding a stamped Heart, arrow and embossed sentiment.  The From My Heart Faceted Gems were the perfect bling-y finish I needed to my card.

I was really pleased with these Heart Foil Tins when they arrived! I can see so many uses for them.  I decorated mine with the same images and doily that I used on my card.  I then took some of the fabulous Real Red 3/8″ Double-Stitched Satin Ribbon and adhered it around the lid of the tin.  I then tied the biggest bow I could and added it to the edge.

I would’ve loved to have baked in these fabulous Heart Foil Tins, but I’m hopeless at baking…..so I stuck with creating mini gift cards. To create them, I folded a piece of Thick Whisper White Cardstock in half and used the smaller punch from the Heart Punch Pack to cut a heart out of the folded cardstock – making sure I left the corner un-punched (is that even a word?) I then inked up the centre of the gift card with stamps from the Heartfelt Stamp Set.   I added heart doilies to the front of the gift cards and decorated them with a stamped heart and sentiment.

I hope you like what I’ve created with these products.  The next hop along the way is the super talented Nina Waldschmidt.  Click here or not the button below to take you to her blog.

Artisan Design Team – Sale-A-Bration Coordination Blog Hop

Hey Everyone

Welcome to my blog and the very first 2020 Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team blog hop!  But first, have a look at the gorgeous colours they’ve used in the Artisan picture above. They’re so pretty that I think I may have to combine these colours on a card soon!

The Artisan Design Team are featuring products from the Coordination Product Release. The Coordination Product Release is an exclusive, limited-time collection of products that has everything you need to let you celebrate your creativity. These products are available for demonstrators to pre-order from 3rd January-3rd February.  Preorders are limited to one per demonstrator. By getting your hands on these products now, you can demonstrate to your customers how they coordinate with items from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue and the January-June 2020 Mini Catalogue.  Let them know that these goodies are available to order from the 4th February 2020 and that these products are available for a limited time, so they won’t want to miss out.

The cards I’ve created feature the Nature’s Thoughts Dies.  These dies coordinate with the Positive Thoughts Stamp Set which is available to purchase now from the January-June 2020 Mini Catalogue.  You might know I’m a fussy cutter, but I’m not now with these dies! From beginners to the avid crafter these dies will make creating cards a breeze.

I had fun with colours and layering with the cards below:

To create the first card, I daubed the background Whisper White Cardstock with Pear Pizzazz Ink.  I stamped two fern fronds on to Whisper White Cardstock with Pear Pizzazz Ink and used the coordinating die to cut them out. I then stamped two Smoky Slate flower images and cut them out with the coordinating die. To add some definition to the flowers, I took my Journaling Pen and added some dots to the centre of the flowers.  I then added the sentiment with a strip of Mint Macaron Cardstock and a strip of Smoky Slate die cut with another die from the set.

For my second card I matted the daubed Whisper White Cardstock with some Smoky Slate Cardstock. I wanted to create a frame with the frame die in the set.  I used my trimmer to cut the centre out of the die cut to create a thin frame.   I then stamped and cut two fern fronds and layered them in the frame.  I fell in love with the butterfly from the stamp set and wanted to use it on my second card.  I gave my butterfly some colour with my Mint Macaron and So Saffron Blends. Lucky for me, there’s also a framelit for this butterfly in the Nature’s Thoughts Dies. I then added a strip of Mint Macaron Cardstock and a Smoky Slate Cardstock edgelit under the sentiment.

These coordination products are amazing and save you fussy-cutting time – that means you can spend more time creating fabulous projects!  Don’t forget, Demonstrators have exclusive access to these products now, so why don’t you give yourself a little New Years present and put in an order?
