Just Add Ink #515

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink.  This week our challenge for you is to:

I had to google mixed media…. I may’ve created mixed media cards in the past and didn’t even know it!  To create this card I took a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and gave it a watercoloured background with Night Of Navy Ink.  Once I dried this off with my Heat Gun, I stamped the script stamp from Very Versailles Stamp Set in Night Of Navy Ink. I then took my Embossing Paste and Basic Pattern Decorative Masks and added some texture.

I cut some leafy dies with my Forever Flourishing Dies out of Smoky Slate and Night Of Navy Cardstocks. I layered these with some Braided Linen Thread under the sentiment and a strip of Purple Posy Cardstock that I had laying on my desk.

The girls at Just Add Ink have created wonderful projects with this challenge. Head over to Just Add Ink and take a look.  We would love it if you could play along!

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. This is so beautiful, looks like a professional painting.

Do you have any tips on distressing your card? I have never done this or seen it done before. This really add to your layers of cards. I would love to try this.

    Thanks so much.

  2. Really lovely layers and textures Narelle. I really love how you added the embossing paste over top of the stamped and inked areas. My fav colours too. xx

  3. Wow, Narelle! You seem to be as talented for mixed media cards as you are for floral ones. Thus, a mixed media card featuring greeneries is a double treat. And I love all these shades of blue too!
