Just Add Ink #513

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge for you to play along with at Just Add Ink. Our challenge for you is to:

For this challenge I’ve chosen Trees and Texture.  The trees I’ve added to my card are tree branches from the Very Versailles Stamp Set.  I used the marker direct to stamp technique.  I applied a combination of Soft Suede, Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizzazz Markers to my image, huffed on it and stamped it directly to the cardstock. I repeated this process and fussy cut both branches out.

I then took my Brick and Mortar 3D Embossing Folder and embossed the cardstock. I then took my Soft Suede Marker and tapped it on my Bone Folder to create the splatters you can see on the embossed cardstock.  Just for a bit of something extra, I took a dauber and Pool Party Ink and daubed the background you can see under the branches.

I then stamped the frame image in Soft Suede Ink and fussy cut it out.  I pierced the centre of the frame and fussy cut the centre of it out so that you can see the sentiment (also from the Very Versailles Stamp Set) is raised in the centre. I tied a Linen Thread Bow and was going to attach it, but as it was a similar colour to the branches, it got lost on my card.  So I took my Old Olive Blend and coloured the Linen Thread. Three Metallic Pearls to finish off my card after I layered my embossed Whisper White Cardstock on some Soft Suede Cardstock at an angle.

The girls at Just Add Ink have created wonderful cards using the elements from the challenge. Pop over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

Narelle

  1. Narelle, this is an awesome looking card, I love everything about it.

I love the distressing of the edges, how do I go about achieving this technique? Is this top layer glued perhaps only in the center.

    Thanks, Lora
