Can you believe it’s May already? I can’t. The Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team are hopping again. The team are featuring projects that have been made with Hostess Stamp Sets from the Annual Catalogue. I sometimes forget to look at these sets, so I have to remind myself to point them out to my hostesses and guests at the start of a workshop.
The set I got the pleasure of playing around with was the Make A Splash Stamp Set. Have a look at these cute lil fishies!
Check out the fun projects I’ve made with this set. My card and gifts cards feature watercoloured backgrounds with fussy cut fish and crab images raised up with dimensionals. I also took my Aqua Painter and flicked Bermuda Bay Ink to create ink splatters over each of the cards.
For my first card I created the watercoloured and ink splattered background. I took my Heat Tool and quickly dried off the cardstock. Because the fibres in cardstock loosens once wet, I needed my Stamparatus to stamp the fishbowl image with Black Memento Ink. The image didn’t quite come out dark enough on the first go, so I was able to re-ink the stamp still on the Stamparatus and stamp again. This time it was dark enough to stand out against the Bermuda Bay watercoloured background.
I then stamped the plant images with Bermuda Bay Ink and fussy cut them out. The fish image has been stamped in Crumb Cake Ink and also fussy cut out. I love my Braided Linen Trim and couldn’t resist adding this under my sentiment. I roughed up the ends of the trim and stuck it down with Glue Dots. I had an off cut piece of Bermuda Cardstock laying on my desk. I tore the edge of this and adhered it to my cardstock base. Three Rhinestone Basic Jewels finished off this card.
My little set of gifts cards are 7cm and 7cm in size. I created them with the same watercoloured background and fussy cut images. Braided Linen Trim was also added to these cards, because I’m addicted to it and I couldn’t help it. I added a mix of all the images with the various sentiments in the Make A Splash Stamp Set. These gift cards would be perfect to make at a workshop. They are quick and easy to put together and would wow your hostess with watercolouring and flicked background techniques.
I hope you’ve liked the projects I’ve made and I have inspired you to create your own fishbowl and fish-y themed cards. The next hop along the way is the talented Nina Waldschmidt. Click here to take you to her blog and make sure you check out all the wonderful projects the team have created.
