Hey Everyone
There’s a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches for you to try. Our sketch designer this week is the fabulous Linda Callahan. Check out her cool sketch:
Good Morning Magnolia is a stamp set that I have been wanting to use for ages. My mum has a magnolia tree and I wanted to try colouring the closed magnolia buds with the same colours. The images have been stamp with Black Memento Ink and the buds have been given colour with my Purple Posy Blends. The leaves have been given a quick shade with Granny Apple Green Ink and an Aqua Painter.
The Gray Granite Cardstock I’ve layered in the background has been cut with my Stitched Nested Labels Dies. I then chose a sentiment from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set and cut the sentiment with the same die. In the background I’ve added flicks of Gray Granite Ink by picking up some ink with my Aqua Painter and tapping it on my finger. Lastly, I added three Pearl Basic Jewels, a strip of Linen Thread and tied a bow.
The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created wonderful cards using Linda’s sketch. Pop over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.
Thanks for stopping by.
Cheers
Narelle
I love your pretty, purple magnolias! And your color flicking is fabulous — mine never turns out that good with that method.
These buds with just a hint of purple are sweet as can be! And you have mad flicking skills…..i have mad blobbing skills…..
I love your use of those shapes for this sketch. The shapes and your beautifully colored flowers are absolutely beautiful!
