Hey Everyone
We have a new challenge for you to play along with at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge for you is a sketch challenge:
It was only after I took my photo did I realise two things – my sentiment is a tad skewed (will fix this tomorrow) and I may’ve got the layering a little wrong…. My excuse is I had a busy weekend and hurriedly put together this card after a card class on Sunday. I’m blaming weary eyes and not enough concentration….
I thought it was time that I created a man card. I don’t have as much need for a masculine cards as as I do with my feminine ones, but my man card stash was getting a little low. The stamp set I chose for this card is called Sailing Home Stamp Set. I stamped the three images and gave them some colour with some blends. I fussy cut them out and put them aside until I’d daubed the background with some Pool Party Ink. I placed my images on the card and then decided I needed more details, so I stamped the birds on the card base – I then felt I had enough details.
I adhered all my images, sentiment and Linen Thread. Lastly, I really roughed up the Linen Thread and pulled it apart in places and stuck it in place with Glue Dots.
The team at Just Add Ink have created fab cards with the design. Head over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.
Thanks for stopping by.
Cheers
Narelle
Absolutely LOVE your card, Narelle!!! The way you added special touches like the blue sky and the jute twine REALLY make this card feel pulled together and professional! I pinned it to my card inspiration board because of how impressed I was when I saw it!!! Thank you!
Now you made me re-look at the sentiment…..I love the layering and the way the linen thread look so rustic. A great Man card. Chantell x x
This is such an amazing use of the sketch!! Masculine can be so hard but I think you’ve managed to add tons of fabulous detail and still so perfect for a guy.
I absolutely love your card Narelle. Actually, I love all your work and your style. It has a unique flair. Just beautiful. I hope you don’t mind but I have cased your card and you can see it on my blog. You can see it at http://teresascreativecards.blogspot.com/2020/09/sailing-home-case.html
