Stampin’ Up! Artisan Blog Hop – Carry Over Event

Hey Everyone

Welcome to another Artisan Design Team Blog Hop and our May Carry Over Event. This month our team are creating projects to demonstrate at a class or workshop featuring products that have carried over to the Stampin’ Up! 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue.

I think it took me all of three minutes to choose my preferred stamp set for this blog hop.  First Frost Stamp Set is such a beautiful set and so very versatile with assorted sentiments.   Stamp sets with sentiments that cover more than one occasion is great, but when there’s three sentiments – I’m all in and that stamp set needs to be in my next order.

First Frost Stamp Set coordinates perfectly with Frosted Bouquet Dies.  I’ve demonstrated both of these products for my class cards and tags.

When I’m planning a class I use the same colour combinations and use the same stamp sets for all the projects I am demonstrating.  Why add more colours and stamp sets to the mix? The more you add, the heavier your load is to carry!

The colours I’ve used on my projects are:

  • Calypso Coral
  • Grapefruit Grove
  • Basic Gray
  • Crumb Cake
  • Black Memento Ink for sentiment stamping

I designed my cards for the following occasions:

  • Birthday
  • Wedding
  • Christmas

To start off this class, I will get the attendees to stamp the following images on an A4 piece of Whisper White Cardstock:

4 large flowers in Calypso Coral Ink

3 small flowers in Grapefruit Grove Ink

2 leaf stems in Basic Gray Ink

1 leaf stem in Crumb Cake Ink

Ink up 4 flower buds by applying Calypso Coral & Basic Gray Markers directly to the stamp, huff on the image and stamp on to cardstock

Wishing You All The Best Card & Tag

I used the two framelits to create a frame with Calypso Coral Cardstock.  I kept the centre of Calypso Coral Cardstock frame to use on my Christmas card. I then added a thin strip of Basic Gray Cardstock.  With my 2 ½ inch Circle Punch I cut a Whisper White Circle.  I then layered the flowers, leaves and diecut under the sentiment. For that little bit of sparkle, I added one Basic Rhinestone.

To create the tag I stamped the ink splashes stamp from Swirly Bird Stamp Set. I cut a Whisper White Cardstock circle with my 1 3/8 inch Circle Punch, added a strip of Calypso Coral Cardstock and layered everything together.  Because I can’t leave a tag unfinished at the top, I added some Braided Linen Trim and tied a piece of Linen Thread in a bow to hold the Braided Linen Trim place.

Congratulations – Wedding Card and Tag

For my second card, I created the Silver Foil frame in the same way as it was created for my first card.  As with the first card, I kept the centre of the frame for my Christmas card.  I added a thin strip of Crumb Cake Cardstock and layered the flowers, leaves and die cut around the sentiment. I then added a Linen Thread and Bakers Twine bow and three Basic Rhinestones. Wedding cards next that little bit of extra bling.

The tag was created with the same background stamp, layering, flower, ribbons and die cuts as my first tag.

Christmas Card & Tag

I took my two leftover frames from the previous cards and layered them to my card. I then took some Linen Thread and adhered a strip across my card.  Using the marker direct to stamp technique, I created the four flower buds and cut them out. I stamped the sentiment on Whisper White Cardstock and punched it out with my 2 ½ inch Circle Punch.  The girls in my class know that this is my most favourite and most used punch I own.  I then layered the leaf and flowers and added a Linen Thread bow.

To create the tag I added everything the same as my previous tags, except this time the sentiment has been stamped on a 1 3/8 inch Whisper White Cardstock circle. In addition to the Calypso Coral Cardstock, I added a piece of Whisper White Cardstock.
