Hey Everyone
Doilies. Who would’ve thought I’d be in love with them like I am? I’m sad that the Dear Doily Bundle will be retiring when the new catalogue comes out in June.
A long time ago, I created vintage-y cards and used only Neutrals Cardstock. I veered from this style to a more cleaner style, but wanted to re-visit vintage for my projects today – not completely vintage, but a vintage feel with the colours I’ve used, texture I’ve added and my use of doilies.
I created two cards and a pillow gift box with this bundle.
For my first card, I embossed the Crumb Cake card base with my Lacy Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I added a circle of Fresh Fig Cardstock behind my lace doily cut with my Doily Builder Thinlits Dies. I then took my Fresh Fig, Pear Pizzazz and Powder Pink Markers and directly coloured the flower stamp from Dear Doily Stamp Set. After huffing on it with my breath, I stamped it on Whisper White Cardstock. These flowers are so easy to cut out when there are matching dies – no fussy cutting! I then stamped the small doily in Fresh Fig Ink and punched out with my circle punch. I added an edgelit of Pear Pizzazz Cardstock and a torn piece of Powder Pink Cardstock. The sentiment I’ve used on my card is also from the Dear Doily Stamp Set.
I added a lot of layers to this card, so I kept a white background to let all of the elements be the focus. This time I stamped the small doily in Fresh Fig Ink directly to the card base. I then added the fresh fig backed doily, the flowers and the two-part sentiment. The second part of the sentiment is embossed on Crumb Cake Cardstock.
I am loving these little Kraft Gift Boxes. Super easy to decorate and are perfect when you realise you have no wrapping paper…..that’s me every time…..
I added all the same images and elements to my pillow box that I’d given to my cards. I then added some Whisper White Flax Ribbon and some Linen Thread to create a bellyband that I tied at the top of the pillow box.
Thanks for stopping by.
Cheers
Narelle
