I’m so sad to say farewell to Lovely As A Tree at the end of May, but at the same time, know that the versatility in Rooted In Nature will make up for my sadness of LAAT retiring.
I had a few hours today to play in my craft room and grabbed the following colours to create my Rooted In Nature card:
- Mint Macaron
- Basic Gray
- Smoky Slate
For the background of my card, I took a dauber, some Mint Macaron Ink and starting lightly applying the dauber in small circles to Thick Whisper White Cardstock. I then kept daubing until I got the right amount of colour I wanted. The circle of wood image is stamped in Smoky Slate and fussy cut out. I adhered this to the card base and added strips of Basic Gray and Smoky Slate Cardstocks.
I stamped the leaves with Memento Black Ink and gave a quick Mint Macaron watercolour to some of them. I did this so that the leaves tied in with the Mint Macaron from the background. I was thrilled when my 19yo son commented that was what he liked best when I asked him if he liked my card. How’s that? 19yo’s can be observant! Just not when it comes to the tidiness of their rooms……
The sentiment I’ve used is also from Rooted In Nature. It’s been stamped in Memento Black Ink. I added one last thing to my card – a Basic Gray die cut that I had sitting on my desk. The reason for this was I needed a solid colour in the cluster of leaves for balance. This die is from the Frosted Bouquet Framelits Dies.
Thanks for stopping by.
