Welcome to my blog. The 2019 Stampin’ Up! Artisan Team are back with a blog hop. This month, my cards are featuring the Dear Doily Bundle from the 2019 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalogue.
As soon as I saw that we were going to use this set, I wanted to create “pretty cards”. You all know by know that I love, love, love anything floral. I didn’t know I was going to love, love, love doilies just as much!
For my first card, I started with the the sentiment. I wanted to showcase how amazing it is and how it can be paired with a second sentiment from the stamp set. I stamped the small doily in Flirty Flamingo Ink on the base of the card. I then layered the large doily in Whisper White and tucked the medium sized Flirty Flamingo Doily underneath the top corner. I then layered my sentiment over the top.
The flowers were coloured with Flirty Flamingo and Old Olive Markers. I applied the markers directly to the stamp, huffed on them with my breath and stamped them on Thick Whisper White Cardstock. Normally I would have to fussy cut them out, but luckily there is a die to cut them out. This die is from a set called Doily Builder Thinlits Dies. I then cut a strip of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock and a strip of Thick Whisper White Cardstock for the second sentiment. All I had to do then was pop some Dimensionals underneath them to raise them up and this card was finished.
The second card I’ve made shows off the gorgeous flowers from Dear Doily as well as this oh-so-pretty Petal Pink/Whisper White 5/8″ Variegated Ribbon.
For this card, I stamped the large doily stamp in Flirty Flamingo from Dear Doily Stamp Set on the card base. I then cut a strip of this pretty ribbon and stuck it across my card. I tied a bow on my fingers (I had to remind myself how to do this as I haven’t done it in ages!) and adhered it to my card with a Glue Dot.
I then cut a medium doily with my die set in Flirty Flamingo Cardstock and then the edge die in Old Olive Cardstock. The sentiment I’ve used is also from Dear Doily. This sentiment is stamped in Basic Black Ink.
The flowers were also inked up with markers as my previous flowers were done. Both cards would be great cards to do at a workshop, because even though they look detailed, there really isn’t a lot to them.
The next hop along the way is my very talented and very lovely friend from Melbourne – Rochelle Blok. Rochelle really does create the most gorgeous and elegant cards. Click on her name above or on the badge below to continue to her blog.
