Freshly Made Sketches #309

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday and we’ve had a hot one here in Australia! It’s not even Summer yet and I was melting!!!  Think it’s going to be hot Summer……truly not looking forward to it arriving.  I’m a Winter lover!

This weeks sketch at Freshly Made Sketches has been designed by the superbly talented and super funny Linda Callahan.  This one’s a keeper for sure Linda!

Christmas is on my mind at the moment as someone said to me the other day it was less than 70 days until Santa arrives.  I hadn’t thought it was so close!  I’ve took this weeks sketch and created a Chrissy card to add to my stash.

I wanted to go with the following colours for my card:  Black, White, Green and Copper.  I’ve layered my circles with leaves and pinecone from Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies.  I added a strip of Striped Ribbon and Copper Trim to my layers and I’ve used Copper Embossing Powder for the sentiment.  The sentiment is from a Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Flurry of Wishes.  The DSP circle in the background is from Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper.

Here’s my card:

The girls at Freshly Made Sketches have nailed this weeks sketch – head over to the challenge and see for yourself!

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. What a beauty! I love how you’ve used that ribbon for a Christmas card, and the copper is a fabulous accent color with the rest. Thanks for the reminder about how Christmas is sneaking up on us — I’d better get busy!

  2. I’m trying to wrap around the hot temps and how funny it must be with some of the northern hemisphere winter holiday cards. I grew up in Florida so we were always mild (but not summery, in general). Anyway….I digress. This is gorgeous. I love it. As always!!! Every detail is perfect!
