Just Add Ink #360

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch waiting for you at Just Add Ink and this week I’m the sketch designer.  As always when I design a sketch, I’ve got NO clue what card I’m going to create.  In fact I created two because I wasn’t sure which one I liked best…..same sketch, but each so different.

Here’s the sketch I came up with:

The first of my cards is a shaker card.  Stampin’ Up!s Life Me Up is such a versatile stamp set that lends itself to either a feminine card or a masculine card.  Because I’ve used a bit of bling and gold ribbon, I think I’ll give this card to a female. The DSP I’ve used is from Urban Underground Specialty Designer Series Paper. I made sure I stocked up on this before it retires.

Here’s the second card I made.  I used the sketch to make a Mother’s Day card for my mum with some new Stampin’ Up! goodies.  The Daisy Delight Bundle is going to be a favourite for sure. When I first joined Stampin’ Up!, I purchased every coordinating stamp set and punch bundle there was. They really make stamping and cutting so easy. The colours I’ve used are Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist (you’ve probably noticed my love for these colours in my last couple of cards!).  The background behind my stitched circle was created by the smooshing technique and ink splatters from Swirly Bird. I was in the mood on the weekend for mastering this technique and ended up with really inky fingers!

The design team have created the most gorgeous cards this week.  I totally love them all! Head over to Just Add Ink and get ready to be inspired by them.

We would love it if you could play along!

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

Narelle

  1. I like that you have shared 2 completely different cards using different DSP and stamps but using the same design.
    Thank you ……

  2. Both of these cards are simply stunning Narelle. I love the Urban Underground DSP used as a two-toned backdrop for the shaker element of your card. Very impressive indeed. At first I thought you stamped it with the staple stamp. The combination of the paper and the Lift Me Up stamp set is wonderful and so inspiring. Great card! I also love the Mother’s Day card. Your combination of the new in colours in subtle splashes of colour is wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Wow both gorgeous cards, and so different to each other. I love! Thanks for such a great sketch this week, I enjoyed it so much I’ve made four cards with it already lol. xx

  4. Oh wow, these are both fabulous, Narelle! I love your fun balloon shaker and how you’ve cut the circle shape from your banners too. And your Mothers Day card is stunning – such a wonderful colour combo and love how youve used the smaller daisies in the set too. xx

  5. These are both fabulous Narelle. Love the peek of clouds in the shaker and your flowers are runaway gorgeous! Looks like it must have been a fun inky weekend!!! xxx

  6. You’re so the sketch queen, Narelle. Lovely seeing your two completely different takes on it. I can’t pick a fave between them, so glad you shared them both.
    D 🙂
