Hey Everyone
It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week I designed the sketch and as usual, I stumbled when it came time to sit down and put something together….. Don’t know why I don’t design a card without the pressure of a sketch and then take the sketch from that! Does that make sense???
I wanted to use Stampin’ Up!s Father Christmas – a set that hadn’t seen ink until this card. Do you ever really want to use a set and then when it comes time, you don’t know how to use it? That was me with this card. The background trees and sentiment are from a set called Christmas Magic. Here’s what I came up with:
Head over to Just Add Ink and see the gorgeous cards the girls have created.
Thanks for stopping by.
Cheers
Narelle
Another fabulous card! I love the mixe of styles. It is both vintage with this gorgeous Santa Claus and modern with the black and white.
That is a lovely Father Christmas stamp and I love how you have used the print as a background…
This Santa is extraordinary. What a gorgeous card!
I think this is just fabulous, Narelle! But I totally understand about working with your own sketches 🙂
Your card is beautiful; glad you persevered! Thanks for an awesome sketch … it was a lot of fun to play with. x
No stumbling at all! Love this vintage Santa!
Absolutely love how you paired this lovely Santa with the text of the DSP – and totally enjoyed playing with this sketch too xx
This has such a gorgeous nostalgic feel Narelle! Such a great effect to restrict all the colour to your Santa. xxx
I love your sketches! Maybe do exactly what you suggest, and make the card first & design the sketch from that next time? See how it works for you. Regardless, I love what you created. I’m always in awe of your layering….this is a really lovely Christmas card, my friend. xx
I thought that’s what you normally do when you create a sketch, Narelle 🙂 I always feel more stressed when it’s a ‘me’ challenge for some reason. Regardless, your card is so lovely. It has a really nice vintage look that’s somehow so fresh too.
D 🙂
