Hey Everyone
At Just Add Ink we always like to start the year off with a blog hop to showcase the first challenge of the year.
This year Rochelle has suggested we all “Just Add Something New”. Now I know that won’t be hard for the Stampin Up! demonstrators out there as the new Occasions Catalogue and Sale-a-bration promotions have started! If you don’t have anything new from SU! please join us using whatever new product you have and be sure to let us know what it is.
To make the blog hop extra special the design team have donated new SU! SAB items as prizes to the winner and two honorable mentions participants. Please note, to be eligible, you must create a “NEW” project using “SOMETHING NEW TO YOU” and leave a comment on all the design team blogs, be or become a follower of the JAI challenge blog and blog your project exclusively linked to Just Add Ink. Any entrants that link to additional challenges will be disqualified. (The prizes are open to both international and AUS/NZ participants).
We look forward to kicking the year off with a celebration of new crafty goodness and inspiration and hope you will join the challenge with us.
For my project I decided to make a matching card and gift box set showcasing Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration stamp sets called What I Love and the sentiment is from a set called Sky is the Limit. The designer series papers I’ve used are from Love Blossoms Designer Series Stack. I am loving the combination of Tip Top Taupe, Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride at the moment. The grungy background stamping is created using Timeless Textures which is available in the Occasions Catalogue.
Here’s a close up of my card:
And a photo of my gift box:
I found some time today to create a masculine card to balance out all the girliness of my card/gift box set. Again I’ve used some DSP from Stampin’ Up!s Love Blossoms Designer Series Stack and the airplane and sentiment are from a Sale-A-Bration set called Sky is the Limit.
You may’ve just hopped over from the lovely project that Rochelle has created – if not, that’s ok. You can begin the blog hop here on my blog or at any of the other design team members blog posts. Just follow the hop by clicking on the next or previous buttons you will find at the bottom of all the design team posts. Or you can start Here at the beginning. Next on the hop is the wonderfully talented Di– you’re going to love her gorgeous card!
Cheers
Narelle
Love the “grungy look” birthday card!
Your first card is as gorgeous as ever Narelle. I love the subtle colouring of the bloom. Great male card too with your take on the plane.
Mary
Gorgeous card and cute box. The masculine card looks great also.
Some beautiful projects, Narelle. The card and gift box has your signature style all over them – so vintage, full of gorgeous layers and floral images. Happy New Year.
As always, your projects are delightful. I love your style, and your color choice is so sweet and soothing.
Fabulous, as usual Narelle! Sadly, my Timeless Textures stamp set has yet to be cracked open, but I think it’s going to be a favourite.
I like the muted colours you’ve used and the way you have so seamlessly combined items from different sets. A lovely combination.
Wow, Narelle. These are all so fabulous. You combine elements so perfectly. The colours & patterns in your set create a balance of modern & vintage, freshness & grunge that is just wonderful. Your masculine card is honestly the first one I’ve really loved with Sky is the Limit. You constantly amaze me, girl!
Happy blog hop! D 🙂
Great colour combo on your first projects, Narelle; love the colours you’ve used for the flowers, especially. The clean look of your masculine card is a great contrast to your first card; both beautiful!
You do the vintage style so well Narelle – I love it! Kelly x
What a great gift set and LOVE the masculine card! 🙂
Such a soft and feminine feel to your card and gift box Narelle! Love all the layers and combination of elements. And your plane card is fabulous too – love the fussy cut plane offset from the circle! Xx
Narelle your first project is truly classic you all through. I love the muted distressed feel. The monochrome colour scheme is perfect for your clean feeling masculine card with the trimmed out plane adding just that little bit of extra special detail. xxx
Love your color combination and vintage look of your first card and box set. The masculine card with the old time planenis fabulous as well!
Gorgeous projects, Narelle. The difference between the shabby chic set and the masculine card are so dramatic and each is wonderful.
As always you have created a beautifully pretty and grungy card all at the same time!!!!
I love your projects and how you have managed to showcase so many different new products.
Lovely
A classic ‘Narelle’ creation for sure – gorgeous colour choices and layering.. I love it, as I love all of your work. So nice to see that you’ve created a little gift set – they are a perfect pair. xxx
As always, you create the most beautiful projects and cards!
Beautifull Narelle style. Love the details and layers and those colours are just gorgeous together. xx
Lovely soft flowers and layers but the plane one is my fave. Definitely have to try that layout
Such a great gift set and masculine card.
