One Third of a Craft Room Reno

Hey Everyone

No card from me this weekend even though it was a 4 day weekend for a lot of us Melbournians – something about a horse race that stops a nation?  Doesn’t really mean anything to me except it gives me a couple of extra sleep-ins!

I did manage to spend some time in my craft room. I’ve been itching to get my new storage cabinets from Colcraft installed. They’ve been sitting on the floor of my craft room for a couple of weeks ready to be installed on this long weekend.

I took a couple of photos to show you how much I was in need of new storage.  Here’s a before photo of my wall of clutter (look at the bend in that shelf!):

And an after photo from the same angle.

Here’s a before photo from the opposite side of the room. My hubby made me my 12 x 12 cardstock/DSP storage – it’s still in need of a clean up but I ran out of time today.

And in this after photo it shows I have enough room now for another unit – I’m thinking DVD storage…. I might be able to get rid of the separate DVD shelf shown in the next photo to the right of my desk.

Here’s one showing the majority of my clear mount stamps in the bookcase and my funky ikea cart with all my tape, scissors, tools, embellishments and twine.

What do you think?  It’s still a work in progress and it’s really only a third of my room.  The ikea cube storage unit that sits behind me will have to be tackled when I have a bit more drive in me.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

  1. So nice! Everything has a place! You will love it once it’s all done. It will take a bit of working in it to get used to. I have the shelves and use baskets to put things in on the shelves. Still using that system but sure wish I had cupboards!

  2. You make so many beautiful cards you deserve your lovely new craft space, imagine how much easier it will be for you to be even more creative 🙂

  3. Wow, Narelle, what a difference! I love it and I’m sure you are loving it too. I am a bit of a neat freak so I love organization (I alphabetized my spices!). …..best thing I ever bought myself was a labeller. I love your cards, Narelle. Thank you for always inspiring me with your art.

  4. Wow, that unit is fabulous! Had to follow your link to check them out. I just wish they shipped to NZ but the shipping would no doubt be exorbitant!
