Freshly Made Sketches #178

Hey Everyone

Can you believe it’s my turn to host our sketch at Freshly Made Sketches again?  I always stress when it’s my turn. What if no-one likes the sketch? What if I can’t create a card I like for my own sketch? Those type of questions run through my mind. I probably overthink things too much….

Everywhere I go in the shops, black and white fashion is so in.  I love the interesting shapes and patterns that are not only on tops but pants as well.  I tried on some black and white chevron 7/8 pants the other day and I think I might have to go back and buy them.  I carried over my love for black and white on to my card and have used strips of DSP to create an interesting border to my main panel. Here’s my card:

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

  1. Interesting doesn’t even begin to describe this. Vibrant, graphic, colorful. Those are some of the words I would use! Thanks for a great sketch this week. And don’t sweat it, we always love what you do!

  2. The black and white is such a striking frame for those gorgeous flowers. I LOVE this sketch and I love what you’ve done with it.

  3. This is so pretty with the pop of bright colors against the black and white background! And more fussy-cutting to create added dimension, too. Awesome card, Narelle! Loved the sketch this week.

  4. This is such a fresh and pretty card, Narelle. I love the black and white with those pretty pops of color. And I have loved every sketch you’ve made, including this one, so don’t worry about that.

  5. Thank you for creating such an inspiring sketch design this week. When I saw it, everything clicked: paper to use, stamps, etc. I am going to make several more cards this week using this same sketch! I also love your card. I wouldn’t have thought to use the bold geometric pattern with a delicate flower, but you have pulled all the elements together so that it works. Another idea for me to try!

  6. Such a gorgeous card Narelle! I love those chevrons! I sure hope you bought the matching pants! The flowers are so beautiful! You make the most beautiful flowers! Such a great sketch this week!
