Freshly Made Sketches #141

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week the lovely Cindy Hall is our sketch hostess and she’s provided this fabulous sketch.  I had so much fun creating my card and I know you’re going to love her sketch too!

Strawberry Slush is a colour I don’t use much, so I decided it was time to bring it out of the back of the cupboard and give it a go.  I really love the drama of any colour with Basic Black so that’s the colour I’ve teamed Strawberry Slush with today.  I’ve gone with one of my favourite flower stamp sets – Stippled Blossoms – for my card.  My leaves are also from this stamp set and are stamped in Old Olive.

I’m so lucky I made my cards for this weeks design team committments on Sunday. I wouldn’t have got them made if I left them until Monday.  The reason for this is because I had a fall on Monday and fractured my left radial head (a bone in my elbow) and I’m left handed! I’m sad to say I’m going to be out of action after tomorrows post for a little while – can you imagine how completely devastated about this? This post has taken forever to type with my non-dominant hand.

We’d love it if you can join us this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  Head over to the challenge and have a look at the gorgeous inspiration from the design team.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

Narelle

  1. This is such a beautiful card, and I love that it’s square! I think we should make more square cards!
So sorry to hear about your fall, and I sympathize. I had eye surgery 6 weeks ago, and I still can’t read a book, and I have to be careful what I stamp, as I am not seeing very clearly. Keep life simple and hope you heal soon. Don’t be afraid to ask somebody else to type for you 🙂

  2. Another fabulous card, Narelle and so striking! I don’t use Strawberry Slush either but it looks stunning with black. Best wishes for a speedy recovery! Don’t push yourself too soon even though you’ll be desperate to stamp!

  4. Narelle, this card is so lovely! I love the elegance of the pink and black together! Such beautiful flowers as well! I’m so sorry to hear about your elbow! I do hope you’re feeling better soon!

  5. The colors you chose are so beautiful together! I love this card! Gorgeous flowers and beautiful design! Heal quickly! We’re going to miss seeing your fabulous creations!

  6. Sorry to hear about your fall Narelle!
Perhaps a silly question, but what size is your card, and the small square cut outs size wise.
I am rather new at this… please when you feel like it can you send me a little note?

    Feel better soon.

    Sandra
