Card Concept Challenge #1

Hey Everyone

I’m a BIT excited about this post as it’s my first one designing with the amazingly talented team at The Card Concept.  I’m extremely honoured that Lesley asked me to be part of this new challenge and I want to say a huge thank you for the opportunity – if she lived on this side of the world I’d give her the biggest hug!

I’m designing along with Debbie Marcinkiewicz in the Shabby/Vintage style.  Here’s a definition of our style:

Definition:

  • the use of used, worn or inexpensive components to make stylish goods
  • distressed or sponged edges
  • old feel-antiqued
  • lots of embellishments
  • ribbons or lace
  • lots of layers

Our first challenge is a colour challenge:

I’m a huge lover of feminine florally cards (just in case you didn’t know!), so when I saw there was pink in the challenge colours I knew I wanted to create a card a girly card with pink blossoms.  The blossoms are from a Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Everything Eleanor and the leaves are my favourite from a stamp set called Summer Silhouettes. Here’s what I created:

The design team have created gorgeous inspiration for you so head over to the challenge and take a look.  We’d love for you to join us for our very first challenge at The Card Concept.  I can’t wait see your style.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

Narelle

  1. Yay go Aussie :). Congrats on your DT spot this is going to be an awesome blog and I love what you have done for your first card. Shabby chic is not really something I have really done so will look forward to taking on the challenge at some stage

  2. I love your card! This is one of my favorite styles to look at!! I’ve tried my own hand at it, to no avail!! So, thanks for sharing your beautiful creations with those of us that are challenged in this area!
