Hey Everyone
This weeks Just Add Ink Challenge is brought to us by the very talented Nikki Spencer. She’s given us the challenge to:
Just Add…….A Fun Background!
Now what this means is we challenge you to create an interesting background with something other than designer series paper. I reach for DSP to use in my background for every card I make, so this challenge had me thinking.
I’ve used the brayer embossing folder technique for my card today. I’ve used this technique a few times on my cards but to add that little bit of extra fun-ness, I’ve used a brighter colour than what I generally use. Tempting Turqoise is a colour that barely sees the light of day in my house, I do love it, but I rarely reach for it. I wanted to give it a run and have teamed it with Basic Grey. To achieve the effect on my background I ran my brayer over my Tempting Turquoise ink pad and then ran it over the debossed side of the embossing. I carefully laid a piece of Whisper White cardstock inside the embossing folder put it through my big shot. The is the end result:
The Design Team have created some gorgeous cards again, so head over to Just Add Ink and check out their fun backgrounds.
Thanks for stopping by.
Cheers
Narelle
Beautiful card – love the technique!
SWEET Card. Love the colors. I just love it! Love the pop of the satin ribbon. Thanks for sharing.
Oh that is SOOO gorgeous Delys. Love the colours and the background TFS
Narelle this is a beautiful card! So much I love but I really like the colour combo and how the grey tones down the bright boldness of of the turquoise.
Your work is absolutely stunning and always an inspiration!
Beautiful job on the background, Narelle. It looks like embossed DSP! Tempting Turquoise and Basic Gray is a great combo – the gray seems to tone down the turquoise a bit.
This is stunning and I love the colours you have used- plus another reason I should buy the Everything Eleanor stamp set!
Such a beautiful use of colour and that is one “fun background” for sure and a very pretty one at that. xxx
This a fab technique Narelle! It really adds to the elegant feel of the card. The grey works perfectly to tone down the turquoise – might be a nice combo for a Christmas card too! x
I love this technique that you have used on your background and I love how it has as much impact as does your beautiful flowers and bow etc. Just beautiful.
Gorgeous! Love the colour combo you’ve used, Narelle. The embossed background looks really beautiful.
