Dynamic Duos #22 & Mojo Monday #260

Hey Everyone

I’m back! Did you miss me? I’ve been on an almost 2 week holiday to one of my favourite places in Australia – Surfers Paradise.  For those who don’t know Australia, Surfers Paradise is a wonderful holiday destination that has beautiful weather (most of the time), gorgeous beaches and theme parks.  I jokingly told a friend recently that the only reason I had kids was so I could justify still going on rides at theme parks! That’s not the only reason I had them, I’m sure it was so they could complain to me about the road trip we took to get there – 2 days there and 2 days back! As wonderful as the holiday was, it’s nice to be home and back into my craft room.

Anyway, enough about me and now on to my card.  I made this card for the colour challenge at Dynamic Duos where their challenge this week is to create a project using Cherry Cobbler and one other colour of my choice. I’m also allowed to a neutral colour, so I’ve used Crumb Cake for this. I couldn’t find a Cherry Cobbler DSP that I wanted for my background so I’ve used this yummy Raspberry Ripple DSP, so I guess my colour of choice is Raspberry Ripple.

I’ve also combined the Dynamic Duos colour challenge with this awesome sketch from Mojo Monday.  I’ve gone with the square sketch this week.

Here’s my card:

Before I go, here’s a photo of the beach outside our resort looking back to Surfers Paradise.

And one of our resort pool (I miss it already!)

Thanks for taking a look.

  1. Your card is really beautifully done, the red color just makes it pop! I would miss that pool too, I rarely get the opportunity to go swimming, so I would have taken advantage of that pool for sure…

  2. Hi Narelle, what a beautiful xmas card!!
Glad you had a good holiday, I am off for a few days myself today. We are going further north to Cardwell sadly no resort just my Mum’s house which is very nice I might add but no resort pool in her yard…LOL…we have to settle for just the beach which isn’t a bad thing by any means. While we are there we will be doing a few day trips, we will probably go to the Tully Gorge and Paronella Park (a castle built by a gentleman for his wife). My son sounds like your kids…we have a 2 hour drive also and he is not looking forward to it!! The joys of Motherhood!!

  3. What a stunning beauty! This is so pretty!! Love the patterned paper you used and that beautiful ornament image! Wow! Thanks so much for joining us at Dynamic Duos! 🙂

p.s. Your vacation destination looks rather nice right now…we’re heading into winter where I’m at and I’m already missing summer!
