I’ve gone with a monochromatic card using one of my favourite Christmas Stampin’ Up! stamp sets – Dasher.  He’s one retired stamp set that I don’t think I’ll be parting with in the near future.  The designer series paper I’ve used is from a retired Stampin’ Up! pack called Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP.

Delys has found a beautiful photo for this weeks inspiration challenge at Just Add Ink. Have a look at these gorgeous colours in the photo:

A few of the girls from the Design Team have gone for very creative backgrounds on their cards, so I decided to give it a go too.  I found this gorgeous card on Pinterest and loved the effect the technique gave to the background.  I took inspiration from the three silhouettes in the photo and added three black banners with a black rolled rose, black buttons and black leaves.  I sponged Midnight Muse and Melon Mambo onto my card, but looking at it now the colours aren’t as vibrant as the inspiration photo.

The very talented Linda Callahan is this weeks sketch hostess at Freshly Made Sketches. If you haven’t checked out her blog, then I really urge you to head over there and admire her gorgeous creations.

I’ve gone with another masculine to try and replenish my stash.  I dipped into my dwindling supply of Jumbo Eyelets to use on this card, but I love the effect of them with Hemp Twine. I was extremely sad when both the Eyelets and Hemp Twine retired.

Yes, I’m back with a 3rd post today – you’re probably all sick of me by now! So I will keep this one short (probably coz I’m running out of things to say!) – people who know me will laugh at that.

I’m back with a second card today.  This time I’ve created a masculine card.  My nephew had a birthday yesterday and my brother-in-law’s birthday is next weekend.  I went into my man card stash and found that after I give them their cards, I have a total of zero cards left.  When I saw the challenge at Stampin’ Royalty was to create a masculine card, this spurred me into action to create one.

I’ve combined their masculine themed challenge with the sketch challenge at The Deconstructed Sketch.

The designer series paper I’ve used is a retired Stampin’ Up! one called Well Worn that I have barely used.  The image I’ve used is from a retired Stampin’ Up! one called Classic Convertibles.  I thought the grunginess of the papers paired really well with the vintage car.

Gee I  love a four day weekend!  I’ve had so much time to play around in my craft room and I even got all my cleaning done – except for folding the washing.  I’m hoping it will fold itself!

The card I’ve made today is for two challenges. The Design Team at Pals Paper Arts have this pretty colour challenge.

Whenever I see Gumball Green I have it in my head that it’s a colour more suited towards Christmas cards, but I have to say I actually like it teamed with Primrose Petals – not Christmasy at all! Here’s my card:

It’s Sunday night here in Australia and we have a public holiday tomorrow – yippee, another day that I can play in my craft room! I got a chance today for a quick play and created the following card for this weeks Create with Connie & Mary sketch challenge.

I’ve combined the sketch challenge with a the pretty colour challenge at Dynamic Duos. I was taken with the designer series paper that Janet from the Design Team used, so I’ve gone with similar papers.

My mum has just had a birthday so I’ve used this weeks Mojo sketch to create a card for her.  I gave the card to her last night so now I can safely put it on my blog without spoiling the surprise.  I’ve gone a bit vintagey for my card as we both have the same love for this style.

Wow can you believe it’s Wednesday already?  This means we have a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for you to try.  Rita is this weeks sketch hostess and here’s the sketch she’s designed for us:

Isn’t this a fabulous sketch?  You’ve outdone yourself with this one Rita! I totally love it! Calypso Coral is a colour that I forget to use, so I decided it was time to give it a run. When I saw the large panel on the front I instantly thought of a stamp set I received when I recently attended the South Pacific Stampin’ Up! Convention in Brisbane called Hello, Lovely.  I’ve gone with quite a dramatic background by stamping the pretty square images in Black Stazon and punching them out with my smallest square punch (can’t remember the size!). I then tried to soften all that black by adding one of my favourite flower stamps from Everything Eleanor and added some leaves from Summer Silhouettes.  It didn’t take me too long to get back to my flowery cards! lol
